just nerf max speed 120-130kmph should be enough for any light mech , the game engine cant handle faster mechs ---> max it

oh and it is so cool that light mechs easily survive longer than bigger ones even when they dont run away

no wonder med mechs are extinct , their "better" armor result in quicker death

If the slowdown affected all 'mechs equally I wouldn't mind, but lights preferentially? No way.

My issue is not that shots fly past them, but that I see impacts but no damage. It usually can tell when the damage is not going to register. If I'm shooting and it hits right around the upper legs and lower torso, the failure rate is much higher. This is usually a spider problem. I think, though, most have acknowledged that the spider has some wonky hit detection. It is more infrequent, but I run into this problem with other smaller mechs too, from the Cicada on down. Sometimes the mech isn't even moving that fast. It's very frustrating to know that you aimed, hit your target, and see nothing happen. It's much better than it once was, but I think some tweaking is still necessary.

yeah it should affect all, and turning /accelerating too, it is strange that mech accelerate from 0 to 100 in 1 sec or even less ,
so small mech still could run/circle faster than assaults track

If you all can't hit targets at 150 kph... wait until
http://www.sarna.net...re_Moth_(Dasher)

For laser training, take the fastest mech you have (ideally a 150kph spider or jenner) and practice high speed headshots in testing grounds. The more you practice, the better you'll hit. It really helps you hold lasers on target and get the mouse speed down to an instinct.

Review your weapon stats - see what you're good with and what you're no good with. Most people with PPC's aren't as good a shot as they think, and would be better served with lasers. Some damage > no damage.

Wow I don't think I am that good of a shot must mean I am pretty horrible.

It wasn't intended at a person specific jab or anything... hopefully it wasn't taken that way. What I meant was, lots of people shoot PPC's at lights and just assume = death. Since I run lights, I'd rather use lasers because I can "lightsaber" people if I can't line up for a full shot. Sometimes when I need money I equip an erll or two, advanced zoom, and just wave it thru the enemy team (like forest colony, for example - great place to rack up 10-11 assists within the first minute or two of play)

Oh no offense taken and sorry if I made you feel that way. I am not a great shot but I do ok and as you brought up I go to the Training Grounds on my Jenner and run around working on my Gunnery skills. So my post was more sarcasm more than anything after all its people claiming that you can't hit lights and as a Jenner pilot I have gotten clobbered by people who are good shots.

Were these accounts created on the forum site? Try to make a new account through the game client and see if there is a forum account created for you in that instance (be sure to never log into the website with the new account).

Following up on before. If you click the "Create new user" from the game client it opens up your browser to setup your new account on this website. There is no in-client registration / account creation that I saw at all. After you complete the process and verify your e-mail it logs you into the website automatically to download the client software (and a forum profile is setup even if you do not click on the forums at all).

So it seems to me that there is zero difference between setting up a new account via clicking a link on this site and setting up a new account by clicking "Create new user" in the client and having it open your browser to same location on this site.

No, you just can't aim.
You only play in low-level pug games, don't try to make sweeping statements about anything. The actual facts of the matter are the exact opposite. Take an assault mech, and lights are obsolete. You might not be able to wrap your head around it because you only have the experience of a low-level pug player, but thats why you should realize your own flaws and fix them instead of b*tching about your own low-level abilities.
In sh*tty threads like this, no matter who made it or what side you are on, we MUST demand some sort of evidence of the phenomena, or the thread should be locked. Take a video, record some screenshots, whatever. People, espeically bad players, are notoriously wrong about their own perceptions in games. They end up thinking certain things are happening when they aren't, blaming this and that instead of themselves, etc. We have to demand some evidence if we want this balance forum to be worth anything at all.

The above translated…

“I pilot light mechs and like being virtually indestructible. I don’t want to have a real fight where other players have a reasonable change of hitting me. I must always win. So I will insult you even though I know what you say it true; so the Delves don’t change the game and take away my advantage. And above all else I must be a rude jack hole when I comment about you. Personal attacks are the way to go.”

*** Please don’t take the above personally. I was not attack you. I was just translating your comments for others.

If PGI can't get lights to work now there's no way they can (or should, although they probably will anyway) put MASC in.

Well PEEF is not the most diplomatic person here on the boards he does have a good point and as a Jenner Pilot i am going to show this from the view of lights out there.

Lets start back in the days of games like MW2, and MW4 where if you had that big nasy Atlas or Dire Wolf you were guaranteed to kill pretty much everything else. Back then it was an arms race to get the big Assualt Mechs so you had that I win button vs Heavys, Meds and Lights. Well this is MWO and that arms race is not the case anymore so a Assualt can be out Piloted and loose. Now when this happens we see it as them going to mommy and daddy and crying how thier I win button didn't work. You see for all the people ******* and moaning about how you can't hit Lights there are those who can and do it on a regualr basis. You see when that AC20 hits a heavy or Assualt its not a rerrible deal but when it hits a light better hope you armor was undamaged because its gone now and if it was an alpha that just tagged you there is a good chance you are dead or about to be.

So yes Lights are hard to hit because they are supposed to be because if they wern't it would be that old stupid arms race again. So if you can't hit lights practice your Gunnery, change you weapon load outs and your tactics. Sorry if that makes you made but thats how I see it.

People may miss lights, but misses and hits that don't register are different issues. With each HSR update and each time hit boxes are fixed, more light pilots find out that they haven't really been good all this time. Eventually, when playing against good pilots, light pilots will have to be comfortable being back in the scouting and harassing role. Thankfully, we won't be back to the point/click/death days of MW4 for lights, but it will get to where it should be where brawling with heavier mechs is likely to get you killed if they aren't LRM boats or hot snipers.

Oh I have no problems with the HSR working they way it should but alot is just with Spiders to some extant. However it is very common for the complainers to come here and talk how Lights are broken when alot of the problems are thier own. I have seen people talk how they have seen a Jenner get in a slug fest with an Atlas and win because lights are broken. I pilot a Jenner and I know if I even tried that I die. heck i don't even like to do a death spiral because it puts me in front of their guns and I tend to die in that spot. I have learned to hit and run and the ONLY time I stick around it is when as you say its a LRM boat or a Sniper or if there is a friendly fighting with me aborbing alot of the damage.

Readjusting to the PPC projectile speed is part of the issue people have. It used to be stupidly easy to shoot lights or anything for that matter at the projectile speeds that it used to have...

I was actually advocating for a speed reduction, so it's kinda working as its intended (the TTK is reduced). Despite the Gauss Rifle nerf, they are hitting stuff that PPCs used to... (the window is still too short though). It's kinda hard to complain on my end with those changes.

*More learn to aim {Scrap}*

I'm getting really sick of this bollocks.
It is about hits not registering, not about missing the target!

If i'm in my Jager i'll shoot the {Scrap} out of a mech, even coring an Atlas in under 10 seconds. But i can fire at a light mech, with my reticule and the lights paperdoll flashing non-stop, for minutes with the light mech only getting yellow/orange armour.

I was fighting in my Stalker on Terra Therma and a Jenner ran up to me and stood still, about 50m away. Stood still. Perfectly still. Didn't move. He fired at me with his ML's.
I fired back with 2xSRM6's, 2xLL's, and 4xML's directly into his ct. 50m. You can't miss a Jenners ct at 50m.
He cored me while i only turned his armour yellow/orange.
I had full armour at the start. How did he do it?

In my twin gauss Cataphract on Canyon Network i legged a Jenner as he ran around a corner. I followed him around the corner to within 100m and he started firing at me with his ML's. I stood still and fired 6+ twin gauss rounds plus 2xML's into his ct.
He cored me while i turned his armour yellow.
I had full armour at the start. How did he do it?

These are just two extreme examples of the problem with lights. They don't occur often (except with Spiders), at least not that extreme, but many times i've been able to do little damage to a light.
It's not a learn to aim problem. Even if i couldn't keep hitting a light at over 1000m this is under 100m. It's not possible to miss a motionless target at that range.

Since the last patch I have had no trouble killing light mechs, even spiders, with any weapon I bring. Yes, occasionally I will hit and no damage registers but it pretty uncommon now when it used to be pretty constant. Earlier today I killed a spider with an AC20 shot from 300-ish meters in my BJ-1 while jumping.

I don't know what you guys are doing wrong but it is working for me so maybe you should keep trying.

That sounds pretty extreme. Would you consider recording and posting a video showing exactly what you described above please?

That way PGI and all us forum goers can see conclusive proof of this issue you describe (a Jenner standing totally still at about 50m slowly coring you out while you fire multiple (6?) alphas from your Stalker into his CT for almost no effect), as sometimes memories can be mistaken and occasionally people are prone to hyperbole on the Internet.
