You would rather throw a fit and poison these forums, and potential future players, than stop and listen. It's a disease to continually run the mouth and fail to listen to anyone else's viewpoint.

Fortunately practically nobody reads these forums. Most people are too smart to post here, and are instead playing and enjoying the game.

Clearly, you do not fall into this category. You've posted more than many of us put together in the past few weeks.

"Now, that wouldn't be the pot calling the kettle black, would it?"

No but it does say that you are violating this

"The point I was trying to make is exactly the point you've just made for me. You would rather throw a fit and poison these forums, and potential future players, than stop and listen. It's a disease to continually run the mouth and fail to listen to anyone else's viewpoint."

Actually i am not "Throwing a fit" i am stating facts, and if stating facts is poisoning forums then continue living in your head in the sand fantasy world while riding your {Noble MechWarrior} tricycle by yourself.

"In truth, I honestly can't. However, what good does it do when the naysayers want to scream out-loud all the time and fail to listen for anything? You good people seem to believe that I'm not dismayed by the lack of completion I've seen; I'm there with you, believe you-me. But, I've finally realized two things...

1) It doesn't matter how long or loud we scream, how many thousands of posts there are that denigrate our hosts, who were never required to build this game, and I'm simply sick and tired of trying to get blood from a stone;

2) PGI are not responsible for building or controlling this community, we have to be, the players. Likewise, we are not responsible for PGI, how they build this game, and if we put money into the game, we are responsible for what we've spent, not what they do with the game. If we don't like the game, we stop spending on the game, go and do something else. So, yelling and screaming aren't doing any good; so we have to determine whether or not we're going to support this game. After what I heard in the three-hour interview with Bryan Ekman, NGNG Podcast 88, I'm going to support this game."

What gives you the right/authority to tell anybody to stop posting anything on these forums.

"Until I find out/figure out or determine for myself -not by anyone else's vitriol or ignorance- that PGI is, indeed, not advancing this game, anymore. As slowly as we perceive this game is moving forward, it is. The Command Chair monthly entries tell us what PGI are doing and, as painfully slow as it is, the game is advancing. We have a new map due in October, four new 'Mechs (Phoenix), weapon balancing is continuing, though now it's in very fine tweaking rather than massive testing, the economy is being rebuilt to support 12 v 12 fights, potentially Battalion vs. Battalion, and Community Warfare, elements of which they are due to begin testing in early October. So, the game is still advancing, it's still being built. If I ever feel that's basically stopped, so will I."

Nobody is making your read these forums, nobody is making you agree to there views, nobody that i have seen is telling you to stop playing the game.

"Look, I'm honestly not making excuses for PGI, because I fell they're behind the cart at this point, as well. However, again, it does me absolutely no good whatsoever to get my blood pressure up over something I have utterly no control over. Bryan Ekman, in Podcast 88 for NGNG said he was going to be giving a live update on the development of this game on the 26th. If this does not happen, then it will be a sure sign, I believe, that PGI are having a huge problem, and that may be the end for me; however, I don't believe that's going to happen, I believe we're going to get an update that's going to excite us, reignite our dreams for this game. I don't that's {Noble MechWarrior}, at all, I think that's cautious optimism."

Actually you are making excusses for PGI by defending them at all cost and by posting false information and telling people they need to believe in people that have already lied to them repeatedly.
the false info is the fact you mention battalion vs battalion...no were has pgi stated this was coming in the game.

"You're absolutely right. However, what harm does it do me to try and encourage, in my own way, my fellow players to hang on a bit longer. It doesn't hurt anyone to shut their pie holes and wait a bit longer over something they have zero control over."

Actually what you are doing is more negative then what most of these people you call trolls who are posting facts about the game and exercising there rights as a consumer of pgi's product and found it to be lacking. And actually we do have a degree of control over this game its called our wallets and playing this game, along with the power of current media resources and word of mouth. if a company can not keep its customers happy said company will fail.

Earlier today, on this topic, I went to the bottom to see who was reading, and there was a list of, at least, 150 names. That's not a small number. I respect what you're saying, but I think your supposition is incorrect.

Oh, come on!!! And you haven't?! Stop. You are throwing a fit. In fact, you're so angry, you couldn't even get the quotes involved in your post. Stop.

Well not one bit surprised one bit that PGI has been silent since launching, this thread is moving towards threadnaught status, metacritic is split down the middle, certain gaming news/review sites are running rampant already and have been for weeks.

Even after everything that has happened you would think now would be the time to be more open with your player base and have discussions along the ask the dev style a lot more often.

Instead we get this thread, a "launch" patch with a camo and the "please log in and play for this hanging cockpit item so you can help pad our numbers to look better for launch"

There is nothing to say white knights, PGIs time to be vocal is now especially since the reaction to the lackluster launch patch was met with negativity and a meh feeling. Sure the gameplay inside of that little MWO world might be solid right now but you need to wake up and see the real problems.

I just wanted to make sure you understood that in the grand scheme of things, most people are ok with the game.

Posting this because numbers are been thrown around plus comments like the one above.
At least a dozen of our team made 6 to 8 accounts each to try and get into closed beta (i daresay we were not the only one)
My two sons made at least one account each early but did not use them (for more than a couple of days). Thats all i will say on the 1.3 mil accounts.
Here are some real numbers, provided to us by PGI themselves.
Over 70,000 Founders, of which now 35000 only log in the least ONE time a month on average ( most likely on patch day to see whats doing) the other 35000 are gone. Read those numbers again they are supplied by PGI.
If less than 50% of hardcore fans have been retained and of the other 50% are loging in the least on average ONE time a month.
Those are founders meaning they are most likely the ardent fans of the IP, the ones most likely to stay with the IP, what are the chances that the casual non IP fans are staying with the game in its current state?.
Those numbers alone discredit your statement that Most people are ok with the game.

They're probably just using the registered users number, which is expected from an advertising perspective. Go look at the World of Tanks forum and you'll see the user number is about the same as here, which is a good thing considering the popularity of that game.

Let me answer this with a question.

Why do you think they never refer to players online, and instead refer only to accounts registered?

Answer: its because a significant portion of these 1.3 million "people" don't actually exist Posted Image

Wow....so many negative posts. I would submit to any of you who are dissatisfied with the playability or graphics or anything else for this free-to-play game, that you are free-to-play an expensive store bought game and leave those of us who are actually enjoying MWO in peace. I for one am happy with the game. Is it glitchy? Yeah, but so is WoW, GW2, and a bunch of other games the hardcore players swear by. How about instead of just complaining, we use these forums for what they were intended when the beta began. Come up with solutions to go with the problems you bring up! For example:

There really isn't much of a social system other than the friends list and the occasional tournament. I would recommend making the joining of certain houses gain some form of small bonus, such as joining Kurita gives a 5% c-bill boost, while joining Davion gives a 5% boost to XP. These are just examples so don't waste time nitpicking my math. You should also be able to see what other players who also belong to your house are online so you can invite them to matches, thereby building a little household solidarity.

Thoughts? Comments?
