Your chart is broken man, there's a different scale on each side.

At best this just says that /r/MWO has managed to go from 0.5% of MWO's claimed registered users to juuuuuuust over 3%. It's not exactly growth, so much as the flamewars spilling over I think.

Note, however, that reddit is providing unique pageviews, and not accounts registered.

Yeah, there is. Look at the top line. On the left it says "45000" but on the right it says "600000". That's some odd chart organisation. I'm guessing one is pageviews and the other is just unique visitors, but there's no seperation and without having the raw datapoints I'd be totally lost as to what you were trying to represent there.

<.<

Are you even looking at the chart? Do you understand why many charts have 2 different Y axis labels like that? You didn't look at the raw numbers 5 or 6 posts up?

Is this really happening?

This is the worst case of confirmation bias I have ever seen!

At least he isn't using reddit stats to confirm the health of a game. Talk about bias, I thought military officers were supposed to be intelligent...

Confirm? I just stated it was one more data point among many.

Better than "I feel like it's failing".

Actually I'm just pointing out that your y axis useage is inconsistently labled, as there is nothing to distinguish the two and how the relate to the datapoints. If you even used the same colours for the numbers that'd have helped. Heck, I'm just trying to help you make a better graph man, not even denying the data it presents. You've got some bizzare persecution complex if you think that me helping you make a better case is somehow confirmation bias.

It shows that /r/MWO unique IP address usage is now at 3% of registered accounts over here. That's not a whole lot TBH.

So instead of saying "feels like it's failing" you went with "hey guys look at my stupid graph from a website that has nothing to do with this game and it's health, these numbers show it's growing!"

What do the stats on the SA forums show for MWO?

Well, at least that's more than you show why the numbers of players might falling drastically. Where are your graphs? Where's your evidence? All I see are words. Yadda yadda yadda the whole day!

Ok, then what about the raw data itself?

Someone help me out. Is his argument a red herring or a straw man? "Ignore the data, discuss Excel charts."

Right, because page hits from an unrelated website mean it's growing and successful. Hell, I've gone to reddit just to see the trolling.

Nope.

You DO NOT reuse the same graph to have two different scales, but even so, you have to IDENTIFY/SHOW which scale uses what.

It's not my fault that you can't even do a proper graph in Excel.

Thread #2 (maybe #3? I don't remember) on the game is at 369 pages, totaling 14748 posts, 1840346 non-unique views and with an average rating of 4, meaning "not good enough to be gold, but still pretty fun". We also have a breakdown of the top 100 posters, but that doesn't tell you much given that the thread has been running since Feb 11, 2013 06:22 GMT.

I can make an arbitrary graph if you want me to, but metacritic seems to be a hot bed of bad reviews. The MWO forums, reddit, all the articles that have nothing good to say. That's my proof that the game is unsuccessful. If the game/devs didn't have their issues do you think all of those things would be they way they are today?

The sad thing is I'm not even trying to be biased about a graph... just show the borked graph at work or to others. It's hard to NOT laugh @ the disaster of the graph that it happens to be (I could care less what it represents).

Not that I think the game is doing well but...For everyone poo pooing Heffays graphs, produce a graph to show your point, at least he is providing some data, all anyone else is doing is saying his data is flawed, if it is flawed produce a counter argument with data pointing that out. Its not rocket science, if your going to argue a point argue it with some form of intelligence, dont just argue to argue.

Do I think Heffays graph is accurate, not really but I cant find anything better to go off of so really there is no point in arguing if I cannot produce a counter point.
