So if they actually do implement all of these things, why is that so awful? What exactly was everyone expecting? It sounds like it includes most of the ideas people have been saying they wanted. I'm not trolling, but seriously, I don't see what the big problem is.
The only problems I see is:
1.) Casual players want to play the game/mechs they want, and don't want to pay extra for mechs just because they are not in faction. It already takes WAY too long to grind a mech to master now. Plus, does this influence the MC price? Sure hope not, but then isn't that unfair to those buying with CBs? Plus, how many people already have a stable of 30+ mechs? It's unclear how this will really work.
2.) I sure hope that players can participate in the game and have access to pretty much all content without having to be a serious league player and/or listen to some self-important geek who wants to lord it over players who don't play as much. Teamwork is good, forced obeisance to other players is bad.
Edit: cool to see people playing the game, but watching all the people, I feel like I'm watching the Big Bang Theory...
It's not that people aren't happy about what they announced, or don't want the promised content. It's more that we've heard this a dozen times before, "It's coming soon, just around the corner, any day now, community warfare, clans, lobbies, and more." After someone tells you that something should be coming any day now a few times a month for over a year only for you to find out that there has been no tangible progress made at all, you start to feel cynical. So what we had at the launch was what we've had for over a year now; they've told us that CW is coming soon. Neat. But that's all they said, and they gave us no reason to believe that the promise this time was any more meaningful than the last 20 times. If they'd shown screenshots of what they had in progress, or given a demo, given concrete details about how it's all going to work, there would be dancing in the figurative streets. But we just got the same words we've been given before, and everyone who has been here long enough to know better is tired of hearing it.
