why aren't the mods permanently banning forum posters who are advocating star citizen? it's blatant soliciting of their playerbase and is not acceptable, if you don't like this game and are moving on to star citizen then leave and quit trying to steal away as many players as possible

You can talk about a game without advocating for it.

Why pay for Star Citizen and not MWO,

The main difference is with MWO you KNOW you are being lied to, you were lied to when you bought your founders packs, you were lied to a year ago with the who CW thing, you were lied to yesterday (so bad).

With Star Citizen you MIGHT not be being lied to.

So you could say, anyone that buys from MWO is a brain damaged fool, or a *********. why? m.a.s.ochist.

Anyone that buys from Star Citizen is a hopeful optimist.

I don't want to agree with this, but it's exactly how I feel now.

just goes to show that on MWO's big day even long time battletech fans are more interested in SC than the flaccid PPC this game is currently

I'm willing to bet there will be premium fish that are only available for cold hard cash.

I'll take that bet. Name a stake and the date on which the bet will settle, and the loser gives the other that many Imperial credits in Star Citizen. I'll formally make the bet when we agree on the precise terms.

Welcome to launch, Mechwarriors!
Here is a special sneak peak as to what is to come:
A rehash of our community warfare plans similar to what we presented last year during the founders drive.

MWO: waiting for community warfare since 2012

I have no idea! I feel like I've been called out and my honor and integrity is at stake! I haven't had this much angst at how to craft a reply since the Food Fight Challenge back in 7th grade!

Can I infer then that people were upset about the attempt at a cash grab? Hmm, where did I recently hear that accusation before?

And your long post got me interested enough to poke around, after which I stumbled upon Long-term Insurance (LTI), something that is only available to the very earliest adopters. That sounds like the "founders" PAID TO WIN!!! Where did I hear that too before?

( :) :P It's a weekend, I'm home sick, and as such I am just having fun at other people's expense. :P  )

LTI (Life Time Insurance) isn't pay to win any more than Premium time is pay to win.

So... you're chickening out? You can correct your former statements if there has been some misunderstanding, but "I'm willing to bet" is pretty plain English and conveys an impression that you're pretty certain of what you're saying. Don't you actually believe what you're claiming? Not even to the tune of a dollar or two?

I'll bet, but not someone who resorts to calling others "chicken". I have standards on who I deal with.

I personally think you guys should wager something along the lines of loser must cosplay the winner's choice of fictional characters and post the pics for public viewing

The proposed bet is with me, not Sandpit, and I have no interest in making you play dress-up - that doesn't do anything for me. Make a separate bet with Sandpit if you want to.

Are you willing to put your money where your mouth is, Heffay? If not, the only conclusion I can come to is that you don't actually believe what you're saying.

We don't have to lose the bet to do that, right? I just want to be clear on that. :)

We had some people from KONG at the launch event, including myself.

The event itself was pretty awful, I feel bad for anyone who paid to fly down from out of state and came solo, it seems to me the only fun to be had was either if you were in the tournament yourself or if you were flying down with friends or fellow corp members. The whole event was standing room only with only 2 small couches, so you had to stand for all 8 hours, the free food was just some broccoli with dip and some bitter tasting flat bread with cheese and veggies and cold hotwings, the event was plagued by slow spots where we would just stand around doing nothing while they had technical difficulties (and I'm talking about in-game ones), and I don't know how you people watching the stream fared but in person you couldn't make out anything on the poor quality projector screen so you could barely even watch the tournament during the Forest Colony drops, and something you might have not noticed if you were watching the stream, but in person you couldn't hear the commentary at all, so for us the tournament was silent except for the game. The only thing to even do was to play on the two Razer laptops upstairs. It seems to me like everyone was just standing around waiting for their free shirts, which, they weren't even planning on giving out until 9:30 to make us stay. Of course, so many people wanted to leave that they actually started giving them out early by request, and let me tell you, there was a line at the exit just to get your stuff and go after that PC Gamer rehash presentation.

I know people will say that it was PGI's first event so give them a break but...what was even the point of the event? They could have just had the tourny without flying everyone down, there was literally nothing to do, we were paid in t-shirts to just stand around and make the room look populated so PGI could get some nice footage to show investors, there was 0 point to this meeting, the developers and PGI staff didn't even interact with us past giving brief AtD style answers to any questions we could ask the few brief times we could catch them when they'd run from the stage and back into their little segretated VIP area. They should have AT LEAST shown off clan mech concept art considering Bryan said it's already finished. But NOPE.

I think the worst of it all was how insincere Bryan came off as, then again, for all I know I was confusing incompetence with insincerity, not sure which is worse. I have no idea if you guys had a view of this from the stream but the entire time it seemed like Bryan was just making things up as he went along, to the point where he'd frantically motion toward Phil to change the slide when he'd run out of things to think up of. Even more hilarious was Paul just sitting there the entire time playing Tetris on his phone, completely and utterly disinterested in the whole thing.

I have no idea if the event was any different from the PoV of the stream, but in person, it painted a very stark reality. I don't know about you guys, but the event has done the opposite for me, it's killed any hope I had for getting any sort of new meaningful features or game modes any time soon, or for this game to ever get any better.

Most laughable launch event ever.

Why did we even have one? Who does this, really? Rockstar didn't have a launch event for GTA5 ohwaittheeventwasthereleasethatevreyonewassuperexcitedforandclassactuallygotcanceledinalotofcollegesfor

But why? Why have this event with a bunch of awful players in a tournament? That was the worst example of "high level play" I've seen. Guys taking 4+ naps in the middle of a fight and not dying because the other team blows {Richard Cameron} as well, guys alpha striking nonstop, don't know how to chainfire, guys walking around with arm lock, PPCing at 30m.

Oh yeah and Phil totally fellating EVERY NGNG guy he could. And he wouldn't shut up about being a marine. It's insulting to people who actually did things and make a career out of military service. He's just some twerp that won't shut up with a mic way too damn loud, rambling on inanely about nothing as he fails to properly utilize his spectator tools.

And then BB Wolfe got hyped up to hell and back by Phil, it's pretty obvious he wants to bang her. She's such a bad player! Absolute garbage! Of the two matches I saw her in she did absolutely nothing. Less than 200 damage. And she's getting interviewed and hyped up by Phil? Why? There were WAY better players. Instead we get stale eye candy and mediocre players who try to ridge snipe with an atlas.

Awful launch event, awful players, awful technical issues, awful equipment, awful presentation. Just awful. Absolutely awful.

I would go so far as to say it was "dreadful."
