MWO really does pull that off. I have been playing on and off since closed beta and will continue to do so into the future. Be patient, and clan wolf will be here to shoot you soon guys!

I have to slightly disagree with you on this.
I have been playing computer games since I wrote them for HP3000 mainframes, typed them into MicroBee project PCs, inserted their 5 inch floppies into IBM XTs, etc. And of all the games I have played over those 35 years since, the games I have most enjoyed have been MechWarrior games.
I have a games room full of MechWarrior posters that I scrounged from eBay, I have more than 700 figurines in a display case, I have 3D scenery for tabletop battles, I imported a Steel Battalion controller from the UK because they were unavailable in Australia, I have drawn up a 3D scale model of a Mech cockpit that I will build when I retire.
I could say much much more, but I think you're getting the picture that MechWarrior isn't ''just a game'' to me - It's THE game.
And having lived through the awful decades when Microsoft bought the IP, made MechWarrior Xbox-only, dumbed it down with MechInsult, and then sat and did nothing with the IP for years, I REALLY REALLY want MWO to succeed. Especially now that computer games have advanced to the point where it's actually possible for MechWarrior to be the immersive inter-planetary battle we dreamed it could be, back when we could only play with wireframe models in four primary colours.
So, when PGI perpetually push back feature releases, and dumb down the game with nonsense like bobble heads and consumables, and bastardise the core game by adding things like ghost heat, and then launch with a lucklustre patch and a self-congratulatory backslap, then it really IS a big deal to some of us.
We are watching the game we love being bled dry. If it continues on its present course of faux-populist mediocrity, it will die a slow death, and NO developer will ever touch the IP again. It will be GAME OVER, for the game that has been such a big part of our lives.
Wouldn't that make you sad and angry too...?

Stop being an apologist. Its not about the difficulty of programming, its about the complete ineptitude of PGI and the fact that theyve been promising things for over a year.
Every other developer manages to meet deadlines reasonably well and deliver content instead of making promises and then never mentioning them again, so don't tell me we should just sit on our thumbs and not complaing about empty, broken promises because none of us understands.
This game has "launched" with 2 game modes, a few maps, fundamental balance issues, a TERRIBLE UI, no lobby system, no CW, and stupid expensive prices on cash purchases.
I have loved BattleTech since I was 9 years old, and MechWarrior II was the VERY first PC game I begged my parents to buy, so I have a lot of emotion invested into this game, and really wanted it to work, not just be turned into a cash cow "Minimum Viable Product" release.

Having been in the" beta" for well over a year now only to see "core pillars" of the game be vaporized, and new features promised/delayed/promised again, I'm pretty sure I've been patient far, far longer than you.
Seeing the same pattern repeat itself again with CW and UI2 amongst other things, I'm clean outta patience, or trust for that matter.
"Will still PLAY, but won't ever again PAY" is my new motto. Thanks for helping me think of that.

Reality is, were not getting any of it because a bunch of people asked for money back, and the community rebelled. So in short, PGI turns into a jaded 5 year old, and decides not to give us other stuff with the launch as promised.
Good luck PGI!
I... sincerely doubt that is an accurate depiction of things.
I have my qualms about PGI and such, and things I'm upset over, but I don't think PGI or any of their management are cackling maniacally and looking for ways to punish us.
I sincerely believe the bulk of the problems are lack of experience combined with a certain focus on profit over product. But that's just, like, my opinion. Man.

I have been on these forums for a year. I have watched the community become poisoned. All (well most) of the people you say should stop complaining and give constructive feedback have tried that route...for months. I have seen NUMEROUS post by testers with well defined mechanics backed by well thought out explanations come to nothing. Trust me, the toxic environment did not form over night. I have watched it progress slowly like a plague over the months. Both sides are at fault, nobodies hands are clean.
I can tell you my biggest gripe...I'm tired of hearing SOON.

Even I'll probably have to start cutting back because even the quality of the content you DO release is questionable (looking at the Kintaro and Orion on release) and the controlled meta game balancing that PGI seem to taken up to sell content to consumers. One thing I want to point out though PGI, IF you are going to show potential consumers that launch trailer, but we can't play in matches greater then 12 per side... then don't show over 12 mechs in what is the standard tactic of blobbing. I actually wish gameplay was that much fun...
Giving this launch a 3/10... nothing to see really...
