If you dislike PGI | IGP so much then go help kickstart Heavy Gear or another game... at least try and do something constructive instead of trying to belittle other's. SaveMWO or whatever this group and the likes are will not change what is happening behind closed doors. That much has been proven time and time again, yet the silliness continues to this very day.
Grow up and move on please or at least stop the hate if you have nothing to contribute that holds some form of merit, beyond yada, yada, yada.

Maybe when you finally get private matchmaking in here and IF there's an actual league still interested in playing this game I'll come back.
Until then... GL getting 12v12 that doesn't have 3PV when most everyone I know quit playing.

When they originally talked about this a year ago+, they said it was perfectly legit. Now they are changing their mind?
That makes them liars, doesn't it? Why should we trust what they are saying now?
Uh, what? You're not making any sense here. Yes, this was talked about a year and more ago. Yes, this entire deal is, as you say, "legitimate". It's true that there was no C&D offically filed; there was no need to. Wandering Samurai voluntarily stopped development to avoid a legal SNAFU with PGI over the licence. At no point did the development teams of PGI or Wandering Samurai "lie" about there being no legal threats or C&D orders; it was all done very velvet-glove.
That is not to say that there was no coercion, or implied future legal action if the team did not comply.

I stopped supporting this farce a long time ago. It's sad, it really is. I bought into it, foolishly. But...lesson learned, money lost. We move on. I started playing STO again when I hung up the helmet. Haven't even thought about MWO until I get this "Launch" email. I literally laughed out loud.
Someday, a company will make another MechWarrior that doesn't blow. But it sure as hell isn't this one.

:stare: Not to uh, disparage your choice of game, but you could have done much better than STO.
At least you didn't go back to playing EVE. YOU CANT MAKE ME GO BACK

EVE? Good gods, man. I have better taste than that. It was better than going back to WoW (that and I had a metric !@#$ton of EC and ships on STO), for certain.

Couldn't agree more. I love getting into a match and hearing "that guy" who keeps repeating "this blows" or "LRMs suck" or "this game is such a waste of time". Play or don't play, but don't sit there complaining about it while you continue playing. It's completely ridiculous. Nobody who actually enjoys the game cares about how much you hate it - you're just making the experience worse for people who do actually like the game. Why does everyone feel so entitled?

- It took more than a year to fix Advanced Zoom module, and to make flamers somewhat more useful. NARC is still useless.
- UI is still the same, as they had to redo the whole thing from scratch and it is taking forever to make
- gamemodes are the same, the only thing which changes is the dominant weapon (LRMs / PPCs / UACs / etc.)
- tutorial only covers about 5% of the things you should know about the game. This is probably one of the worst tutorials I have seen in games so far. Furthermore, it actually does more harm than good, teaching players to play with throttle decay activated, and never explaining why you should actually play with arm lock off. A certain other fps mech game (not MW:LL) has infinitely better tutorial.
- there is no in-game knowledge base or even FAQ. This is actually one of the biggest fails of this game so far. The fact that you have to read the forums and third-party sites to learn about even the most basic mechanics speaks for itself.
- we got a few new maps, but still no map selection - right now the only way to skip a map that you absolutely hate is to quit the match and hop in another mech.
- Alphastriking problem was "fixed" by implementing the worst possible solution compared to the proposed alternatives - the Ghost Heat system
- Operation 24 is a lame attempt to show that they did something for launch, when in reality this launch is basically a small patch with some minor bugfixes, leaving pressing issues unattended (zoom, chainfire delay, map selection, gamemodes, 3pv enabled in all games except for premade groups of 12v12, etc.)
You still have to use scripts for several of these functions, like zoom, to work properly.
It I were to review the game at this point as a finished product, I would give it 6/10 at best. There is practically nothing to keep you interested aside from acquiring new mechs and testing different loadouts.

Launch is the first time I've been truly disappointed in MWO. I understand that these guys are a small team and they're broken up into smaller(sometimes 1 man) groups to accomplish tasks. I also understand that they have to sift through someone else's code to fix bugs in engine itself. I've had to do that before in a programming class on an obviously much smaller scale and that is a crappy job sometimes. It takes a lot of work and aspirin sometimes.
No new features today because they aren't ready? Awesome! I can wait. Thanks for not bugging up my happy mecha fun time. But wait,,,
No leader board tourney?
No Piranha Hunt?.
Operation 24? I can't find the exact event rules any more but I think it was play 24 matches before the end of the month or something and get a cockpit decoration. Really?
I admit... I was secretly hoping that everyone would get a free mastered Urbanmech who signed up and played a match before an end date(which I know is literally a lot to ask). That wouldn't have been the only answer I would have accepted, though.
WHERE'S THE REVELRY AND POMP!?!? DUDES!?!? THIS IS YOUR LAUNCH! YOU ONLY GET ONE OF THESE!!! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BLOW OUR MINDS!!!!

The "Official Launch" is not surprisingly (to me) underwhelming and feels more like just another Patch.
I’m not going to complain about what hasn’t been included or the lack of new features, maps, etc for launch it because it won’t help but I will be watching and looking as each patch is released to see the new features that are going to be implemented over the next 90 Days to see where the Direction MWO is going.
Hopefully in 3 months time we do actually have UI2.0, Community warfare and the lobby system...... but I am most certainly not excited about the "Official Launch" its just another patch day.
But the good news no longer can anyone use the words "ITS A BETA!" as an arguement against people’s opinions on the state of the game.
It’s no longer a Beta the game is released for good or bad.......

I wasn't expecting much for the launch date. But come on! This felt just like another patch.. few tweaks here, few balances there, pair of skins to customize your mech, and be able to buy mech, and so, quite the same the last patch or the other. Nothing especial that would make me say, "Oh yes, this is a patch worth of a launch", well yes sorry, you added a trailer, that some of the scenes were seen before.
I would have prefered the new UI rather than skins/mech/trailer you have added.
To resume it up, I think you would have better said something like "Sorry, we promised it would be launched by the end of summer but we can't because we don't feel it's finished" than making this "Launch". On both cases there would have been rage, but on the first one it's understandable, it's not finished so you have still to polish things, the second case it's like "Launch?? Really? Where?"
Thank you, and please continue working hard for this game. Just next time don't make a launch announcement like this.

I agree with this post. I really enjoy MWO, and find most of the forum wailing tedious.
However, this launch is a PR failure that should have been easily predicted and averted. World of tanks do more for a random weekend that just so happens to correspond to the date of some historical tank battle than you have done for this launch.
