The footage of the massive mech squad attack is so ******* misleading as ****. Wake me when you finally do get 24v24 matches.. because that **** you showed PGI was out right lies.

Moot point: the trailer was made by a fan, who wanted to do a bunch of really cool stuff, and features footage taken from throughout MWO's history. You can even spot famed WoL member, TankBoyKen in his Atlas if you know where to look!

I don't know if the guy got paid. Probably not.

Ok well they need to be a bit more clear about this then, I thought it was official. But still its disappointing because I'd give anything for the game to be like that right now, 12v12 made the game awesome, but I think 24v24 could make it just that bit more epic.

Congratulations MWO for a successful launch. You pulled off the rarest of all things. The servers didn't crash on day one. Not even the all mighty Blizzard can claim that feat. But then again they had tens of thousands show up. But at least you guys launched the game and its no longer in beta.

Whoops. But that's okay. We understand. We're used to PGI promising to do things and not delivering; CW, hardcore mode, Dropship Mutator, Role Warfare, Decals, etc.

So take heart and put it on your todo list and I'm sure you guys will get around to fixing that little snafu in 2015.

my 2 cent´s are regarding the launch (not the game in general) is:
i´m also more than a bit dissappointed that they had no suprises for us fo the launch!
come on PGI you had nothing on the shelf (okay nearly to nothing) for your community

it was JUST a ordinary patchday.

we all hoped for a suprise map or mech.
now you got a big problem:
if you do nothing about it in the next days it will be wrong
and if you do something it will also be wrong, because it will look like you will do it only because of the bad launch.

it is also possible that PGI is holding back there suprises for the launch party in San Francisco, but if this is the case why for god sake the do the official launch 1 week earlier?!

Sigh...

I've always been skeptically optimistic (as strange as that sounds). I love BT en MWO. I can also fully understand slow development. Really, no issues with that.

But.. deep down inside I knew this was going to be another mundane monthly patch. I mean, seriously, if this is your LAUNCH, ffs, just give us something.. no, not the regular Orion for CBills thing.. I mean make the day stand out at least in some way. Hell, where is the Flea? That would have sated many beasts here today. Not some stupid 24 cockpit item.

I'm not criticizing the game (though I should).. I'm just baffled by the lack of confetti and fanfare.. Oh look, i got an email.. Yay.. I, just like pretty much everybody here, just feel a bit.. deflated.. like we are not running all systems nominal..

Opened up MWO to patch. Logged into the client, closed the client.

I'm burned out on MWO. Nothing new here to see or try. I'm afraid the feeling is going to get worse before MWO is fully featured. What then?

Just saying, honestly.

Can we at least get an epic CGI launch trailer or something?

Correction; we now have this:

erm... this was posted 23 March 2013:

I'm just not going to say anything..

Is it a moot point though? This is the launch trailer and up until now PGI seem to have been pretty active in producing official video content . Now second most important trailer in MWO's timeline has been farmed out to a deniable asset. It could say close to anything about the game (DX11 Support!) and PGI could just ignore the responsibility for misleading customers.

I really like to play MWO, especially with a few buddies, and we were all eager to know what will happen at launch day. Needless to say that this is most boring game launch I have ever witnessed. Great job PGI for doing nothing. A big thanks to all the founders, without you I wouldn't have so much fun playing this beta version of the game. Nothing has changed though, up until CW and UI2.0 this will still be a beta version...

Hmm, launch day is set near the end of the fiscal year, aiming to improve on their quarterly earnings and impress any investors. Plus, perpetual beta status is something keeping players from returning. This isn't anything but a marketing ploy.

Congrats PGI on Launching today. I am really looking forward to new content in the future, and to see my favorite mechs! To all the players out there that love the BT Universe and love the game I hope I can see you out there on the field. To all of the people who think they are entitled to see significant progress every patch and want and complain about missing content please familiarize yourself with the development cycle for software. I will provide the link for you: http://en.wikipedia....lopment_process. To all of those people wishing ill on the guys from PGI or think things are taking too long please feel free to pursue a degree in software programming and help the guys out: http://itt-tech.edu/...list/it-sap.cfm. How about giving these guys some constructive feedback instead of telling them they are not producing a quality product, I for one think it is much better than it was during Closed Beta, and hope to see more improvements to come. Just my $.02.

Well to all the {Noble MechWarriors} who said I was wrong when I said we would get nothing on launch day...... to all the folks who vehemently said we were getting UI 2.0 and CW phase 1.......guess what you get....

Read the patch notes....

I like the trailer. For me making an online version of this game is an achievement. Graphics is way better from the days I played the old Mech Warrior 4 Series. For the negative post and founder players I want to thank you. Your money and criticism contributed a lot to this game to make this far. Without you guys this will not be successful but don't forget making a game like this is not cheap so to everyone expect to drop a few dollars from time to time. Developers need to earn also. =p

You don't need to be a developer to know that this launch day event is a joke. You should have planned something awesome, develop it and hold it back for launch day. Luckily I am a developer myself and know how to do this. PGI just screwed up. This is not a launch day, this is a regular patch day.

I must say, I am also quite disappointed. I wonder if I should refund my Phoenix purchase. I am playing with some friends every tuesday (since over 15 years with changing games) and they where all disappointed and talk is on if we should move on to another game.

This is the same group I played the board game Battletech with, around 20 years ago, we all have the manuals, Figurines and Books ... so I would say we are highly enthusiastic about BT, but this "launch" was really very disappointing. I mean, come on a new map, a surprise Mech, something exciting, ANYTHING to make us feel good about the game.

What a sad day.

No budget for a game launch trailer even? Just something borrowed and recycled?

I have spent more on this game other than any I have played excepting one subscription MMO. I enjoy this game a great deal and really love much of the content we get. I wouldn't have spent so much money on it if I didn't.

But calling this a launch....really? It was barely a patch.

I have been excited about launch for a long time, wondering what it would include, maybe a long awaited feature, new chassis...maybe some ballons?

I want a bad *** (and original) launch trailer at least!

/fizzle.
//sorry Devs, I know you work hard on this stuff.

This game launched when..

A: anyone could sign up, register and play
B: you started collecting money

both became true factors.

For you it was launch day, but for me it was Tuesday.

Well, it's over 50% positive reviews now. And about 10% neutral. Despite a concerted effort by the vocal minority, it appears people actually enjoy the game.

Just goes to prove that people see things different, you know half full//half empty. You propose a concerted effort by vocal minority, others see it as a concerted effort by white knights to try even it. I had a look at it and it seems the guys giving it good reviews are the ones ummm, exaggerating it some what?. but what ever.
Really im very happy youre happy with the game, go tell the world.

As far as the guys that are telling people to go away un install the game, im surprised mods havent deleted or edited those posts, very rude and in no way helping PGI retain players, that should be a forum offence, or is it.?
As far as the youtube promotion Video, that to was rude, was it purposely misleading and false advertising or just simple oversight by the maker that it is misleading and false advertising. If it was an oversight then the correct and proper thing to do is edit it or simply put in a disclaimer that is not a true representation of game play as this will harm the game when players attracted to MWO that have been diverted here (by the clip) find they cant be part of a mass battle as depicted on the clip.

PGI, this is the product you have put on the market, this is what you are presenting to that demographic you are looking to attract, by your own vision you have presented a product that is missing your two main core pillars, UI2/CW. Also new players are going to come into game with no community chat lobby or game lobby or any way to communicate with the games community, all in all a very lonely confusing environment, time will tell if that works out for MWO.

As for myself i updated MWO first time in 4 months (took awhile i must say) and read the patch notes, as there was nothing added since i last played except mechs ( not interested in inner Sphere rust buckets) i havent played.
I did however buy 3 more months of WT premium time as i need to get some more kills for the summer event that will net me 5 premium high end planes free if i reach my target (offer is also available to non premium players but i can use the XP boost from premium). Now i mention this so you know what other companies are offering their players for events and the like,, giving you some inside info in the hope it helps.
Me personally i will be back (playing) when i can play with my friends and selected enemies in selected matches of my choice in either FPV or 3PV, we all have different wants.
I sincerely wish you luck as i want nothing more than to play MW with my friends.
