I have read all the comments that everyone wrote on this 47 pages and its sad that so many of you are so negative what can you expect if a game is only 2 years old. It take time at least we all have a game that is working and all of us love to play MWO so why not encourage PGI to give us more than to make them negative and stop creating it at all. they give attention on fixing bugs so it will make us all happy at the end cause it is you guys out there that complain about the bugs. It may be disappointing for many of you not to see real changes with this launch yea it kind of was to me too but what the heck I still love playing the game and see forward to what is coming and I will keep spending money here. Grats on the launch guys even if it wasn't fireworks. WE will meet on the battle fields GO PGI show them what you can do.

@MixKat,

I am with you almost all the way. But it does seem to be disappointing to more people. As I said, I play with friends and if "we" decide to play a different game then I will do so. We played this game now since close Beta (me since the very first open Beta days) and the disappointment grows and it seems like we are moving on. Launch would have been a VERY GOOD opportunity to
increase the motivation again. There was not much needed really, a new "Game mode" maybe which could be just a little variation of the two modes we have, maybe a Night Version of some more maps, maybe some harsh Weather conditions on maps, whatever ... just something little to make the anticipated launch day special.

But there was nothing!, I mean NOTHING which was really a let down!

The "launch" is irrelevant for me and I think for many others. But the game is not much more than a "last man standing" team shooter. New Mechs are nearly the same to the existing ones. The game modes are more and more boring. Since a feeled year there was nothing new in this game. I love it too, I have spent my money over months and I don't regret it but it's time to see some REAL progress in the game.

You are right. We still play. We still buy MC and all the other cool stuff. I can't wait for the Phoenix to kick in so i maul with my MGs in a Locust. The game is still fun. We moan and gripe, but we still play. It is that 'holy {Scrap}, did i just gun down two guys in my Raven?" feel that keeps me coming back.

But the game is stagnant. That's why when a new expansion for WoW comes along, it sells like hotcake. Its different. its new. then after a while its back to grinding and some people leave again. We hoped launch would introduce something different. Like a said, a friggin skin or mech would have done it. They came out of left field with another mech when everybody was expecting the Orion.. but yeah..

But I think the kicker here is that "launch" is no different from "beta". The beta/current/launch version of the game ain't bad. and yes, its still in dev. 2 years.. eh, i'm ok with that.

We just have a disappoint. It doesn't mean we are gonna stop playing. I look forward to the changes when they eventually come. Just like you and everybody else.

What we can expect?

How about that the Developers keep their word? How about that they keep their own deadlines that they had set themselves? How about the developers not creating hype and expectations when they absolutely 100% know that they are not able to keep their promises?

But screw that.. its the haters fault for this game being a terrible mess, its not like all these haters pumped an at that point unheard amount of money into this project right?. Its the haters fault that PGI/IGP did not hire competent experienced coders for the longest time because screw that.. our team of complete amateurs that never have done a project on their own and never created a game from scratch is totaly capable of delivering all the promises we made to get in the founders money.

Heck politicians keep more promises they made during election then PGI did when they wanted to sucker in all the founders.

I felt a lot more excited about MWO a year ago. It's still better than most F2P titles out there, but the market is incredibly stale. Much as I want to be more enthused, I really don't feel like a lot of front-end progress has been made in gameplay or the metagame since I joined in Closed beta over a year ago.

Looking back on what my expectations were, Launch is kind of a let-down, honestly. :(

I am really sad. I had great hope in MWO.

The game goes "live" but is still beta.

What we shall celebrate right now?

old, long known collision and texture bugs
unbalanced Weapons
useless skills and modules
still no DX11
all cool features gone
non working fraction system
no new game modes
no goddie for all the thousends of players who payed million of dollars to make this development possible

Moving Tutorial `? Training grounds? For who? All the people who are with you for months. Or for the new focus group, kids with parents credit card?

12vs12 battles? Wow. Even heard of 32vs32 Battles in other MMO games? Or you ever tried Planetside 2?

3rd PV and new mechs are all you have?

A akward youtube video and a mail (picture text "X-MAS in july"!!!) shall make new payers play MWO?

not even some new milestones for the next 3 months?

I wonder igp wanted to finish this asap, as they see nothing more will happen in future.
I, for myself, see nothing cool will come soon, but more "buy, buy, buy" Buttons.

:/

Helloes,

This has been really lame launch. I´m really unhappy how whole game has turned from really promising mech game to "give-us-all-your-money" and "we-dont-give-*hit-what-you-suggest".

Hawken and MWO both started their beta almost same time (or was it few months between?). Seeing how Hawken community and game have grown, its stable, playable and still in open beta.. Then compared MWO what still has quite annoying bugs, weapon/mech balance issues, etc Then worst part, MWO developers don't seem to care their customers and people who pay their bills.

MWO developers should really look in to mirror and think what has happened to their (and community) dream of MWO.

I have to say the the metacritic scores are a real mess right now, and the hardcore white knights seem to be doing more harm than good. Seriously

Let me explain, If a newcomer looks at the metacritic rewiews they will notice a few things.

1. about half of the people hate it 0-3 scores

2. you have the people in the middle who write decent reviews and state the good and bad and rate it with scores from 4-9,

3. you have the crazy looking people who just say its perfect 10/10 when there are so few games that deserve 10/10 with all the other reviews these just look really fake

4. and then you have the really really really crazy looking people who give the game a 10/10 on release day but then go on in their reviews to talk about bugs and missing features.

Personally if that was me looking at a game I have never played I would take note of groups 1 and 2 and ignore the 10/10 scores...

you do not listen, we do not hate mwo, we hate the devs that take our money for work which is not done.many players gave them even more to support them really ( above 100$ thats more than a fullprice game!! ). and they manage to throw the money to the wrong ends.

I write it to you so you can understand it clearly: WE HATERS LOVE MWO.

we want to make it better, but we dont have the time to learn how to develop games. the only thing we can do is give money and comments.

BUT THE FIRST THING DOESNT HELP

Gratulations for launch.
Keep your work going and thanks for a cool game.

To all you haters: Shut the f... up. Create your own game, your comments show that you are all pros of the gaming industry. They let us participate on the development for so long (for free) and all you can do is ***** around. Go and play wow or pokemon.

You must be new here... *looks at your post count* Yup

Guess what, we have reason to be upset, I mean we've had PGI practically swear up and down that we'd be getting certain things, like U.I. 2.0 Community Warfare was described to us at one point as core content to be given at release. 3'rd person was promised never to be implemented, coolant flush, the list of broken or misleading promises goes on and on.

For people like me who dropped $20-40 it's something annoying. For those with Founders? It's a slap in the face, those are the people who invested in the game when it was just a glimmer in the pocketbook the eyes of PGI. They've been betrayed, hell even the low paying people like like myself with next to no money in this game have been betrayed.

We're fed up with the BS that PGI has tried shoving down our throats and it drives more and more people away. Look at the post counts of those who're complaining, look at the status tags. Most have hundreds of posts and/or founders status.

Stick around long enough and you'll become just like us, fed up and uninstalling.

I'm done PGI, I might re-install in the future but for the foreseeable future? I don't care anymore.

I have every right to post my opinion on this game in a public forum, AS SUPPOSED TO BE. So shut up yourself, you're in no position to forbid anyone to speak. My opinion is of no concern to you and I don't wish to get commented on it by people like yourself. I put money into this game, bought Overlord Phoenix, Saber package, 24 Mechbays, colors, patterns, cockpit items. And now I'm not happy with the release. Leave us grown ups alone and go back into the hole you came from.

Launched?

MWO still only has basically one mode (technically 2 but they are really the same thing just with redistributed points), 12 man only teams, cant play with a random sized team, no option for playing solo with only other solo players.

But instead of addressing this issue, which is one of the main reasons this games is still at beta stage and definitely not at launch stage, you PGI waste time and money on adding new mechs and skins and stupid hanging trinkets to try and wow us so we forget the game is not really moving forward.

Then there's weapon balancing... I wont go there cos you cop enough about that.

To me this game was better 1 year ago when open beta was announced.

I really want to like this game but you make it so hard. Why cant you just make it awesome? MW fans are screaming the answers at you but you don't seem to notice.

I think MWO should be used as a case study in commerce textbooks of "how not to make a digital product".

Piranha need to learn how to do the game's release in other game makers. There is nothing to compare, for example with the same Wargaming.net.Feel the difference!
World of Warplanes: Game Release

The full release of World of Warplanes will be preceded by a further full reset of the gains achieved by testers during all of the previous stages of testing. Thus, all players will be placed in an equal starting position, regardless of whether or not they were previously also test pilots.

Our main aim during the Open Beta Test is to ensure that we have determined the best and most balanced economic model for the game. We do not want it to be possible for someone from the Open Beta test period to take advantage of any remaining issues or balancing work, and thereby receive an unfair advantage over other players.

"Real" gold will appear in the final release version of World of Warplanes, and will be available for purchase for real money. Free experience will then be implemented as well. In the short term, gold and free experience will be the same for (shared between) the two projects: World of Warplanes and World of Tanks.

Awards for Testers

The game release will be an exciting moment – one which is eagerly awaited by fans of the World of Warplanes project, and one which our Developers continue to work towards. Those of you that have been actively helping us in our work on the project, as test pilots, will be suitably rewarded. Testers will receive special badges and emblems, depending on the stage at which they joined the project, as well as special Premium planes. The level of the awards will be directly related to the level of activity of each player, measured by the number of battles in which they participated.

All testers will be divided into two groups: pilots with at least 100 battles overall and pilots with more than 700 battles across the entire testing period (from the Alpha Test up until the game's release.) The first group will be awarded with an exclusive emblem and medal in the game, while the latter will have access to up to three unique tester aircraft (the specifics of which will continue to remain a secret for now!). Suffice to say that these planes herald from the Soviet, German and American branches of aviation development, and two of them are fighters and one a ground attack aircraft. All three planes are highly worthy gifts that should easily please their owners, but which aircraft (and how many) a tester receives will depend on the stage at which each individual began their participation: during the Alpha, Global Alpha, or Closed or Open Beta.

Testing of the game is not yet complete, but it is steadily approaching its end, and very soon we will face large-scale air battles, epic victories and heroic achievements. In the meantime, take part in the fighting, test out the new plane models and save up on precious combat experience (the one thing that is sure to come in handy later on!).

Good luck in the air!

Congratulations PGI for reaching this milestone in the development of MWO!

See you on the battlefield.

O7

What milestone? No really. Tell me? I remember a post from them in which they stated that first and foremeost release would mark the point where this game is mostly stable. For weeks now I have been getting CTD's, Lock ups and frame drops all quite likely caused by memleaks. They missed their big features, they themselves said, would be essential for anything to come in the future.

They also said release wasn't all that important and nothing but a date really, a line in the sand. That's the most ignorrant idiocy I've heard in a long time. Transitioning from beta to release is essentially telling the media: "We're done, please go ahead and review the game." Unless they are planning to pull off an "Atari" to keep bad reviews away releasing in this state will backfire.

I've said this numerous times here already: Since about 5 months everything that goes on here reminds me alarmingly of what happened with "Black Prophecy". They too transitioned from open beta to release with a not perfectly stable client and missing big features, the bad reviews came and so the needed new blood was effectively kept away, which had them run out of money before they could finish the features that would have made the game complete.
