Welcome To Launch, Mechwarriors!

This launch made me sad. I do not just write that because it sounds good. I love the IP (nostalgia) and I told my wife that I would play all night on 17th. I even planned the next day so I could get up late (took the dog out late and stuff). Then I read your "launch" post and I just sat there. I could not believe that there was NOTHING. Not even the info-stuff you "announced" about CW and the clans. I did not drop for a single match that evening. I replanned the next day to get a new passport (got there early the next day to avoid waiting).
I do not like to write personal stuff like that (even though most people probably would not even consider it private). I hope it helps to emphasize that there are some people that are disappointed HEAVILY by your abysmal project management. I am in the same business (not games though) but I never witnessed a project that was managed that badly and which did not fail in the end. I still think you will get CW done in the end because you just got a lot of cash from the unseen but this game could have been a massive hit - which BT-{Noble MechWarrior}-me hoped for.
So again: I am not a screamer/hater/child/imbecile/troll but you disappointed me A LOT. I hope you have some serious talk with your project manager(s) and I hope you get something done before christmas.

I could not agree more!
But I also have the feeling we are talking to the wall and between all the hate nobody will notice the sadness.

I really hope this does not come unexpected for anyone.
The writings were on the wall, literally everywhere.
The only good thing about this launch is that the "it's still beta!" -argument is now out of the window.
Isn't that sad?
Sorry PGI, I really prefer to be constructive, helpful and friendly, but you brought it upon yourself. Most of the negativity arose through your own fault. True, there are always whiners and complainers and ungrateful people.
But rarely have I seen so much justified criticism.
Just go back and read old posts. There was a time where a lot of players preferred throwing ideas instead of poison.
To get back there YOU have to make the first step(s). You have to earn back the trust and goodwill. You are the professionals! Not us the players! (well some are, but not at your company, and not in their role as players).
Let that sink down. And swallow that debilitating pride ffs.
Nevertheless, good luck on the road ahead.

LOOK.
The game is (gasp) F2freakinP people! FREE. TO. PLAY. If you're one with "a lot of disposable income", then get off your damn duff and become an investor at PGI. If you're "disappointed" by the lack of features, et. al. - here's an idea: pony up some cash so PGI can hire guys away from EA and whatever other have you company to get crackin' on all the shiny goodness coming out.
But if you're like me, a guy who has been waiting for a passable 'Mech shooter with true online multioplayer capability that doesn't involve jabbing buttons on a console controller like a rabid monkey, then maybe... MAYBE... you should give these guys a chance.
I personally don't know of any one company that would run a demo for over a year... OPEN... and invite people to check it out and decide whether or not it's worth blowing real money on (I know for a FACT this was NOT always the case w/World of Warcraft, now they let any jack@$$ with an internet connection and the ability to count to 21 without getting naked get on... but I digress) or maybe just dawdle at it and go find 'the next greatest big new thing'.
I have a REAL strong feeling most of you who are whinging on about not having everything ready and running at peak performance on launch (1) haven't paid over $100 to PGI for any of the goodies they have available for cash purchase (except for Mr. "I blew $800" earlier in this forum post, don't remember his name... don't care.) - so WTF are you wankers complaining about? The devs are doing what they can to get things up and running.. SO WHY DON'T YOU ENTITLED BRATS LET THE PEOPLE WORK?
It's like dayschool for cats. TOO EASY.
1) When a dev tells you they're running a open beta, yet after the beta period you're complaining b/c some features they wanted to get working right (for YOUR butt) ain't yet? Heck. Be glad they let you run the beta AT ALL.
2) Bragging about how much you blew of your 'disposable income' tells me one thing: No matter how good your skills in a 'Mech are, you're still just another gilded twinky with low self esteem and (probably) a terrible skin condition. Here's your Clearasil, kid.
3) Just b/c the devs are turning reverse handsprings to get this game up to speed, it ain't perfect. As long as technology advances, it NEVER WILL BE. Something will ALWAYS run wonky. It's the nature of our technological gadgets and gizmos. I'm sure most of you over 10th grade (both of you) have heard the term, "planned obsolescence?"
4) Whining about the 'problems' of free games = 1st World problem. Shut up.
5) If it ain't broke - DON'T FIX IT. (that's to the devs, you guys actually thought I'd let you off easy? NOT A CHANCE.)
6) If it IS broke, why are you leaning on that shovel? (again, for the devs)
I look forward to PGI and Infinite to add value to your BattleTech Universe title, and here's hoping that not only this (supposedly anemic) launch goes well, but as you guys add to the game, it only gets better.
Good Luck, comrades.

I am, and I have, but passable is a ridiculous bar to aim for. With this IP, hardly any game developer could fail to hit 'passable', and at launch MWO is missing standard features that are essentially a requirement for a 'passable' competitive multiplayer game.
I'll give them another chance, and I'll back it with my cash, but seriously, at this point there can't be any reasons other than laziness, greed or utter incompetence for the state of the game. Please don't get me wrong, much of MWO is awesome, they have the foundations for a great game, and a wealth of material to draw from, but it is clearly unfinished and unfit to 'release'.
The biggest problem? Throwing more money at it is not going to help, unfortunately.

Sorry but you don't know what you are talking about.
A lot of us is involved in this game for more than two years. I as a founder gave ma money for a promise how this game will be.
A promise given by PGI.
Two years later nothing of the promised content seems to be even near to be released.
They made a launch day and nothing changed.
We who are here from the first day on, wanting this game to be great, are fed up with all the broken promises PGI gave us.
PGI has to deliver, asap!! anything else just adds to the insult.
It is a shame, a truly fu... shame.
I am sad because this game could be so much more, but it is not.

No, you look. Because you just described yourself.
3 posts? Get out here kid. Keep throwing mommy's and daddy's money at them and leave the adults alone with your insults and immature rants.
But maybe you're gonna get a white knight cockpit item from PGI. Who knows.

See, the Launch WAS already. It must be "went well".
And that is all I am saying, it was sad. I was, like many others, hoping for a special day of Battletech gaming. It was not, that was sad.

It would have been a better idea to be honest with their players, just saying "Sry guys, we dont mange to
deliver Ui 2.0 until launch, too many problems ahead. So we´re gonna delay the launch until its done"
Of course, there would have been a shitstorm as well, but as far as it concerns mee, I would have understood.
As it looks like now, they just patched regulary, added a nice (over the top) trailer and removed the beta tag of the
game afterwards. No candy for their players, nothing that makes this launch patch REALLY stick out from a common
patch. U dont attract new players with this kinda stuff, guys.
P.S. The forums seem to be still in beta

Sorry, but that was said and communicated that UI2.0 will not be there for Launch. That said, it was also clear that all the CW features are not going to be there at launch. I did know that and that did not disappoint me. But I was HOPING for SOMETHING, a LITTLE SOMETHING to make the date special for the Players.

Yeah, I was actually up til 2am where I live. I couldn't drag myself away from watching the unfolding shitstorm of disappointment.
I squeezed in some games of MWO every now and then, to see whether the MatchMaker had fixed the problem of perpetually teaming me with noobs in trial mechs (poor things, they never stand a chance).
But the most entertaining thing, in a tragi-comic way, was watching the reactions to the so-called launch.

YES, like me. I want to play this game and I want to play with my friends. On the special day of LAUNCH,
which we where all looking foreward to, we where MOSTLY chatting about what other game we could play from now on. THAT is a FAKT.
