This patch (launch) lived up to my expectations.
Congratulations PGI on lowering the gaming communities standards and good luck from now on (even when Closed Beta ended this sentence wouldn't make as much sense as it does now).
You can keep your "shiny-new-cockpit-item-for-24-matches-played".

woohoo! so umm when are you guys going to put in a purpose for all this brainless mech brawling? There used to be lots of talk about community warfare, and I noticed that wasn't even mentioned in the launch event notice.

I'll agree that the trailer is misleading with the vast amount of mechs unless PGI is planning on launching a battallion 36v36 format.

Also, the trailer is too focused on heavies and assaults. The trailer should've started out with a light mech doing recon or running circles while shooting up a heavy mech. Instead, it looks like a gankfest where two teams just run full steam at each other, unless you're in a catapult, where you just jump at someone and fire.

Meh.

Haven't played in months, received an email - checked by.
Apparently nothing changed at all. Went through patch notes - 100's (I guess less) of features are sure is like icing on the cake, but wait, there is NO cake. No major features added, only worthless things like 3rd person and dozens of things to milk active players more. And lots of fixing of things, that didn't need fixing in first place.

See you in a year or so when (if) you'll drop me an email saying "Clans are here - and other features we promised year ago".

But yeah, I guess. Grats?

Congratulations devs ! Having played this game from when it was 3 maps and 8 mechs, I appreciate how it has developed. You've made a game that is enormously fun to play, and I look forward to the imiprovements and features you've got lined up.

Congrats on the launch! It's been a long road, but ultimately I think MWO will be a much better game than any of the previous MW games.

Definitely a long term investment. I just hope PGI doesn't neglect the actual players in hopes of bringing in new players. Right now it looks like Enronomics, sorry to say, where the business model depends on new investors. They need new players, because new players spend money on mechs and premium time and other useless {Scrap} that the old players already have. If PGI can't find effective ways to milk the established players, then MWO will shrivel and die.

Pretty cool trailer! Great music! But they should be ashamed for putting all 24 mechs running down a hill and firing at targets off camera, as if there were actually 48 mechs on the field.
And it makes me laugh that Launch actually just consists of a trailer and a pretty dull patch. Still, it's an important milestone. I look forward to playing this for many years to come!

Congrats! Having the rights and making this game in the first place is a huge accomplishment. It's been a hell of a lot of fun this first year+ (I got in really early with my founders' package). I think I speak for many of the early adopters in saying that we would like to see some of the early promises come to fruition. Namely, community warfare. Having user collaborated missions would make this the best game ever. (Might also make some of us spend some more time and money on the game :) )

come on PGI, people where complaining 9 months ago that the core gameplay is kinda good but even the most hardcore battletech players got bored of mindless grinding deathmatch.. how you think ordinary casual players will do? they will be bored in a month i promise you. So in 9 months of knowing... what have you done? actually nothing and by the looks of it nothing big is coming in the near future..

what blows my mind is why 12v12 was such a "huge feature and massive effort" on the team when other game developers almost seems to change they player number in their games like flipping a switch. Everything thats even remotly interesting is always a "MASSIVE UNDERTAKING" for PGI when other game devs are making entire new games on the same time it takes for PGI to develop a usable interface.

Wait, what?? Pretty sure the conquest gametype is still definitely available. Are you perhaps confusing this with CW?
