I recall quite well back in the day, when Paul would host little open houses in the Comstar server. Before the thankless douchery got so deep they gave up.

This is a bit of revisionist history. One of the biggest gripes less blind-faith founders have is the way communication avenues slowly dried up and we began getting worthless marketing speak instead of real answers. Just look at the state of Ask The Devs, where they choose from several questions we've pre-selected: all too often they squander the opportunity to communicate by simply saying "Oh, we can't answer this right now" instead of simply moving onto the next questions in line.

I mean, you can't tell me that they stopped answering questions and started missing deadlines to spite the fanbase because of "douchery." If we were nicer, do you think Community Warfare would have magically materialized by now?

No but they would atleast talk to us like they did in closed beta. I miss those days. The vocal minority ruins it for everyone

Revisionist means changing it. They used to communicate. That tapered off, largely due to the attitudes on the Forums. Has nothing to do with community warfare. But we at least might have had better communication. But by all means continue to act like an entitled child.

Blind faith has nothing to do with it. Either we get it or we don't. Twisting the facts to try to make one's stance "firmer" isn't going to change that. PGI has pooched some things, and then when they do get things right, are basically still treated like a redheaded stepchild.

You're just naive.

The reason they don't talk to us is there is nothing to talk about, they are just reporting endlessly cause they dont have the experience/manpower...

The launch event taught us NOTHING NEW about community warfare.

Wooooow....

The bounty system, yeah such a core feature the game cant live without it, wasting some painfully grinded cbill to kill someone that an entire team want to kill anyway.

Yup the most important thing ever.

or maybe, try asking nicely?

I recall quite well back in the day, when Paul would host little open houses in the Comstar server. Before the thankless douchery got so deep they gave up.

I give it less than a year for Chris and his Star Citizen crew to start backing off the open communication too, once they miss a few hurdles and the forum turns full toxic. Not saying I agree with PGI's communication stance, and in fact I believe that was one thing that both Garth and Bryan acknowledged they pooched. Just saying as a human being, I can kinda get where getting ratf***** for everything you say gets kinda old.

Yes because the community prevented PGI from making clan mechs, community warfare, UI 2.0, knockdowns, balance, game modes and directx11.
Do go on about their great communication in telling us this was all coming soon a year ago.

point missed. But since you are just here to troll, why should I be surprised. Point was, without even trying, I demonstrated that blatant lie to the preceding statement. And yes gentle reader, other details were revealed. But no, I'll leave you to do your own homework or not. Your continued ignorance is not my problem.

Go home, Bishop. A year from now, SC will have a 60 mission singleplayer campaign, not a 'toxic community.' Bishop, plz.
You're using Riot and Bioware terms to pin the blame on the playerbase.

Honestly? Probably can't. I really don't care for pointless arguments. Too many people on both sides of the divide want to stretch the facts to ridiculous extremes, and TBH, I'm kinda sick of it. I'd rather just drop and blow stuff up.

If I misread your meaning, i apologize. I can usually be found haunting the Comstar NA server. But if you are looking to debate and what not, I gotta tell ya, not interested.

You are the one that is confused, clearly you are blaming the lack of clear communication from PGI on the community.
I'm not QQing over anything $30 is a drop in the bucket, but the fact that you aim to blame PGI's failure to do a lot of things they communicated to the players of this game on the players is just wrong.

Or where you somehow blinded to the dev stance of :
"we want you to beta test our game but don't want to hear anything critical of it from you"
For the majority of the beta period.

The launch and launch party made it very clear now that they have nothing of substance to show which explains the lack of communication and the constant delaying of major features.

In 11 months community warfare has gone from words on a website and pcgamer to a powerpoint with a mac background bar graphs and nasa images.
Clearly a result of the community's actions.

If the player base had been "nicer" this whole time I have a bad feeling MW:O would've gone into open beta sooner, we'd have consumables with better MC versions than CBill versions, and all the Founder's premium time would've been used up by now with now choice in the matter about it, and that's likely just the tip of the iceberg.

There is a difference in giving constructive criticism and being a tool bag whiner. One would actually enjoy reading the latter.

Actually, they pretty much always failed at communication, and not by just a little. Messages were highly sporadic, very incomplete, and far between from the very beginning. They lacked any consistent form, distribution method, or standards. I've honestly seen better, more professional, and more consistent communications from high-school students and that's not an exaggeration.

Blaming PGI's communication failures on the forums is, at best, a weak excuse and inaccurate. But even if that were true, it's no reason for continued failure.

If you can dig them up, the old forums where filled with constructive threads that pointed out problems and offered solutions.
A lot of them where lost in the great purge when they "redid" the forums, the rest where completely ignored by the devs without a single response from them or trolled to deletion by people who disagreed with the OP

Oh? When was the great purge? Like middle open beta? The vocal minority already did it's damage. The great threads were in the close beta forums but even those had the typical whiner threads. It wasn't until the masses came when all the entitled bs began to flourish.

ok MWO's failure to communicate is completely our fault... Our Signals from our island is damn good...
They are a gaming company, if they cant handle the forums then they have alot of problems.
There has been constructive feedback/criticism from the beginning that was ignored, plus look at the polls they put up, ignored, and deleted.. Yes great communication skills.
PGI needs to take some lessons from Trion games, and how they communicate and are on the PTS with you trying new things out.

What was it that was damaged?
Deserved criticism 6 months ago due to their lack of progress with the game caused them to stop updating us on their lack of progress with the game?
