Did you try turning it off and then back on again?

your 2 nonchalant for someone who works for PGI. Or did the founders vote you into mod status? Ether way you should not be fraternizing with the help.

I don't even care about the repercussions of quoting this. I just hope someone gets a laugh at it even if it's only Destined.

That said, back on track at least for me..

I'd say most sites asking for user feedback is going to get exactly what is happening with MW:O, lots of white knights and lots of rage bashing with only light sprinkles of evenly though out reviews (regardless if they're high rated or low.) However, it's telling how many of the harsher scored reviews have much more in depth and though out responses then the bulk of the positive ones. As it's true some of it's inane drivel, but many of the negative to moderate reviews actually have meat and thought to them.

Also, it's not showing well with the overall game critics. While this trend may not continue I'm rather confidant that it will. PGI's going to end up with a very mediocre to poorly reviewed game due to all the missing features and ever changing vision for the game no matter how you interpret what was "promised" or said to be true when either the Founder's pack went into play and the more current situation with launch and Project Phoenix.

I honestly gave this game a 3 out of 10. The art direction is the single best aspect of MW:O as well as the art forum being the most constructive and helpful area on the site. A moderately enjoyable cockpit experience grows stale quickly with lack of support from anything outside of it as it becomes a mindless grind with sales being pushed on you every weekend. This review is based on the initial launch of the game; additions of CW and UI 2.0 may make me adjust my score but currently MW:O is on shaky legs as far as I'm concerned. A failure? I think it's too early to call it that (and I understand it would be but my own opinion,) but with how past design decisions and issues are handled by PGI, I ran out of good faith a long while ago that things will turn around anytime soon if ever for MW:O.

If you still enjoy MW:O, I'm happy for you and hope it continues to give you enjoyment as it doesn't harm me in the slightest. I have played but maybe two times since a month and a half ago as I can't bring myself to enjoy anything then maybe one match and then I'd rather play something more fully fleshed out after waiting for empty features to show up Soon ™, which with PGI is akin to Never ™

I had a few quoted posts to comment on but seeing the thread turn amiable I will just sit back and consider it a win for both sides.

Now if only the game would get finished I'd feel my year of grinding worthwhile.

Dear god I'm still trying to pick myself off the floor after passing out laughing.

It's so true. Asks the Dev's used to be a great spot for info now it's just a rodeo mostly for half answers and "Look over there community! Another promise we won't confirm nor talk about so you'll stop asking about something you're not going to like!"

This is part of why my Metacritic review is so low.

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that through a few posts that aren't condescending, are lighthearted, but interact with the community... Destined has managed to briefly blunt some of the anger currently bubbling in the community...

I wonder how much more effective at that a few well written, informative posts from actual Developers would be?

What would have been the situation if rather than a single Command Chair post this month, we had ten or twelve posts full of screen shots and information?

Something that PGI really needs to think about.

The only thing such scorched earth tactics will accomplish is permanently kill the MechWarrior franchise. It won't do anything to change PGI's direction with the game.

And if that is what happens, the sooner someone else can pick up the franchise and try to do it right.

I must say, the amount of cash that the Founder Program generated is probably plenty of incentive and relatively current metrics to cause somebody to take another shot at a Mechwarrior title.

In fact, I believe that the financial support that MWO was able to generate reinvigorated the Mechwarrior IP in the industry. It's no longer the 10 year since there was a product item.

The next studio to get a crack at the property will be able to say, "Look, PGI got 5 million from a kickstarteresque campaign... Then they totally blew it with craptastic management. We can do better, and tap that market. Tap that market hard! We actually know what we are doing."

Just saying... The franchise can survive PGI... In fact, the franchise will benefit from the energy that PGI was able to generate... That is, what they generated back in the days of communicating their vision and development process with the Mechwarrior fans...

I'm curious about something.

How much time have you logged? How many mechs killed or matches fought?

The reason I ask is because for me a 3 game is one I wouldn't ever play.

So it makes me wonder how many people scored this game a sub-4 and yet still seem to keep playing.

As many people have stated, they are here for the IP. If this was the same game without the Mechwarrior license, it would have already died and failed.

It's not so much that we keep coming back for the gameplay. It's that they are the ones with the IP, and this is sadly the only way to get a reliable Battletech/Mechwarrior fix.

It's basically a hostage situation.
