Stop reading the green ones too then. They are just as bad.

so they are, so I did. And with the current score sitting around 5.3 or something that means - fanboi and hater's scores included - MWO is still slightly better than average....

I guess setting the bar lower is exciting.

The trust issue...

Everyone remembers "you will never have to play in or against 3PV".
Everyone remembers "Coolant Flush is not a good idea and makes heat management less important."
Everyone remembers "3 months after open beta, the game will have Community Warfare"

But do people still remember:
- Drop Ship Mode?
- The PC Gamer description of what Conquest would be?

Going back on their plans and failures to deliver on their plans are a common theme. There might be all perfectly valid reasons why PGI might have done so (at least in their view), but it means that their "plans" are meaningless to their customers.
But not communicating plans doesn't help either. They'll need to get better at estimation the feasibility of goals and the timeline of their plans. If they can't get the timeline right, then they at least have to commit to their goals.

Whats funny is I used to post the about the last two things and gave up.

And yes, if you never heard of Metacritic before, there's some dirt on your head. Must be from that rock you're living under.

Hey guys why do those vocal minorities you always accuse of being vocal and minor outnumber you 3-1? ;)

Oh I know, it's because you gold shills ARE the vocal minority, so you're shifting blame onto the other side of the spectrum

yeah that silent twitter audience really needs to step it up and start painting the review sites gold

It's okay though, this game is going to get the call of duty audience (totally not going to be playing call of duty) on xbox 1

He pulled them out of his bum. Three of which were the sticks he had deposited there a while ago.

You have to understand where they're coming from. PGI is proud that 50% of Founders log in at least once a month! That's a metric to crow about, so why would you be surprised that the supporters are glad to be SLIGHTLY BETTER THAN AVERAGE. When you set the bar low it's easy to achieve success.

Imagine the day where we celebrate the fact that slightly more than 10% of the Founders play at least 1 match at least once every 2 weeks.

When you read facts as proposed by PGI.. you don't need the the details to know that the statistic garners *DANGER WILL ROBINSON* sirens.

I was talking to my TS buddy that rarely treads on the forums. He stated that he wasn't ever big on Mechwarrior but loves FPS multiplayer games. He stated that this game by far was on a whole other level compaired to the shooters he plays. He likes that he has options, he likes that it really requires teamwork, he likes he has to do it right the first time or its game over for him. He like me is also a tad more patient.

People are foaming at the mouth because PGI aimed high. Hey at least unlike old games we can get the rest of the game put in.

Did you know GTA took about 150 million to make? For the most part it looks like the same engine thats been used over and over again, but it still tooks the same to me. Yeah it paid off for sure. I guarentee you that PGI doesn't have that kind of funding. This is also PGI's first "big game". Yeah they made statements that they had to backpedal one. Yeah they were wrong to do so and they have learned. I hope from now on they don't sign their name in blood because a huge lot of you are like a pack of rabid dogs, just looking for something to bite.

The implication being that prior to this PGI didn't realize that when you promise something, bolded and underlined using the definitive word "never", the people you promise it to expect you to keep it?

Remember guys, it's not PGI's inability to study cryengine before working on it, or to implement multi-threading so we can have things like lobbies, it's not the 2 years of constant lies and position-changing, it's the community that's bad. We're entitled spoiled brats, who do we think we are, walking around all entitled just because we are consumers with expendable resources and Bought into a video game premise that PGI lied/failed their way out of so horrendously they now fear lawsuits, it has nothing to do with the new kickstarter mentality of supporting a game's developement wherein you pay a company to make a game a certain way and they tell you how the game is going and if you agree you pay, only to find out their position has changed so many times you forget what their original position was, or what they originally promised and failed to produce.

We as a community should be happy that we have a robot game at all. Not because we don't have other video games to go to with our expendable income but we hold out hoping for what was promised, but because PGI works really really hard making a new map every 3-5 months and a new robot every 2 months and they lower the quality of the graphics every month so new players can join because they can't optimize code, while constantly tweaking and testing the micro-transaction economy just like a good beta release should, even though they didn't really tweak or test weapon balance for the first 2 years, or fix more bugs than they introduced for the first 2 years, come on guys, our problem is we're not giving them more money. They can't do this alone, poor little piggy all alone.

side note: has anyone else noticed canadian game dev companies can't compete in foreign markets at all? They even have like canadian game dev awards cuz they'll never win anything outside of their own little quebecian hugbox

tl;dr: These ratings and reviews are totally undiserved, totally unjust deserts
10/10 game would grab deal again if given the chance, it has flaws but im giving it 10/10 to counteract all the realistic reviews and all the ones that are unfair in my opinion.
