We appreciate your concerns on our recent changes to C-Bill earnings.

As an online game, MechWarrior Online requires close attention to economy balance. We have been actively monitoring and tweaking our rewards system in preparation for upcoming features and overall economy design.

As we move closer to the game’s Launch on September 17, our developers will be addressing the community in an official post on our forums with a focus on C-Bill earnings and other reward systems.

Thank you again for your feedback and patience while we continue to adjust the game’s economy.

It's easier to test and adjust this way: By first reducing the overall reward, we can observe the telemetry of how much less players are making overall during this period of time and thus make better judgement on the value of future rewards.

This also helps reduce the possibility of over-shooting our adjustments and giving away too many rewards. In such a scenario, we would have to nerf those rewards permanently and be left with much upset from any players who had grown accustomed to those greater reward levels.

In our current development: We can confidently counter frustrations with the current rewards implementation with the knowledge that more rewards will be coming, similarly to when rewards were previously adjusted last year.

Your other concerns should be addressed in future communications from the Dev Team on the upcoming rewards.

Launch on September 17 has come and gone. Where is the offical post on c-bill earnings and other reward systems? Are the additional rewards still coming, or was this another extremely mobile goal post?

Here here, this demands attention.

Sadly I doubt it will get any, and it will probably just be brushed aside.

As a portion of the economy is reliant upon some aspect of CW and loyalty... I'm guessing we'll not see this until (during or after?) the launch party...

Yes, I'm highly speculating the bulk of the new info will surface during this fiasco.

If you're new here the way management handles difficult issues is to promise an imminent Command Chair post detailing the issue and then......

Very true. Their favorite way to brush things off is to say something is coming in the next 60-90 days with lots of info on it in the coming weeks. Sadly it never seems to happen.

You see, they wanted to tell you more about the economy before launch. That was their position at that time. It has since changed.

They don't fail to follow through because they don't care, they don't follow through because they care too much. :)

OP you might want to look at the second bullet point then retract your "demand for information" as it will likely lead to banishment.

I demanded nothing. I was just asking some questions in regards to information we were told was coming.

Yep... I think he might have mentally merged your post and the first answer by mistake. :D

Presentation during the launch party on the 26th by Ekman should have more info, according to the NGNG interview.

Not sure about you guys but I've withheld all MC purchases and spending until we get these delivered "C-Bill earnings and other reward systems."

For now I just grind with my existing mechs as buying and outfitting new mechs requires too much grind of C-Bills.

Didn't they say in a podcast that this is where they wanted earnings to be?

Then again, after the nerf, a support guy tried to justify it to me saying he earned 450,000 in one match post nerf.

Pictures or or didn't happen.

Frankly, that's not possible, even with the current system.. 50% premium AND 30% hero bonus.

The highest C-bill values are under 200k before bonuses.

Assuming we get the fortune of getting 200k...

200,000 * 1.3 (hero) * 1.5 (premium) = 390,000

I'm pretty sure the support guy was a comma spot off instead.

Sadly, I'm not so sure we are going to get the kind of info we think we are going to get. Perhaps I have just been burned one too many times now, but I suspect what info we get is going to be rather hollow. I mean sure the NGNG interview said that we will get all sorts of info at the launch party, but look at the first post from Niko in the OP. Niko said we would get an official post on these forums before launch. What they say and what they do are more often than not so far apart you can't really expect to see/hear what you thought you were going to.

Probably never, PGI somehow thinks this game is fun enough to justify the intense grind.
I LIKE MWO but it's just not fun enough to justify putting so much time and effort into it just so I can try out a new mech or master a mech I don't even really use too much, or even worse, grinding out engines.
The income nerfs is the whole reason I even quit playing and spending money on this game, I wouldn't even mind the nerfs if they had just buffed premium time in scale with it but NOPE, you pay 14$ a month for an extra 50k per match, it's ridiculous, and I'm glad my premium time was only 5 days away from running out when the nerfs rolled out or I would have been pissed.

Can't they see? It's RnR all over again, people quit, and they'll come back if they undo it, or at least roll out their new "CHANGES", assuming they're actually any good and not something stupid like "2k reward for logging in and actually playing per day!".

But of course I'm sure this is going to be the one position they'll refuse to change on.

People don't stop playing games because they unlocked everything PGI (most people in KONG have had 200mil+ in c-bills since November of last year and they still all played regularly up to a month ago) , people stop playing games when they stop being fun, and let me tell you, this c-bill nerf isn't fun, and it sure as hell isn't going to convince me to buy a mech with MC like you planned.

The sentiments raised here reflect on my own concerns perfectly. With a lack of communication forthcoming on the topic, I can't help but feel a bit despondent about the current state of the game. Do I like big stompy 'Mechs? Yes, I do. Do I enjoy feeling poor for my efforts, or hamstrung on customization because a.) I don't have the funds to tweak as I want to, and b.) every one of us must ultimately tweak a 'Mech several times to get it where we enjoy playing it? No, I don't. I honestly worry about the reaction new players will have after coming out of their cadet bonuses and being confronted with the snail's pace of the economy as it stands today.

If there are supposed to be other rewards implemented aside from C-Bills and XP, fine. But the game has become very grindy for me over the last few weeks, and personally speaking, I'm having a harder time justifying spending free time on it in this state.

Addendum: I'm not advocating "quitting," nor am I trying to rally an anti-developer line of dialog. The opinions stated above are merely mine and mine alone. They are simply my honest feelings on the topic as it is being discussed in this thread.
