Can some one explain me how can mech move with his 2 legs destroyed?

How could a Mech walk with even 1 leg destroyed?

Does he jump on one leg? The funy thing non of these Mechs is able to climb a wall of 1-2m height...so basically no mech could walk upstairs - or walk over a small fence.

But that is another story. The only guys that I know that fear legging are lights -thats just 25% of current players

Well I'll be damned. I doubt we'll see the pelvis issue fixed in short order, but it's good to hear that things are at least being looked at.

As i mentioned the goal was to get them to see it, understand it and once that is done my job is done here.

Up to them if they want to change it.

So -

I am pleased

FANTASTIC work, Carrion. I agree with all of these changes, and I really really hope the devs take a nice long look at it.

I had a quick look at that thread and I agree with some obvious things like the pelvis regions and the AWS sugguestion but NO to the dragon.

I DO NOT want that kind of hitbox for my dragon, this would kill any kind of dragon build that is successful running a xl engine sure they are fast to avoid damage and there is more armor in that fat nose of a CT but turning it in to a stalker style hitbox would mean the less armored ST will be more of a damage magnet.

Sure I understand the need for hitbox fixes on certain mechs, but that doesn't mean that every single thing has to be changed when things have been fine.

[Redacted] If you destroy the legs you should destroy the mech. That's 100+ damage in many cases, and even once one leg is busted if they're targeting your other leg you can use the dead leg to block the other one.

[Redacted]

CT hitboxes need reworked, obviously.

I like all of these and I own like 55? mechs. the only hting I would add is that head hitboxes need to get bigger, not a lot, but right now the head hitbox on everything but the catapault is a matter of luck not skill, since the hit box is so tiny.

Gameplay!

How is that gameplay? Usually the only mechs that get legged (even one leg) are lights. And even with one leg gone, they are sitting ducks. It really doesn't matter if you get cored or lose the other leg, you are easy to kill now. And that is fine.

Having losing both legs mean a reduction to 15% speed, would just enable trolls to take both legs and leave you in the middle of Alpine or Termaline, unable to participate and unable to give up. Already bad enough when you survive with one leg.

So in the name of gameplay, leave it as it is.

Few things about this.

1. I highly doubt it.

Considering how slow it is to grind cbills most people crawl over teammates and shoot though them to get a kill.

2. You can leave the match. - Boom-

Back in the action in another match, so the only time that person is wasting is his own.

3. We are talking about 15 kph for both legs

You completely gloss over that losing 1 leg reduces you to 50% of your speed, compared to 40 kph it is now and the 15 kph when you are being hit.

I'll take 15 kph instead of being dead any day.

How about when we have dropship mode with additional mechs waiting? In such a mode this would be a strategy to make people rage quit or simply waste their time in a useless mech when they could have been destroyed and in a new mech.

At 40 KPH you can still be of some use, like capping. At 15 kph, not so much.

Nice explanation and good job for the pictures !

But if PGI change the hitboxes, i don't think re-doing all the hitbox guide :D.

When dropship mode comes out alongside UI 5.8 I would hope there would be an eject option.

Thumbs up!
Especially the Awesome hitboxes you suggest would make this mech viable again.

But I also think you overdid it a bit. e.g. the Dragon just is a huge CT and should stay the way it is.
It is good that there are some mechs were XL engines work better because of the small side torsos.
And the Dragon is the archetype XL heavy.

With the Orion it is true that it is completely useless as a brawler which is really frustrating. But then I love my supprot Orions with large XL enigens. Never ever had a side troso kill (maybe once).

Finally, when the pelvic area becomes a leg hitbox maybe the best course of action would be to increase armor on the legs.
Because mechwarrior without killing mechs by legging is no mechwarrior. PGI already chose a very friendly approach letting you still walk with one leg.
But okay, you do not die when you lose your legs. maybe you are luckey and fall against a wall with your stalker - then you can still pew pew a bit ;)
