First of all, it's Indiana University.

Secondly, let me repost this for ya'll who don't read:

"I have placed in the top 12 of 4 straight Light Leaderboard Challenges, and the first was after only playing for a month. My placings were 12th, 8th, 3rd, and 2nd. In each of these leaderboard challenges, I didn't play for at least one entire day, and in each challenge I played a different build. I have played in 100% of my units competitive tournament matches since I joined and my role has continued to grow. In that time we have gone 17-1 in sets, and the team we lost against, we later 4-0ed them in the Grand Finals of the tournament to win the whole thing.

I am very well-positioned to discuss top-level play and the opinions of top-level players.
Honestly now, what do you think I have to deny?"

Let me repost this for you all who aren't as awesome as me:

I am PEEFsmash
I am a legend in my own mind
I am god's gift to mechwarriors
I am the king of all the tryhards in my artificially created league of tryhards
I am well positioned to discuss top level play because my opinion is the only one that matters
The devs need to balance MWO based only on my needs and my needs alone
You baddies need to acknowledge my superiority and bow before my mighty opinion

Did I miss anything?

I wouldn't call Spiders broken, I would just call other 'mechs inappropriately scaled.

I've just started trying out a Spider 5D, and while it can rack up 300-400 damage, my CTF-4X or 2 AC20 Jaeger can just as easily rack up 900-1000 damage. My Cicada X-5 can also rack up 400-500 damage.

PGI is not going to re-scale 'mechs. They said it'd be too much work. I'm OK with the Spider being small, but other 'mechs that are too big, like the Cicada, or the Awesome, need some sort of buff.

If the Spider is "too good" for a light 'mech, then the answer is NOT to nerf the Spider. It's to buff other lights and mediums, since the Spider is not some sort of death-dealing dervish.

You missed 4 or 5 posts by PEEF where he wrote relatively coherent, eloquent posts with valid arguments, citing his own accomplishments in order to gain credibility, and was met by sarcastic posts, devoid of rational arguments, but filled to the brim with ad hominem attacks and insults, by people who couldn't muster the strength to defend their position with actual arguments, didn't have any answers for the points he made and/or felt threatened by the fact that some stranger on the internet is better at this computer game than them.

I would like to see PEEF vs some of the Light jockeys in the Law. Just to see how they all stack up. Doc gave him a Nod an he placed top 10 Medium in the first Tournament in a (Near)stock Centurion. He comes a crossed as being an arrogant(young) sod, but his skills are credible.

a while back i seen a post from some one saying that player elo should be listed with your name in forum posts. i think it is a good idea. it would shut up the big mouths that pose as the best in the game or those that mock them for their insolence.

That was me who said that, and I'm the biggest proponent of public Elo. I know where mine will be, and there won't be any more questions about who's lying and who's telling the truth.

1. Mech scaling is borked.
2. The Spider is fine. The hit detection/box around it is borked.

Rage away. The people that have taken the time to read the forums and have ran Spiders know what's going on. Other than that all anyone can is wait because PGI has stated the Spider's. hit detection is a known issue.

i agree with you %100. but there are certain people in this post that will state that your a s#!t player you have no idea what your talking about then try to show how superior thay are in comparison to every one else that post on the forums and plays the game.

and there are those that will ask you to provide factual information and/or empirical data to back those claims up, which you'll ignore or eqivocate.

Any intelligent developer will balance the game for the majority of the player base, not the .01% that are super try-hards. PEEF's opinion means jack because he does not represent the target market. There are other games out there where the devs DO balance for high level competition and that is because those games are marketed and successful as "e-sports", MWO is not one of those games. If you want to tryhard and play a game where the competitive players set the pace and tone of updates, go play CS, SC2 or LoL. MWO will never become an e-sport because it is simply not popular enough.

Being good at this game in it's current state is like being 1st place in the special olympics. I know you think very highly of yourself PEEF but being good at MWO isn't really much of an impressive feat and your credibility doesn't give you much mileage.

yes correct and correct......

but reguardless of the date the video was posted or who posted it i dont remember seeing any thing in patch notes stating spider hit boxes being fixed. from memory only HSR issues were addressed and both mechs in this video are standing still. you ask for evidence this show a hit box issue which hasnt been addressed and you still act like a arrogant *****.

I made not attempts to claim that 'spot' was not valid or anything else of that nature, not has anyone else. What has been stated is, it is most highly unlikely THAT 'spot' is the cause of the problems and complaints in regards to the hit detection and damage application to spiders. It was also pointed out that 'spot' is present on several mechs, including the spider. Where as it has been your 'camps' claim that the spider itself should be 'addressed' or removed from play because of 'hitbox issues' (get that last word, implication being multiple) when data, and pgi's own statement that the leading cause seems to be the HSR. To that end it has been Peef & I, and our 'camp' who have been trying to collect the information and data for more accurate assessment, to that end asking and cajoling people to collect videos and provide relevant information rather than merely troll the forums and post the tripe as the second quote above.

So arrogant, yes I am...because I try to do my research before I complain or comment on something. I understand the concept & value of testing something and how to do it. Yes, I'll be snarky and I'll toss insults...when the target displays ignorance and stupidity. Be productive, show some signs of intelligence and forethought and I might treat you like a semi-sentient being instead of a troglodyte with a terminal case of cranial-****** inversion.

well for starters i didnt say to remove the spider from the game untill its fix so please dont put word in my mouth. second you say you and peef are the only ones trying to collect data as evidance......well where is it???

so fare in this tread the only things ive seen come from either you or peef are insults and threats. i made a post yesterday apologizing thinking that i some how offended you...i retract my apology. and if you think the ability to throw out a bunch of insults some how places you in a higher intelligence bracket then you are a bigger tw!t then first presumed! pull your head in fool!

Immaturity
  • Denial often is expressed through immature behavior, which can leave a person incapable of dealing with life's responsibilities.
