Some people apparently seem to think that "lead the target" means chasing with the reticule *in front of the target,* i.e. leading the target with the reticle instead of putting the reticle at a fixed point where you think the target will be and timing the shot.

Trust me, this Marine knows how to lead the target.
Happy site picture, Happy site alignment! ^_^

why use a Gauss or ac/20? To me it's a waste of ammo. I have an ac20 on my Protector and never used it against a light. There are better methods and more efficient methods to kill them. If that's all you have is gausses, than rebuild your mech. This game aggrevates me alot because of stupid ass **** like that.

I did not see it listed in OP (maybe I missed it)...

If the light mech has jump jets and is using them, aim where they are going to land. When they land they are stopped for a hot second, and that hot second is your chance to one shot them (love 'jumpers' for this reason). Works for not just lights but any mech using jump jets.

TL:DR?

lead your target, as with any shooter. compensate for lag as well as projectile speed

As I've said before.

Not everybody knows what "lead your target means." Some think it means "constantly trying to keep the reticule just a little ahead of the target to account for weapons travel time," which is just as bad as chasing to keep the reticule ON the exact target.

The OP is for greenhorns, not people who KNOW what "lead your target" means.
