You're very new. That's why you can't see it.

True, I am very new. ;) Atleast to BT in this form.. But I am not new to the whole Community thing, or online gaming - and from what I've seen, Heard, played, etc - I have a hard time understanding the bile. Thats all.

I wonder how weapons fire will register on seismics. If it is the same red dot then you can really freak people watching seisimcs out. Wonder if that is for laser fire or just ballistics...

Yay! Air and artillery strikes are now more useful, maybe ... ;)

Heh. Well, so what? I dont really have a problem with a dev telling a player off - if deserved. It beats BB's way of handling things, which is stonewalling and lying about updates. That from a game that you _bought_. My basic Point here is that it seems like quite a few people seem to WANT to take offense at Everything the devs do. Which amounts to nothing but alot of whining - if there's a genuine gripe, then critizise away, but throwing a tantrum because a scheduled update is running an hour longer than expected is just silly. And they DID warn us that it'd take longer than usual.

No one is "throwing a tantrum". And you should really learn the history of a company's customer interactions before you go spouting off. Your extremely limited experience with "BloodBowl" does not really give you any basis to criticize.

AWESOME!

I use JJs for the agility and movement boost, so this will probly help with that alot, or it sounds like it should. Never did much poptarting with directfire weapons atleast, ill do it with my catapults so my LRMs can clear obstacles or to get a lock, but never PPC+gauss type poptarting. JJs make it very difficult for lights to circle strafe me without getting hit, i wonder how the forward movement will affect this aspect of jumpjet use. I bet this will help with JJ mechs getting stuck in the map.

I do hope the shake deters sniper builds poptarting. But i rarely see alot of this, and when i do, getting around the obstacle they are poptarting from isnt usually too difficult.

All in all, sounds good. Lots of new gameplay if this and the siesmic change get in together.

Now they need to revamp/remove ghost heat.

Actually since poptarting has pretty much been resolved and the PPC was brought back to sane heat levels, why the hell do we have ghost heat and Gauss nerf at all at this point? Get rid of both hackish cludges and the game will improve.

Nah, it looks like their "server maintenance and firewall changeout" took longer than expected. That's why we couldn't login to the forums until 12pm PDT.

I think everyone just needs to take a breath... Delays like this are common. Not only with MWO, but games all across the spectrum.

I honestly don't see anyone freaking out. Just a couple people being snarky about it.

I would hope not. People need to save the big freak outs for when PGI really muffs something up! ;)

Gameplay
  • UAC/5 ammunition per ton now matches the AC/5 at 30 rounds per ton.

Sorta surprised that since the ammo quantity is now the same, they don't just make both guns run off the same ammo. It probably the same ammo, just the feed mechanism is different. But the feed mechanism is part of the gun.

Hah, a ton of PGI's latest actions have gotten on my last nerve, but the server downtime is not one of them. I am happy to have a new map but overall content wise this patch is lacking. I have no issue with how long the maintenance is taking.

I should say, I don't see anyone freaking out about the delay... although there has been some freaking out in response to the people making snarky comments.

I guess there are certain folks who are conditioned to respond violently to any perceived criticism of PGI, real or not.

About the atlas changes. Does this mean that the atlas's weapons on every variant but the founder variant has a different visual graphic in the mechlab? You know, like the jaeger and highlander when you switch a weapon?

Yeah, after someone mentioned that they posted an update on twitter.

I work in marketing, so I feel a bit obligated to have a twitter account just to research things in my industry. I have zero tweets so far, as I'm not the principle pr guy. I have it set for zero notifications, because the vast majority of PGI tweets are the equivalent of spam, much like their facebook posts telling me to go check out the latest NGNG uninformative softball question hugging session with the devs.

As a marketing professional, it's pretty much a customer outreach fail if you're relying on an incredibly small portion of your playerbase to relay important information that you only communicate to platforms that aren't used by your principal audience. The games been in open beta for a year, and 25+ year olds who didn't use twitter a year ago still aren't using it for the most part. Yet their communications team still insists on using it for important notifications.

It's called bad customer relations..........which incidentally is one of the principle complaints that founders and other dedicated money-spenders have voiced.

Don't listen to me though. I'm just a marketing professional responsible for communicating content and features to over 1 million registered users of my company's services. ;)

Maybe a good idea would have been to distribute the messages through the.....LAUNCHER. That way EVERYBODY will see it.
You open the game, there pops up the important data right in front of your face, no forum or social networking needed just a pair of eyes.

Theoretically...

We will see, once the game comes up.

Could be using a different cannister which is part of the fast loading mechanism. The rounds might be the same but they are in a different package.
