I just wonder...where do you see a promise? I see a line about their plan to deliver community warfare over the next 6 months in three phases. I don't see promises. Plan are plans, not promises on what will be delivered. I fully expect that in 6 months, we will have parts of CW, and maybe even 3 phases, but for sure things will get left off and deferred and etc. And this is not me defending PGI, its me understanding the software industry as a whole, especially if their SDLC is Agile/Sprint based as they say they work. That's the whole purpose. Be flexible but still be able to deliver something that works and can be improved on.

If I was sure I could post the pcgamer article from last year I would. It states that we would have CW in Winter/Spring of 2012, which was six months from the articles date, with Clans invading in the Summer.

To me that translates into: We plan to deliver CW in six months.

Which is exactly what they are saying now. So can you see why some of us are slightly perturbed that after a year of development, and six months after their projected release date, we have nothing new about CW? A year of development gave us nothing but a power point presentation.

If it was running on their test servers and they were having issues with it, fine. Delay the release and get it working. But CW is still on paper.

Incidently I'd like to point out, why am I shedding light on this to forum user's and there's no official announcement on the forum here about it, specifically that video link to NGNG's Twitch?

It's nice to see how so many people like to come to the forums and just complain about things. PC Gamer publishes an article and the immediate response is a bunch of complaining. I honestly think that people don't believe in the existence of things they cannot see with their own eyes.

They haven't released UI 2.0 yet? That means they haven't been working on it, obviously.
No CW yet? Oh, that's because CW is a lie, and only meant to tease people into continuing to play the game.
Bacteria are too small to see with the naked eye? Well, certainly you're getting sick from an infection of evil spirits, because if you can't see bacteria then they obviously don't exist.

Why should we believe anything this team says? They've already gone back on things they've said before, they've already said these same things before. What makes you think this time it will be different? Seriously? Why should we believe that they mean what they say at this time at that it's not merely their position at this time?
Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice,,, well can't get fooled again....

I uninstalled again for the time being. Needed the space on my ssd for some other games. I been testing on and off since beta began and I will return again when there is some new and substantial to try.

I also pledged to star citizen but only at the mercenary level. I worry those devs maybe facing pledge creep. I understand they are working with a module system for developing new features, but they are getting a long laundry list of things to code and balance. It has mostly been alot of hype and talking points, but it sounded to amazing to not get in at the ground level.

Same promises made 1&1/2+ years ago and still waiting.

Right. and they had nothing else to accomplish in the past 2 years that was more important to do first, like finish the mech combat part...

You're talking about support hotlines, not forums.

Forums can also serve to share ideas and experiences. People coming to find information, not because they are unhappy, but because they are curious and enthusiastic. And other people providing such information, because they want to help others, or get recognition, help grow the game. It's a also a tool just to get to know other players and make friends.

Of course people that are unhappy also come to the forums. But happy people have just as many and strong reasons to go the forums, too.

The first time I personally come to the forums of any game is usually because I eager to learn and eager to share. MW:O was no different. There was a new mechwarrior title on the block, I invested a bit of money in it, it was beta-testing times. Errors to report, feedback to be given, design ideas to be shared, figuring out all the new stuff. Happy times.

Care to give us your musings as to the reasons why PGI have failed to release a single screenshot or video of work in progress on CW in over two years?

I've never known a situation where a dev team has been working on such an eagerly anticipated project for such a period of time without regular updates, screenies, vids and other snippets of information designed to keep the expectant waiting community moist with anticipation.

Look at the other games in development or in beta and the amount of available imagery they have on their upcoming content.....

for real.
Its actually shocking the lack of stuff for us to mull over. WIP, anything, its as if there is no passion over there. IMO, if there was, something would link out or someone would make sure it happens.. I mean we get absolutely nothing, its insane. Look at star citizen, that might be an extreme example but for petes sake its what FANS WANT.
what we get is nothing.

also, is it me or is forum traffic down? This convoluted website is just a crime. They try and keep the trolls at bay, and instead ruin the website.
I just dont get it. Did they ever even visit the mwll website, such a tiny community that actually did it right nine times out of ten.

i just dont get it... How ...... can...... they..... still....... be...... hiring?/???
how is that possible?
I stg can we please ask that question next ATD? if they dont take up the softball the community foolishly gave them to get rid of atd and replace it with some nonsense of their choosing/.

Also look at War Thunder, Elder Scrolls online, Elite Dangerous, GTAV online, Titanfall, Hawken, Neverwinter and others....

They are shouting about their projects from the rooftops and releasing loads of screenies and vids about their upcoming stuff......

Going with Star Citizen, they released this video of their PRE-ALPHA hangar module..........

It's basic, incomplete and full of bugs (in the footage the player climbs up an invisible ladder) but do you know what? We don't care! We want to see work in progress no matter how "complete" it is.

It's quite ironic that PGI can go for launch with an incomplete game and yet fail to release a single snippet of footage of community warfare under the guise of "we haven't finished it yet".

Yeah right. :P

I stopped accepting PGI at their word when they PROVED that their word meant nothing. PGI even knows it, that is why you only see them on the forums once a month. That is why PGI communicates with everyone besides their player base. PGI gives you promises of a metagame while shaking you down for more cash.

yea look at those who have multi-millions-heavy investors who DEMAND a proper and wide-spread campaign before the games were even starting to be produced... GTA V? you dare to compare a 100million $ project within THE franchise of the century with a 40 man companies lowbudget project? a project that took more money over the pre-production phase than MWO will ever take? wow, yea, really fits...

they stopped communicating with us when they realized, that it just makes no sense to to commnunicate with people who only read what they want to read... i for my part was able to monitor that since the end of CBT... more people, more pressure, less people who understood when they told us "hey, we are small, things will take time" and finally they misstake to make concessions to a more and more childish crowd... the biggest misstake they ever made was to give in to the massive pressure of the (way to early) incoming OBT crowd...

GTAV has heavy investors but you spectaularly failed to mention some of the other games in my list in your failed attempt to counter my observations. Gaijin enetertainment (War Thunder) are of similar size. Braben's Frontier developments are making the new Elite off the back of a 1.7 million kickstarter campaign (much less than PGI got off the founders) and the Hawken team are about half the size of PGI.

And please, pray tell, how the size and budget of a development company stops you from releasing visual references of work in progress?

Are you suggesting that a dev team needs to have the budget of GTAV in order to release a single screenshot of a project that they've said they've been working on for over two years?
