I would recommend that you don't buy ANY new engine for your Phract. I'd recommend you try to save up your money, then buy a second variant that comes without the XL. You'll need a second one to master the one you have anyway, and this way you can just swap the engines to play with different builds rather than shelling out half the cost of a new mech just for an engine you may or may not like.

Maybe this is what I'll try to do. I just started to learn to play this game and C-bill comes pretty slow, but I will try. Thank you, and thanks for all the help, mates.

What will happened if I sell 1 Kit Fox (or any Clan mech) stripped from all Omnipods?
I was playing in mechlab and inventory and selling price is the same for fully equiped mech compared to
mech with only head and torso left (no omnipods)? Confused...

When you go to sell a clan mech, there is the "base price" and if you want to sell the equipment or omnipods there are checkboxes.

Am empty omnimech and a fully equipped omnimech still have the same base price, the fully equipped one will only have a different sell price if you include the equipment/pods by ticking the checkboxes.

Same deal for IS mechs, a stripped mech and a full mech still have the same chassis value, the only difference is the equipment.

Was configuring my Kit Fox S to a varient I wanted and was trying to add ECM but couldn't. Do you just check the box on the side? Also tried putting an active probe on it but everytime I did that I somehow wound up with one jump jet on the right torso,, that may be a bug I guess so I will try with that one again then send in a support ticket. Thanks for the help.

For ECM, you'll need the KFX-C RA omnipod. It has an ECM hardpoint.

The other sounds like a bug.

ECM goes in the right arm of the Kit Fox and only if you buy the Kit Fox C omnipod right arm; thee is no checkbox for ECM. (checkboxes are for lower arm actuator & hand actuator)

It was a box I saw on the lower right hand side of the screen. I guess it indicates if the mech has it or not when in the select mech screen if you choose it.

Correct, that's just a readout, not an interactive box.

(Welcome to MWO, BTW!)

Hi, while meditating about AMS a question came up to my mind...

UAV works in a shape of ellipsoid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellipsoid ) , conical, or cylinder in the game code?

If it is conical, one can jump with ECM in his mech on a head of UAV firing mech without being noticed until the last second...

I just noticed that the Forum sections show strange numbers to me and I'm not sure if they are wrong, or I miss something.

The Rules&Guidelines show 7 topics, 3 replies. There are 7 posts in that section - fine.
the New Player Help shows 2 topics 48 replies. there are over 80 page of posts in that section - so what do these numbers mean?
Same for Guides and Strategy: 4 topics, 88 replies
and inside there, the Battlemechs section with 3 topcis and 64 replies.
But in there, the light/med/heavy/assault sections have hundreds of topics, so it seems correct.

Does anyone know why some sections show only a handfull topics, even tho they have a lot more?

No idea, seems like it's been like that since the server migration.

Old Mw4 pilot from the heady days of the vengeance league and the bible bashing XFracture :)
Not finding this game easy to play with mouse & keyboard , most ppl play with a joystick ?. And does it make it easier ?.

Mouse & keyboard tends to give you much more precise aim than a joystick.

Some players do use joysticks (and other devices like game controllers) but the majority are using a mouse.

Keep in mind: you have to optimize mouse sensitivity, smooth and acceleration for best perfomance. Use testing grounds to check .

Question about the omnipodst again. Noticed when looking at the right arm omnipodst for the Kit Fox that it also had an energy hard point. Now is this an additional hard point to the two in the arm already there or does it cut me down to one because of the ability to add ECM?

It cuts down too one energy. Its like timbers Left Torsos, do you want missile with one energy or one balistic or another missile. Some omnis has flat out less hardpoints but that could mean better perks, like 10% of bilistic cooldown(*Arm on Summoner)

Dont forget that arm on kitfox can also mount 3 Anti Missile Systems.

I have a question. Want to purchase a colour but got confused.

What is the difference between Obsedian Black and Hot Rod Black?
