The Vindicator AA has the PPC velocity and generation quirks. Do these only affect standard PPC's or do they affect ER PPC's too?
Thank you in advance.

if a quirk mentions a specific weapon (e.g. PPC) it only applies to that specific weapon, not variants of it, so if the quirks are for PPC only, they do not apply to ERPPC, (same with modules, an ERPPC module will only work with ERPPC, not PPC or Clan ERPPC). however if something mentions energy weaponry that would apply to all Lasers, PPCs and Flamers.

so the Vindicator AA, has a 40% faster PPC projectile speed, it recharges 12.5% faster (energy cool down) and produces 20% less heat (10% energy heat gen + 10% PPC heat gen)

Is there any mech beside the Vindi that have HUGE PPC velocity bonus?
I like med mech, I like energy weapons, I like PPC.... with high-ping it seem like only the vindi has quirk that make ppc playable for me plus it looks so cooooool... but again, alot of people complaining about it even after the quirk :(

The BJ-3 has similar bonuses as the Vindicators, a couple panthers have massive buffs, the TDR-9S has huge ERPPC buffs and the CDA-3C has truly ridiculous ERPPC quirks (but can only mount one and kindof sucks).

All quirks displayed handily here.

Thank you!
I just checked them. The BJ-3 is kinda slow while the CDA-3C doesn't have JJ.... but it does have HUGE ppc quirk, I'll consider it :)
Also the Panther is interesting too and it does look awesome (which is very important to me, I like beautiful machines :D) also I wonder between Panther and Firestarter which one is better to learn how to play light?

And one more question about the Ice Ferret... for me it's just seem... odd. It's just like a light with size and armor of a medium and seriously lack firepower. Am I missing something ?

The BJ-3 I just bought and...meh. I switched to lasers.

The Panther's goofy. You want to learn to play lights, Firestarters all the way.

You're not wrong about the Ice Fridge, but quirks on Tuesday....

Quick question: Is that normal that after 1-N hours I will get totally crashed to desktop with no reason?
* Before I thought it was affected by alt-tabbing, but no, it happens after longer time. The game's memory management failed maybe?

Run the 64bit client and Dx11 if you can. The 32bit client is likely to crash when the game use over 3.2 gb ram just like many other 32bit programs

Dx11 works better than Dx9, at least with 64bit OS (huge performance increase in Dx11 mode for me, I'm using a laptop with i5 4210m, 4 gb of ram and Nvidia 840M performance similar to the old GTS 450 on desktop, win 8.1 64bit)

I do not know what causes it, I know most matches start with at least 1 disconnect, who usualy reconnects quickly, unfortunately I do not know what causes this.

there used to (1.5+ years ago) be a bad memory leak which meant I had to restart the client every 3 games or get really low frame rates (sometimes got as bad as 3 seconds per frame, yes seconds per frame not frames per second if I tried a 4th match) but that was fixed before launch. these days it is extremely rare for me to crash to desktop.

IE, where the hell do I see what is the NARC range? NARC missile weapon? nope, no range mentioned. NARC ammo perhaps? nope, no range mentioned. Oh! Maybe in the NARC enhancement module! nope, no range mentioned. Anywhere?

Range of all weapons will vary based on the mech using it, the equipment you are using, etc. And in all game modes when you have launched into a match you will find your weapon's ideal range on the bottom right. Any time that weapon is yellow, you can still hit but it is no longer an ideal range... and if it's black you have no chance in heck of doing anything even if you hit the enemy.

I know what you're saying, but PGI has thrown in a LOT of variables that affect your range.
A NARC in a Raven 3L is not the same as a NARC in a Raven 2X, is not the same as a NARC in a Hunchback 4J, is not the same as a NARC in an Awesome 8R, is not the same as a NARC in a Victor, is not the same as a NARC in a Trebuchet, etc.

Examples:
NARC
Base range: 450 meters.
Locust 3S: 517.5 meters.
Commando 2D: 495 meters.
Oxide (Hero Jenner) 483.75 meters.
Any other Jenner: 450 meters.

Those same mechs... + range module top level if it wasn't missing...
Locust 3S: 562.5 meters.
Commando 2D: 540 meters.
Oxide (Hero Jenner) 528.75 meters.
Any other Jenner: 495 meters.

So it'd be really hard to have something that covers every single contingency.
(Last edit to note: All other Jenners shoot missiles a lot faster than the Oxide can.)

This happens frequently with my Firefox and Chrome, actually. Wish I could make them 64 bit.

Use firefox + Adblock plus addon = memory ussage solved! You can open over 20 tabs without worrying about crash. The downside is it turns from a memory-hog into a CPU-hog depend on how many tabs is opening and some very few sites wont load properly without turning of Adblock plus :)

Ok, so back with the sexy machines. How good is the Enforcer? it looks interesting, I see people playing it like a Centurion... but jumpy and not many of them out there

And is there any benefits for joining a faction or Merc Corp?

I do use it. But I also have a habit of using crashes to save tabs, and opening about a hundred tabs.

You can only get the Enforcer through cash at the moment, which is why there isn't so many of them. With some battles alongside and agaisnt Lordred, I gotta tell you that thing tanks unusually well and that's without the jumping.

At the moment it's hard to say if you're even joining a merc corp or faction, as we're getting part of one and part of the other... without any of the distinguishing elements shown here.

So at the moment beyond incentive pay for the teams that are losing or lacking, "Nope".
That could change when PGI gets around to it.

I'm running amd with amd r9 280 which support dx11. It does no matter whether you use dx9/10/11 at all, (as far I'm making games myself, and when you get dx11 into your hands you can make game run better, but you won't hide against your app), but still I haven't seen anyone else who suffer from total game crash after long time. It always happen when game is loaded.

PS: Does the game client mount itself into 32/64 bit regarding the OS or it is needed to run manualy?
Ps2: From personal exp., such bugs are worst as they appear after time and are usualy memory related.

From the launcher on the top right there is a setting button next to [ _ ] [ x ]
Click it and it will drop a menu, you'll see a 32bit and 64bit option

People who have played some game that has a lot resource load (mostly mod-supported like Skyrim, oblivion, Fallout 3, new vegas etc... ) are very familiar with this memory-related crash problem

Side note: in MWO, the most effective "fix" for 32bit user is to lower texture setting to low/med since it's the one eating memory most. Also increase virtual memory does help a bit, but not much

Kurita is heavily "samurai" oriented, where as Liao is influenced by Chinese communism. So for actual feel, in the lore at least, Kurita wins hands down.

your English is fine, unfortunately I do not know if or when the game will support Russian, and I am not aware of any official announcements about that subject.

at the bottom of the forum main page there is an international forum section, is there a Russian subforum? if there is that may be a better place to start, or keep an eye out for the next "town hall meeting" with Russ, head of PGI and put the question in the questions thread when it apperes, or if you are on Twitter ask the question here:
https://twitter.com/MechWarriorF2P
or at Russ's twitter here:
https://twitter.com/russ_bullock

and you may get an answer
