I seem to be receiving a lot CT hits. How are people able to be so accurate? Skills (twitch reflex etc), set up as in resolution mouse sensitivity et al, better ping (mine ~ 117ish + can't recall high end ATM), poor position (highest probibility IMHO).

I assume you know the concept and principle of spreading shots and tanking with the more useless sides of your mech, like the left arms of Centurions and both arms of the BNC-3M/3E?

the Mech you are using can have a big effect on that, some Mechs have much larger center torsos than others, but yes, all the above can also be factors

Have a look here: http://mwomercs.com/...x-localisation/
There you can see the hitboxes for the different 'Mechs (although I have no idea if these got updated after the last hitbox adjustments, but most of them should be still correct)

try retyping your username and password, make sure caps lock or (if on a laptop) num lock are not on,

if those do not work what error message is it giving you?

Later version: http://mwomercs.com/...x-localization/

edit: some changes to the catapult and jenner were rolled back a little so the side torso hitboxes in the images are not quite accurate.

Since 2013? Too much to log in this thread. Better off playing a few games and get an impression that way.

Why can't I use a mech I just bought in Faction Warfare? It isn't listed on the available mechs to pick for a drop.

Maybe you have buyed an IS-Mech? If you play Clan Wolf, you only can use Clan-Mechs.

It's target designation, based on which ones were spotted first, and we usually use NATO designations for them

F- Foxtrot

So if you hear someone say "Charlie CT crit" they mean the enemy mech with the designation "C" has a critically damaged CT.

Fixed it for you. :)

As someone else stated, you may have bought a mech outside of your faction.

Every faction has a "grand alliance". Each "grand alliance" uses certain mechs. The Houses (Davion, Marik, Liao, Kurita, Steiner, and FRR) are all Inner Sphere (IS for short), and use Inner Sphere specific mechs. The Clans (Jade Falcons, Wolf, Ghost Bear and Smoke Jaguar) are part of the Clans, and use Clan specific mechs.

You can easily find out what mechs belong to what factions simply by using your organization tabs in your Mech Select screen, as well as in the Shop organization tabs (the should be near the top of those screens in game). Make sure you are buying the correct faction mechs for your chosen faction when you play Faction Warfare (commonly called Community Warfare or CW for short).

None of these faction restrictions apply outside of CW. You can use any mech you want freely in Quick Play.

*Warning: CW is considered hard mode, and should only be entered when one is fully prepared. It is not easy, and a lot of teamwork is required to do well in it. If you are asking questions like this, you may not be ready for CW just yet.

PS: Use Smurfy to premake mechs before you buy. It also conveniently sorts mechs out by faction already.

Hey, Been playing almost a week now and my question is - Are the timberwolf quirks good or bad? I see it has the quirks +% to laser duration, and -% to engery cooldown. At first I assumed they were good quirks - adding duration to a laser would increase the overall damage done by an equal amount over the course of that laser while keeping DPS the same. And lowering cooldown on energy weapons would allow quicker follow up shots.

However, as I played more, I noticed a distinct color difference between good and bad quirks - these ones were in red. Could it be that the laser duration was extended and the total damage kept the same, thus lowering DPS? Is -% energy cooldown actually increasing the time between shots? The timberwolf is very laser-friendly and ballistic-poor loadout wise, why gimp a mech of 50% of its useable weapons? This is what is causing me to hesitate in changing by belief that they are negative traits despite being in red.

Thanks for clearing this up!
