That's if it actually uses a formula. I just finished a game where I did 470 damage and 267 match score (top on the team for both and with 2 KMDD on our only team kills)... we lost and I had no change in PSR. A few days ago I did a match with 1 damage and 15 points of team damage (and 2 kill assists; ROTFL)... we won and I had no change in PSR. I mention these two games as exceptions, because PSR seems to be related to team victory more than anything else.
I started the game with a raven, and zero damage was my most common score. PSR proceeded to the middle of the tier 5 and stopped. I bought the Atlas pack and my score steadily increased to just below tier 4. I started to play other mechs and my score dropped steadily until it disappeared completely from the display bar. All the while I would say that I was getting better at the game, regarding things like no longer walking into instant death situations, positioning, mech design, tactics, understanding roles etc. It has come back a bit, but hovers near the bottom.
My accuracy is less here than with other games, some of which will be due to running it in a small window on a system intended for work rather than gaming. But I suspect there is another element that I haven't figured out because of the way my torso seems to lag when I move the mouse. Also I tend to die a lot doing things that would be good in other tiers, but tend to get me dead with tier 5 allies... though I presume that is a common experience.
Knowing how PSR is calculated would be a huge help in figuring out what I need to do to get better.
