Thanks, I was at a loss. I have been AFK'd 3 times in 25 games and did not know this, so I stuck in that proverbial stream without visible means of propulsion.

Frankly, I don't remember it ever working. I just use Google with the site:mwomercs.com/forums operator.

It has not worked in years, what Horseman suggested is the best practice.

Somehow not being able to get the search function for their forum to work, doesn't inspire confidence in a company whose livelihood consist of programming computer code. Posted Image

Thanks for telling me.

It's not their core product, and just FYI web development vs game development do not substantially overlap in terms of skillsets . Think aircraft technicians certified for fighter jets vs ones certified for civilian cargo airplanes.

Actually, it's fairly common to license third party CMS and forum engine, then pay another company to customize then to your order (see: not your core product)

Sales happen pretty much at random, sometimes they are celebrating a certain event and they are often themed, they are rarely advertised much in advance and it could be almost anything on sale.

if there is a sale this weekend it is likely to be announced in the announcements forum within the next few hours, but not all sales are advertised, many times there have been an unannounced short term sale on something.

Ahhh! I've been so tempted to get one of those mech packs to sorta kick start myself. But I feel like the day I purchase it would be the day it goes on sale lol It's kinda hard to decide whether buying or not.

Thanks for answering tho!

I wouldn't expect a major sale any time soon. There was a pretty large one last month.

The Solaris pack might be worthwhile - you get seven C-Bill boosted mechs(which is a big thing) and a month of premium for $30. Normal packs for $20 contain premium time but no boosted mechs unless you pay for add-ons (typically another $15 for hero variant) and standalone heroes ($15-$25 depending on class) don't come with premium time.

The big sales are around the Holidays so.....

Can someone break down the pluses of the UAC?

For the chance of jamming and the extra heat what extra damage do you get and how do you have to use your triggers to get it? Can you hold the trigger down? Or is that the best way to jam it.

The semi way I understand it is that a UAC will sometimes do a double shot.

Higher burst potential than normal ACs and higher average DPS. ACs are sustained-DPS weapons, UACs are burst-DPS weapons.

If you hold down fire, the weapon will fire exactly the same as a normal AC would. That's not how UACs are used: instead of holding them down, you double-tap by pressing fire again before the weapon's cooldown ends. This will fire the weapon again, and it is this shot that comes with a jam chance.

Small caveat to note is that if you double-tap very quickly, larger UACs may produce ghost heat against themselves (cf: UAC-20).

UAC's also use more shells to get to the same damage as their normal counterpart.

AC-20, 1 slug, 20 damage.
UAC20, X slugs, 20 damage. IF they all hit. then add in double tap for additional round of X slugs for 20 damage if they all hit.

If I am not entirely off base the CUAC-20 fires 4 5pt damage slugs, if you double tap it fires 4 more and may jam. UACs have a tendency to spread damage over the target. My Highlander IIC-KP has two CUAC-10s, one CERPPC, and 4xSRM-6 w/o Artemis so it spreads damage all over. If it were not for the range advantage I would be tempted to switch to CLBX-10s.

yes, that is how it works. And if you double tap too quickly, it will count as firing 2 AC20's and ghost heat itself :)

(IS UAC20's do this as well)

this only applies for the Inner Sphere AC10 and AC20 which are single shot, the IS UAC5 and UAC2 fire a single shell, and the Clan ACs fire the same number of shells as Clan UACs

I love the one-shot/round/shell AC's that the IS uses.

So to get the extra damage I have to double tap....ugh....

I've been using 2 AC5's and 2 LBX 10's.

I guess I need to go to the turrets at the academy and test the extra damage.

Is it true they are removing supply packs? In that case what happens to left over keys and packs?

Hopefully they do not remove Supply Caches. I have yet to win a Mech or Omnimech from one but have won some good items. I regularly sell the items not deemed necessary this provides a C-Bill boost of 50-300K at a time.
