Sounds like your child or room mate took advantage of you leaving your account logged in and blew a bunch of your money & GXP , Keltan.
My question: I thought that at some point I read that engine heat sinks were a bit more efficient than having doubles mounted somewhere else. I moved them around, and the readout remains the same, but I swear I read a post that said they were slightly more efficient. True or false?
The untouchable 10 are better. The free slots in your engine are counted as external heatsinks.
Q: Say I have a hero, like a Yen Lo or a Tempest that has custom paint, both pattern and colour. (IE: My Tempest has that cool "Stay Indoors" warning on the missile bay doors.) If I play with the camo spec, can I reset it back to original, or is it lost forever?

You can always reset a hero to “stock”. I use the pc gamer camo on my wang, and run my hugin black with white “raven” markings, but could revert to showroom anytime. Same with decals. The only thing you ever risk is a one shot cammo.
Between how the Omni-pod system works, and the Nova being a heavier mech...
HA!
It has nothing to do with that! It is about driving the Kit Fox underground! Or nothing to do with weight and OmniPods.
The Nova had its own things going for it. The Kit Fox used to own a niche in the game.
The Kit Fox has a +10% range (wow) and a +5% fire rate. And all three of it's AMS's are on a 16-22 armor arm. So basically they go with one decent shot.
The Nova's and here is one joke. It is the Nova-S (C) so it's AMS and AMS quirks are 2/3th from another mech. Omnipods should like this but they rarely do.
So the Nova's AMSs are in the CT, RT, and LT. So you might lose one..but they are much better protected. And they have a +30% fire rate which means they are almost like having FOUR AMSs!
I do not know about kids these days with their hippity hop music and jump jets. When I was a kid we carried our mechs into battle.
Next thing you will be telling me is that PGI put out a Piranha with FOUR AMS, lol.
Well, I now want a left Kit Fox Arm with 3 AMS and a 2nd ECM. One ECM will be set on disrupt and one on counter.
And as always PGI Santa, I'll take a Hellbringer LT with Ballistics.

Do recall that the triple Nova can only be done on the Nova S, as you have to purchase the S CT for it. Otherwise, it's only a dual AMS mech. Where as, the Kit Fox can place triple AMS on any variant. That should play a little into it. Also, the Kit Fox has ECM on the same pod as the triple AMS, so they probably didn't want to over boost that specific pod. Meanwhile, the Nova can't take ECM at all.
Each do still have their own niche in the game. I personally love my Kit Fox for things other than it's AMS. My build for it involves HLLs, ERMLs and MGs with ECM. Though, not that I think of it, the Nova could probably copy the build with only a lacking of ECM...
Sounds like your issue is either with quirks, which can always be a problem; or mech's sharing role potential.
Quirks can always be debated. As far as mechs that share similar roles, I personally am of the opinion that I'd rather have as many mechs in the game, even if some are better than others or even "share the same roles with different skins".
PS: Kit Fox is still faster, which means it can react faster to issues that arise. That means that, in theory, the Kit Fox is better at being able to move to support a teammate compared to the Nova.

Small detail:
Single Heat Sinks are 1.3 heat dissipation, anywhere.
Double Heat Sinks are 2.0 heat dissipation when integrated into your engine (NOT in the engine slots you get in engines at 275 rating or above), 1.5 otherwise. https://mwomercs.com...-1490-13dec2016 https://mwomercs.com...40-19-jun-2018/

You know by now I'm complaining to complain......I was looking through my Kit Foxes last night (I've been away from the game with back trouble) and even the Iron Dome was fitted with missiles instead of AMS. In fact, none of my 4 Kit Foxes had AMS. I'm glad they put out new variants with new hardpoint options. It has really upgraded the Kit Fox as an all-around mech and not just an AMS boat.
So I'm a little put out that the Nova AMS is better and EVERYONE in the game got one! (lol, I have 3 now)
On the bright side, I am tempted to buy that 4 AMS Piranha, now.
Jokes aside, I really like the Nova for what it is, but I have tried out a number of builds and the damage output of the Mech is not all that impressive, nor is its surviveability. All it has going for it is the 3 AMS with 30% fire rate, essentially operating as 3.9 AMS. Before the last two weeks, I rarely could bring the Nova out, because there just were not enough missiles to warrant the reduced combat ability when compared to my other Mechs.
But about 2 weeks ago LRM useage went through the roof. Even my Nova could not keep up with all that. I had a match where I shot down over 1600 missiles and my team still died. So I took the middle road. Bought a Crab 27 with 2 AMS. I am currently skilling that up and finding it a good compromise between protecting others with my AMS and actually being viable in combat myself. Try it out, one of those days. Enough Crabs on the Battlefield will be able to overwhelm anything.
And do not worry, the Kitfox still has its uses. In the late game it is an awesome way to take out all those bright red Mechs. You just need to survive long enough.

How many "One Shot" camos do I need to get to unlock them permanently for chassis? Some time ago I have purchased certain "One Shot" camo for every variant of single mech chassis. Later PGI introduced few new variants for that chassis and I have noticed that I have that "One Shot" camo unlocked for those new variants as well. Also I have noticed that I can freely swap between different camos and that that singular "One Shot" camo never disappears from unlocked list on any mech variant and acts like it wouldn't be "One Shot" anymore. So, how many "One Shot" camos do I need to get to unlock them permanently for chassis?

None. A one shot cammo applies once to a single mech, and that is it. It does not matter how many of them you purchase for said mech or other mechs. It will never become unlocked.
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that at some point you accidentally purchases a permanent unlock of that cammo pattern for the chassis, or it was earned as an event reward. There is no way to have a one shot become a permanent unlock. Well, short of accidentally purchasing an unlock, or some strange bug I've never heard of.
I was a bit surprised at the current event, seeing as there are events that ask you to do X damage with ballistic, lasers or missile weapons. I do not think I have noticed anything like this weapon system event before. Did I just miss this, or is it a new functionality?

New function added in this patch. Beforehand they were limited to specific weapon systems, rather than type.

I do actually have this permanent unlock for two different "One Shot" camos on two different chassis. I have never bought those camos in permanent unlock form for those mechs, yet I can change them at will and they won't disappear(can be reapplied without MC costs).

Can't happen.
Unless you literally accidentally bought the unlock by mistake, claimed it as an event prize, or crashed into a major bug... There is no way a One Shot can ever become a permanent unlock.
Now, base cammo for things such as hero mechs or specials can be changed back to it's base at no cost. If you haven't saved in the mech lab, you can also freely change between a set of cammo and change back (provided you didn't save the changes) without cost. But a one shot never becomes a permanent unlock at any point.
So, I guess my question should become; what mech, what pattern and any screens or video of this?
There's no need for any screens as it just acts like it would be permanently unlocked. I didn't "win" that camo neither because when it became prize once I have unlocked it for different chassis and it's also unlocked there.
