WOT is the worst kind of "pay to win", premium tanks are inferior to their rivals (want proof, check their server stats), gold ammo bounces too, and "free XP" isnt since you have to pay to convert it. They offer up new tanks that are deliberately OP (looking at you french tanks) so that ppl trade in their XP to get them first, then a month later nerf the heck out of them (still looking at you, french tanks). Look at the Marder II, a long time favorite...they nerf it just as they offer up a premium D.Max. Coincidence? Lets not forget how they cater to one server and ignore the other servers (except to take their premium accounts).

Am really looking forward to this game and will gladly celebrate every way that it is not WOT.

But besides that, really enjoy this series and am looking forward to having giant space robots of the future again.

Thanks and cheers

Arteste, i think what he was looking for was when would Open Beta start? last stated date was "end of summer", which could either be end of August, as summer vacation ends for school agers, or end of September, which is end of summer, by the calendar(Sept 21 being the solstice). when it will actually be is anyone's guess, until they figure it out, themselves. would be really nice if they would start inviting non-founders, later this week or next, right up until open beta, then blast email anyone who hasn't been added yet. not sure how difficult the key generation and mailing is, but i'm sure it's workable for them.

and skeetr, it's really not relevant how those other clowns are handling their game. when you understand their are former soviet bloc, you understand why some of their stuff favors who it does. and given there are 5 times as many players in russia, for that game, as there are outside russia, big shock that they give those folks what they want and hang the rest out. money talks, and far more folks in the east are paying them than in the west and the south pacific. economics 101.

fortunately, MWO shouldn't have a need for tricks and subterfuge to generate the interest necessary to get money. it's too popular a franchise, obviously, given they went through 17 rounds of Founder closed beta invites and still had founders waiting for a key. by the end, it was probably close to 20k just in the 17 rounds of invites, and who knows how many more that got access on or after July 27. the game should be fairly well supported, from the get go, by the looks of things.

for those of you using windows xp still, get with the times its 2012 and xp was out dated years ago windows 7 is a good OS, this game isnt telling you to buy a 100$ + to play the game, you should've done it years ago so the fact that your in here complaining about something like this is pretty dumb, your saying u don't want to spend 100 on an OS you think this company wants to spend thousands making it compatible for xp? apparently if u have xp your not a gamer anyways, hey if we are making it compatible with xp lets also make it compatible with DOS and apple 1 and 2 lets all take a giant step backwards because you didn't want to get with the times.

Where to start, where to start? :-)

Windows 7 is indeed a pretty decent OS but XP continues to be used because it's arguably an even better OS. The argument about being outdated is moot, Windows 7 was outdated the day it released and this is not news, it takes years to develop an OS and before it ever releases its successor is heavily in development. It's nice that you feel it is necessary to constantly upgrade your PC and can afford to do so (it's not actually, ask business using twelve year old machines still, because they continue to work for the intended tasks). I'll leave alone your bad spelling, grammar and formatting except to say that credibility is badly damaged when you cannot master those but attempt to take a preachy line on technical matters.

I have 8G of RAM as a matter of course..

If you are still running XP then you will have to stick with MW4 or something that XP can run. If you want to play this game you are going to have to update your system. No sense in getting mad over it..

Incorrect. It has already been repeatedly confirmed as working on XP. Worse, if you were inferring something from the 8 GiB you're even more wrong, XP can address obscene amounts of RAM, it's merely a matter of licensing.

I wasnt inferring anything. Merely stated that I have 8G of RAM as a matter of course, and run WIN7. If you can get it to run on XP, then more power to you.

It's already been confirmed to run on XP. I don't use XP anymore, for a variety of reasons, I actually use Windows 7 and have 8 GiB myself. It doesn't alter the fact that he doesn't need to dump XP, certainly not to run MWO.

No XP SP3 support?

I'm not likely to pay $100+ for Win 7 to play a game when my other games run on XP.

No I won't buy a gray market copy nor will I just torrent a free copy.

A proper legit copy of Win7 is not cheap.

Because lag has nothing to do with your computer, that's why.

What is the lag due to then?

Your network connection, which is mostly likely a home internet connection via an ISP.

I'd love to invest some money into this game, but I need to find some settings that will run the game without lagging. So far I haven't found them.
