Hailz All: I suggest that if you don't like the MechWarrior Online game, don't like the cost, don't like a multitude of other things about it, please just move on, play the games you enjoy. You as a player can spend as little or as much as you like. All you really NEED to buy is 3 mech bays and invest time to play this game. Either invest minimum MC and lots of time or invest minimum time and lots of MC, that's your choices. Its painfully simple when you don't dance around quoting useless statistics. Good day. good solution. This is not a statistic this is the total cost of the game not a inference of the collection of sums.

I can understand that. They way the game is currently set up trial mechs don't really serve their original purpose. I suggested we have monthly design contests in the community. Allow one community designed mech per weight class to be added for new players in lieu of trial mechs. It allows new players to be competitive in builds from the get go and also lets vets help out the new guys. Keep the trial mechs for vets to use and try out new weight classes and chassis but all new players have access to the other designs.

Hailz all: After reading Saxie's post I got to thinking about new players and the difficulties they face. I created a new account and played as a new player and played the first 25 games. I ended up with one good mech but the lack of another mech bay was a show stopper. I would suggest that new players be allowed only TWO additional mech bays at a reduced price if using MC or if that is not acceptable new players use EXP as it is accumulated thru game play to purchase a maximum of TWO mech bays. A starter pack of sorts. Any thoughts on this idea? V/R Dinochrome.

How does an extra mech bay help the new player experience?

Hailz all: You need three mechs of the same class to upgrade to the pilot upgrades for that mech. those upgrades are very significant. Gives you a lot of performance enhancements. In addition you can sell a not so good mech and buy your next mech without selling your good designs because you have an open bay. The bays are critical for a place to keep your good fighting mech designs. V/R Dinochrome

Meh. FTP games are the cheapest in that you can play free, but also the most expensive if you want to experience all of the game content before dying of old age.

Either way, as a wise old green dude once said: Play, or play not. There is no cry.

Maybe, but I'll tell you one thing. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't start crying on their forums about it. I would simply move on to another game.

Maybe because you have no connection to that game? People who actually like something and want to improve (according to them) the game, will go on the forum and give their opinion.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to improve something that you enjoy. Naturally, people will have different opinions as to what is best for the game or franchise.

My comments are directed to those who disagree with the fundamental concepts of the game itself. Those who instead of offering actually constructive and meaningful criticism rely on the mere hatred and disapproval of the game as a whole. There is nothing about wanting to improve the game, only their need to voice their discontent overall. There is nothing to be gained or meaningful of those opinions. The answer is simple, go play another game. Move along.

The problem here is that many don't seem to understand the difference between fact and opinion. Or the fact that just because they and a few dozen who "liked" their post like an idea doesn't mean others do, nor that it is a good idea at that. Too many "i want it my way" players. The game continues to get bogged down in weird and steep balancing mechanics that just complicate things more for new players as opposed to actually leveling the playing field

I agree with you completely. The main problem is people who just want to jump on a recent bandwagon or post things like "this sucks". Those aren't very constructive. Give ideas, thoughts on how to improve something and don't attack people simply because they don't agree with you. I'm not pointing at you Rafe, I'm just pointing out a lot of what you see on the forums in general.

Just got out of a match we had a few newbies on the squad - new guys stuck in a trial mech. They have one mech currently however they want to branch off into other things. They were disheartened about how bad the grind is. I was trying to talk them into a group etc, however I think their frustration is just to a point where they will drop the game entirely.

I dont know why exactly the Devs are making the grind worse. They balanced the Cbill earnings in the complete opposite direction. We were making way to much after repair and rearm was removed. Then they swung the pendulum back the other way I guess because us vets have too many c-bills. They are killing the new crowd though....
