We need an acronym page for the newbies and older players not familiar with things like LOD with no previous mention of what LOD in game means.
BAP
LOD
PPC
MPPPC
RG
Things like that.
If i just type up a sentence and say I like to use ERPPC's in my MHQ lance while running BAP and ECM. And i out fitted my mech with C3 and.....

Now if you mention Extended Range particle projection cannons or the Man Pack ppc version your squad carries at least once in a PREVIOUS sentence/paragraph people can back track and go Oh that might be what XYZ stands for.

I wish I had found out about MWO early enough to have been a founder. /sad

Anyways, I think founders should get something special for being around then AND now. Another hanging doodad, though? You only have space for one at a time, so that is pretty worthless IMO. I think upgrading their founders mechs and/or making special forum badges that combine the two packages ("Founding Phoenix") would be cool, even though I wouldn't get one either way.

I think it would be cool if they had a forum avatar [if they don't i'll make my own] that displayed on the one half the founder status. And on the right the level of the phoenix package. Shame you cant change your ingame micro tag next to your name on the game load in screen.

Sounds great, any chance we'll be getting the ability to sort our mechs in the mech bay? I'd love to be able to put them together by tonnage...

I probably own too many mechs...

I assume UI 2.0 will have plenty of ways to sort your mechs.

I hope UI 2.0 will have some way of sorting my mechs  but then I hope a lot of things.

Note: this is neither a dig at PGI nor whiteknighting  just me laughing at my own reaction -and first misread- of Chrono's post.

Awesome, I love when developers expand upon game types, its an EASY way to make the game more broad and exciting.

There are some Free MMO's that dont do this, but rather keep pumping out new items for sale, but never expand upon what they have.

Good job!

LOD generally means Level of Detail and from the description given I think they mean level of detail pass. Basically by adjusting the level of detail as objects get closer or further from the camera, the game engine can draw more the screen while maintaining an acceptable level of performance.

Yeah, an LOD Pass on the mechs should be pretty nice, but I'm not sure it really targets some of the underlying issues, like processor load due to calculations constantly being relayed. A game like this shouldn't have a quad core processor shooting up to 70+ degrees Celsius at the menu screen.

Either way, grateful for the direct and transparent communication. This is a step in the right direction and towards restoring some faith in the development process. Thanks.

Exactly... all this hype on a voice app that barely anyone used... was not a very easy-to-use program to begin with... and most folks tend to find a TS server like Comcast or NGNG to hop onto and play with folks versus running around being a pug... Communication is key, at home, at work, at school... with your significant other... and especially while gaming LOL! So, I give this to the Devs... give us a reliable, built-in comm system (NOT C3!) that is tied into the MWO servers... this won't stop me from having my Mumble server for my unit, but gives us more of a chance to play and communicate much easier with the rest of the MWO Community...

Well I don't know what the deal was with C3 but I doubt very much we'll have an intergrated system that isn't C3, because of possible contracts agreements.

Also as NGNG are allegedly on the payrole, and the 'official' voice of MWO, its pretty poor business practice on PGI's end that they are not required to use C3 and use a system in direct competition, to the one they have an agreement with.

If the agreements over, would be nice to know, so I can remove it, if its not then every official source should go through C3 and nothing else

The only issue I've ever had with C3 is getting other people to use it. It was really easy for me to set up, create my own channels, and share those channels (just send them a link instead of trying to copy/paste server/port info), much easier IMO than Vent or TS3, and I didn't have to pay for my own servers or leech off someone else's. The sound quality is just as good (or bad) as Vent or TS3, and personally I like C3's interface better.

The current integration only works within groups, and only if you group before launching (with everyone in the group using C3 with the option to join the group channel checked), which is definitely not what I think anyone was expecting in even a partially "integrated" system, and unnecessary if you just join your own group channels beforehand like you would in TS3 or Vent anyway.

So I see they changed the graphic from exclusive to just "Flame 'Hotrod' Pattern". Was there an official announcement/apology for the miscommunication somewhere that I haven't yet found?

That was the big failing of C3. If you have a pre-made group, you're already communicating somehow. It needs to be integrated in the client so that you're put in a dynamic channel with the other people in your drop, but integrating something to that level would be very challenging. You'd need to be able to control all the functions through the UI, and as we've seen, the UI is nowhere near ready to handle that kind of change.

Maybe when they roll out UI 3.0 in 2018 we'll see this kind of functionality.

I can't wait.

I can understand that some things are targeted for the next release, in design phase, etc. And Lord knows schedule slips happen. At least this is all fairly up front (almost too much so; be happy folks, they're showing their dirty dev laundry!).

I'll also say it every chance I get; Battletech is about more than Mercs. Faction / Loyalist Units need lovin' too. I'm hoping there will be appropriate perks associated with fighting for King and Country (or Archon and Commonwealth).

PS - Customers and users damn well better be stakeholders or you're doing it wrong. :P
