They've said the next four months will be used to develop clans as they have the Phoenix mechs to release so they have dev time free, I hope they get a move on I want my timberwolf!

Best guess at what a Clan Invasion Pack would be is this, based on tiers like Phoenix (maybe they'll do a Founders-style, but I'm betting Phoenix tier system)-

Tier 1: Koshi (light and fast- allows them a Light Mech intro that isn't extremely powerful like the Uller/Puma)

Tier 2: Ryoken (good Mech with a lot of options, unique look)

Tier 3: Madcat (iconic, has to be in the pack)

Tier 4: Masakari/Daishi (I'm leaning towards Daishi just for being more well-known, but they might not want a 100-ton monster to start with)

I'll only buy in if there's a Shadow Cat. I'm going to have enough mechs to last me a lifetime after the Phoenix mechs arrive.

I'm thinking the pack will look like this

1. Kit Fox
2. Storm Crow
3. Mad Dog or Summoner
4. Executioner

They will then probably add in another two just like the Saber Package. Which would include the Timberwolf/summoner or mad dog. They know how popular the Timberwolf will be, so expect to have to pay the most to get it. Also, the Dire Wolf and Warhawk will make a boat load of money for them, so it will be a stand alone mech. The founders assault will be a less popular assault. Maybe the executioner or man of war. You will just have to be forced to get that assault if you want the Timber Wolf.

You guys are WAY ahead of yourselves here. You're looking at about a year. CW will be here in early Spring in its real form. The pattern is, they put out a package in the fall, and CW will need to function fully before we think about implementing clans. Look for clan announcements in late summer of 2014.

I dearly hope they release the clan mechs in ONLY the inner sphere names (MadCat, Thor, etc.) Just to see the clan fanatics have a fit.

Nothing against you guys, it's not malevolent, I just would be amused.

Oh, and don't release the MadCat in the first group.

Wishful thinking.

They could make it so the Clanners have a different Visual UI, so their hud shows Timberwolf and Inner Sphere shows MadCat with a sort of glitch. Like Mad*/$Cat>?

The way it worked, IIRC, is that the targeting computer just flickered back and forth between MAD and CAT really quickly. That would be cool though, as it would mean you have no information about 'Mech loadout or anything like that.

Also from a spectator standpoint, it would be better if the Clanner interface looked noticeably different from the Inner Sphere, so watchers could see what side they were on without knowing mech types or anything like that. Like how Zerg and Protoss are completely different, but their visual style lets people know what they're about. Someone who isn't a giant stompy mech buff wouldn't know the difference between Innersphere Pilot A and Clanner B

I hope the Nova is in any clan pack, and be nice and don't make the Timber Wolf an add on. Anyway clan pack would sell like hotcakes because if the clan mechs are even just a bit more powerful very few people won't be using them.

From what the Devs have been saying (so take it with a grain of salt) Clan tech won't be as overwhelmingly superior to IS as it has been in other titles/TT etc. Not sure how they'll pull this off without just blatantly gimping weapon values but we'll see.

They have until December to improve things and add content, after that I know of many- many people that are going to consider MWO at best a secondary choice as it relates to their gaming habits...

That isn't sayin that they won't come back possibly to MWO, but as it stands now the lack of anything but the endless same old chestnut for gameplay is wearing even thinner than it was 6 weeks ago..

The reality of the situation is painfully obvious, and the excitement over the release of MWO has worn thin, but maybe if they throw out another Pheonix Pack type of thing (which was designed to TRY and keep us happy), they can keep everyones attention long enough to keep the player base/customers happy..

A product MUST cater to the needs and wants of the consumer, and never the other way around..
Anyone that believes the opposite is naive at best.

The clock has been ticking for a while now..
