Not really. Then a griefer will run through someone's LLas alpha, get cored in the back, and have a laugh.

Surely there's a way to track TKs per account. When it reaches X number over mystery period of time, then a temp ban might be useful.

Damage reflection would probably be a better option.

Damage you do to teammates hits you instead.

I vote no...the game is already dumbed down enough.

So you lose one game's worth of earnings because of some guy running through your alpha intentionally...how often are you gonna be in his drop? I'd rather take that chance than the alternative of allowing him to TK multiple people with merely a minor inconvenience to his Cbill total.

That takes way the element of danger that live fire brings and also allows players to be even more reckless with stepping in front of friendly firing lines.

A TK should be an automatic death sentence. Furthermore, players should get docked c-bills for damage against teammates in the same way they get a bonus for damage against enemies.

I disagree with any system that flat-out kills, bans, or otherwise punishes somebody for a team kill because it prevents self-defense against team killers.

Here's the situation that happened to me a few weeks ago: Match starts up and less than 1 minute into it, some worthless pile of scrap team-mate decides to start attacking me. No reason at all - this was even before the current "Ready button" rage-fest. So, what am I supposed to do? Obviously, I report him after the game and I inform my team that he's a malicious team killer, but what then? Just stand there and let him kill me? Disconnect, thus insuring that we lose the match? No. I told the team, and they joined in and helped me reduce him to a pile of molten scrap. I got the "reward" for killing him, and he deserved it. So, should I be banned for this? Penalized? Of course not! If the system starts to punish those who fight back against griefers, all we'll get is more griefers who, instead of killing, will focus on legging allies, blowing off all their weapons, etc.

The only way to reduce this type of behavior is punishment for repeated, verifiable offenses, and the reality is that PGI does not have the time or resources to do that. Hence, the in-game justice dealt out by team members who are stabbed in the back by obvious griefers. If the game automatically tracked team kills per match and auto-banned people who had some absurd number such as 1 per match over 100 matches, that might work, but that's about it for automated systems.

Putting in the "ready" option for PUG matches never made any sense. What it has done is allow jackasses who think that their time is so precious to use it as a justification of shooting/killing their teammates. I had someone named 00 something (not name shaming cause I don't remember his whole name) put an AC20 into my Atlas' leg. Did it matter in the end considering that I was driving a 100 tonner? No. But, does me just coming back to the game after a month off and, therefor, not knowing what happened warrant that? Hell no. Its just another case of self entitled immature douches trying to police the game based on their opinion. And, it boils down to one addition to the game that wasn't even necessary as lance adjustements aren't needed in PUG games where 90% of the players don't even know how to shoot straight or pilot.

Again need two separate queues one for premades/teams only with all the organizing tools and time you want.

The other for Solo players with no delays and maybe a respawn or drop to further cut down on wasted time.

Since there is no vote kick for azz hats then leg or arm them. Some people don't learn unless you spank em.

Pre-groups should be locked as a unit and identified.

The fact that they aren't is just more craptastic failure to plan on the part of the devs.

Only they do have the staff for this, which is why there is a ticket system, three members of staff deal with account, technical, and, 'social' problems, and moderate under the code thats here in the forums, its been there since open beta, and was 'upgraded' between the 3pv rage, and shortly before launch, so best not to under employ these people, and taking the 'law' into your own hands can leave you open to being moderated

No.

If a player DCs, their mech can be prevented from being locked out, by destroying it, but it also assigns the killer a TK, even though they are actually helping the DC'r out.

Point is, if it happen before enemies are engaged it is obviously intended. No, there aren't any legitimate reasons to team kill someone.

Sure there is. Self defense. Under your proposed system, if some ***** on my team starts shooting me, and I kill them to defend myself, I would get banned, while the attacker would be free to drop into another match and cause more trouble.

Trolls would love that mechanic, yesirree.

I'd agree with that statement, but there really is no reason to be moving players around in a pug drop anyways.

I don't know what planet you're from, but on mine, we've been having access to this feature for like half a year. In almost every single game that I want to win, I take command and sort the lances by speed, or general estimated skill ranking. It's never been a problem until they put the command mark on the front page.

So are you telling me it's impossible to play without the green arrows? Really? The feature is there for a reason. If you don't want to be moved around, don't come into the ghetto. In the ghetto pub, the law of the jungle applies. You want to stomp and inflate your stats. I am there to make money. If you follow my instructions, you get to inflate your numbers, and I make the c-bills. It's a win-win, until someone freaks out and starts 'teamkilling' me.

I had a pretty interesting encounter with tunnel vision elite davions. They were so intent on killing me for shuffling their worthless jenner into the light lance, their three assaults followed me straight into the enemy lines, killed all of them, and kept poking my back with AC2s.

Dont make me laugh.

You dont need to defend yourself if a griefer decide to kill you. You will have one game wasted, and he will get banned for say; 1 day?

Anyway you clowns are such nitpickers, the solution in itself doesnt matter, be it reverse damage or weapon lock, the point is when a game start and both teams havent colided, any friendly fire is plain and simple griefing. There must be some kind of punishement.

I like the idea about -100 000isk, and in my opinion if you dont make at least 100 000 isk it should be taken from your wallet, even if you have zero isk, you go into the minus, thats a pretty damn good idea whoever suggested it. Though if a player is rich, it wont affect him much.

Also, to who ever is crying about me shuffling people around; I have 1 minute to balance lance out. Thats a pretty short time and unlike you selfish ******** I try to coordinate the pug. Lances made of assault, heavies and lights respectively are a lot easier to direct around with markers and the chat box unlike when they are all over the place.

I want light lance charlie to go flank? Flanking icon for charlie... now that charlie dont have that slow poke atlas with them.

People crying about that are the kind of people that never communicate or try to teach new players how to play, instead they say ''alt+F4'' like the old farts they are.

Anyway, Now I ask if there are any premades, and give them 10sec before moving people around... still I always get a clown that whine afterward.

maybe get penalized after a certain amount of dmg, or just repeated team damage in your matches.... account suspensions if it is happening too much.

I mean something needs to be done. In bf3, i never even saw a conquest server with friendly fire on, unlike the days of bf2. where they had all sorts of mods for autokicks for various reasons and lots of FF servers. I thought friendly fire was impossible to play seriously in this day and age of pc computer games.

I agree though, and its extremely surprising to me, its not as huge a problem as you'd think it would be in mwo, def a more mature community then most pc multiplayers.....but it still can be a problem. The game is also still new and full of mostly beta players it seems, better do something now before it does get real bad.

I do think its pretty crazy to let someone just reorganize the team, that is def asking for trolling, what is the reasoning for that? especially in a pug? it seems thats the only time somebody uses company command. Noone is ever giving strategic orders...they just grab it to organize team and then release command.....premades should be locked I agree.

do you actually try to give orders and lead the group? Or do you just shuffle teams and then immediately relinquish command?

I just had a flashback. Do just like they did in counterstrike years ago. you know that game that is the most popular team deathmatch game in pc history? and still to this day the most popular fps in contention with tf2. another valve autobalance game.

When someone team killed you in counterstrike, most admins had a server mod where you had the option to punish them in a number of ways. take some damage from them. slap them, set them on fire, kill them at the start of next round lol etc..... or just give them a pass, like say if they say "sorry man i shot you by accident"

Yes, it was great fun being the best player on the team and getting slap locked for 3 minutes due to popular vote. I do so miss those days.

Oh, wait - I don't. It's a lot like getting teamkilled in this game because you dared use a feature.

which makes no sense, and your totally bogus, because if your the best player why are you teamkilling teamates? OH i know why, the same reason you didn't have as many aimbots on friendly fire servers.

>aimbots.
>counter-strike.

95% of the servers were on punkbuster.

If FF bothered people so much, they could have just turned it off.
