This is sad. Just another reason for light pilots to ignore caps/spotting/scouting in favor of dying in a brawl.

Average damage 197,44 over 1133 matches played with an average of 33,70 Kills per 25,78 Deaths overall. Most of them in Medium mechs. Currently working on the Jenners. Apart from the Jenner D im above my own average for each category in them already with 218 matches in light Mechs played until now.

These statistics dont prove anything either way, and I can by far say that Light mechs are deffinitely not only capable of Capping/spotting/scouting... that is only a part of what they can do if you know how to play them. The thing about Scouts is that they play in the extremes. Either you will come around a corner to be anhialated within 2 seconds, or you can theoretically win a match for your own team (managed that rarely with myself against 3 critical and one fresh mech before).

In 450 matches I average 141 damage. Eliminating trial mechs that goes to 321 matches and 176 average damage. I can also say that it has been a steep learning curve after thinking MW2 skills and mech builds would serve me well in MWO. Not so much. I've pugged and pugged and pugged and finally have my kill ratio at 1 with my active mechs.

I've noticed (and this is where the stats come in handy) that my weapons accuracy has become much better over time. I'm also shooting more.

The kills vs. damage is a tricky one. My best round was 4 kills, 6 assists, 671 damage. We lost. Frankly, I'd rather win with less impressive stats.

303 dmg/match average since stats started counting, spread over way too many games in way too many mechs in all weight classes ( most played are my awesomes :-D ). Think that's kind of average for us veterans.

Interesting, 1,142,448 Damage done over 3,477 matches. Average damage is above 320 with my victors with over 400 average damage a round.

I have 291 drops in a Cicada CDA-2A and 341 Drops in Cicada the X-5. A total of 632 drops in Cicadas which are hard Mech to do great in due to them being essentially light Mechs with medium Mechs hitboxes. So 632 drops with a total of 164,878 damage done, 452 kills to 404 deaths. Which gives me an average of 261 damage per match with a K/D ratio of 1.12.

This is another bunch of numbers that really don't mean much. My base numbers are 9320 matches, 1,057,220 damage done, which gives me an average of 113 damage per match. However, I am typically in a Spider, which means my damage is really all over the board depending on the mode. I have sometimes done no damage at all in conquest mode with a win, all the way to 1121 damage in assault. In this mech my average damage is 167, and my average number of kills is .60. Bearing that in mind, when I drop with a 12-man, invariably someone will say, "we want Mailin in a Spider because he really knows what he's doing." It's not about the numbers unless you only drive brawlers. Even then you may need to learn to aim. I still see so many people aiming for the center torso on so many mechs without locking targets to see what the loadout is or where the enemy is cored. (Something I always do in my Spider, and if I may blow my own horn, I'm really good at hitting the spots that are most damaged.)

Looking at my Blackjack BJ-1 I have 450 matches played (256 wins, 194 losses for a 1.32 ratio) and I have 360 kills with 302 deaths (1.19 ratio) and have done 123,017 damage for an average of 273.37 damage per match.

With my Jagermech JM6-S I've played 135 matches (74 wins, 60 losses for a 1.23 ratio) and I have 120 kills with 97 deaths (1.24 ratio) and have done 41,967 damage for an average of 310.87 damage per match.

Edit: I feel I should address this quote from the OP:

I put this up to give new players a chance to see what 'average' is or at least what it might be.

I don't think new players should expect to put up numbers similar to those with hundreds of matches; we have the advantage of knowing the maps, knowing the enemy mechs, tweaked our mechs to the point where they fit like a glove, and have maxed out our pilot tree that allows our mechs to be more maneuverable and go faster than when we dropped into our first match in the same mech. Use the numbers as a goal to strive towards - if a rookie teammate in a BJ-1 puts up 150 damage in a match I'd be more than satisfied that they tried their best and contributed to the team.

New players, just have fun and learn, then worry about damage output after you've gotten used to your mech.

Depends. Across all mechs it's 197.58 but on my best mech it's > 400 and on my worst it's < 50 per match.

I tend to grind a mech until I get mastery, then never touch it again. So basically, just as I'm getting good at a mech, I move on. :-)

I also pilot a lot of light mechs... which tend to be low on the damage potential list

I was curious enough to do the math. 108,656 damage over 608 matches, about 178 per match.

Honestly, I'm surprised I've played that many matches. And considering that over a third of them are in Ravens, I don't feel so bad with that damage output. I know I'm not a top tier player anyway.

As a side point, I'd be curious to know what weapons people are using. I'd think some weapons would lend themselves to doing more overall damage. LRMs, for instance, since they aren't as precise as others. It'll take more damage by LRM to kill a mech than it will using something like autocannons or lasers, since you can theoretically focus your fire with ACs and lasers.

Not including any trial mechs or mechs played less than 10 matches, i average ~200.
I generally play with about 8fps so I am relatively happy with that

I don't have time to do the math for all my mechs, I'll just post that of those I've used most since stat introduction (so it's not 100% good data):

Looks like avg dmg it's 424, in nearly 2000 matches.

Someone once told me that ideally you want to do 100 damage per weight class, which means that an assault should be doing at least 400 damage. No matter what, it's not a bad thing to have an idea of where you stand and use it as a basis for whether you are getting better. On that topic, instead of damage per match, I'd rather do damage per kill. This tells me how efficient I am, on average, at killing my enemy. On that score, my average is 181. If I can see this number going down over time, I know that I have become a more efficient killing machine.

528, 391 damage over 1687 matches = 313 average damage

makes sense due to the fact I play the full spectrum of mech classes, assaults tend to average near or above 400 damage, where mediums are a bit under 300 for the most part.

I'm going for the bubble chart idea! Puts it into a bit more context....

scale -
DDC = 374
Orion = 222
Firebrand = 318

Overall I'm at about 290 abg DMG, W/L = 1.16 K/D = 1.3

Yeah yeah.... It's my day job. Can you tell??? ;)

Too much math for me to use with so many mechs. But with all the joke builds I do, all the flamers I use, all the MGs I tote about, and all the shotguns I double barrel and all the PPC and Gauss cheese I typically avoid and all the AC/20 twins I barely use... and only counting after the last stat reset which appears to start in March 2013 (as the last time I actively ran a Centurion AL was in February. It says I ran it exactly once. I had that mech for over 8 months and ran it religiously until February, and in March I sold it.)

Kills / Death: 4,272 / 4,252 (...how is this a 1.0 kdr?)
Total matches: 6840. Approximately 400-ish more wins than losses.

I really wish we had better reporting options for our stats; it currently takes a significant amount of time to assemble data in a useful format.
