It was my first mech and will always be among my favorites.
I admit I learned the hard way what "Torso Twist" and "Shield Arm" means <_<.

I just wanted to mention that there are much better ways to brag than creating a new Thread featuring a loadout that could best be titled as "common" (it was among the first ones I copied from the Inet after getting my Phoenix Pack). But its impressive that you tried out every build in just 8 hours and still are able to look at a screen ...*cough*
But its cool to see that obviously there is no "BEST SHADOWHAWK BUILD" (Capslock disease btw?) but it depends on the individual playstyle ;)

Given the current overdose of light mechs I experience (plus the usual incompetence of my team in fighting them^^) I think I will try out something with a Shotgun, MPL and Streaks... I really have to put some Spider heads on the walls of my mechlab, or I will have to open a thread "NERF FRIGGIN LIGHTS"

This build is what has finally made the shadowhawk click for me. It's deadly to lights (but you're not quick enough to chase them) at close and far range. It rocks mediums, heavies, and assaults when they're close and hits for 20 pinpoint while they're reeling. At far range, it jump snipes (albeit with lowish hardpoints). It moves fast--fast enough to not get flanked, and to find cover if you're taken by surprise out in the open. And best of all, it's not nearly as imposing as your teammates in heavies and assaults, allowing you to do all this without a target on your back.

So far I find thet XL275, 2 MLas, Ultra AC/5, and 2 SSRM2's with 5 JJ's (also includes BAP and AMS) tends to be a beast. It's so manuverable. And if you are patient, you come in late to a fight and just rip face.

I'm still trying to decide whether the 3 extra JJ's and AMS is worth it. Because I also do the 2D2 with 4 SSRM2's. And while it's not quite as manuverable...it's is a light mechs worst nightmare adn you can tell the shake tends to frustrate bigger mechs.

I present you one of my best brawlers, "The Shotgun" as described here: http://raksarmory.bl...d2-shotgun.html

Smurfy link: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...925a4f033b11166

As I wrote, this is a very dangerous brawler. Especially fun when you have a meaty, slow target in sight, it's like watching an ironsmith hammer an anvil.

SHD-2H so far is my best build i tried 3x AC2 but IMO this is better, just a little less DPS but have higher ALPHA dmg and its better to make that finish blow. Heat its not problem at any map u can spam those cannons pretty much all day long not like with 3xAC2. every match is like 400+ dmg. Ammo is just fine for me as long as u hit ur targets and dont spam to much :) dont remmember a match when i used it all.

And this is my best match so far with this mech, and i have only basic skills on him.

Really the best Shadowhawk is as meta-***** as anything else, 2AC5s a PPC and enough XL engine and jumpjets to getcha around. Got 7 kills 900 damage in one match doing it. Pretty good times but boring in the grand scheme of things because poptarting is not much fun.

Thats cool Scarface, someone asked what the best build was, best, not the most fun. Also its not PPC meta, its PPC/cannon and PPCs are actually the weaker half of that meta, don't kid yourself by using a Gunboat and jumpjets that you're not playing into the game. I did that one game for tickles. Anyway I have a hard time not using PPCs on a shadowhawk because its got NO energy slots, I like lasers on mediums usually. Avoiding PPCs entirely make energy users REALLY hard to use. I had a flavor build I liked for a loooong time that I did pretty consistently well on. 1 AC10, some srms, and a large laser. (http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1ac6e681cc4f733)
Because the original Table Top Shadow Hawk was ripped off Dougram Fang of the Sun anime (along with everything in the saber package except the locust) I built it like Dougram and used my mobility and my varied attack set to get the ball rolling with the AC10, brawling for short times and using JJS to jump out of it when I didn't have positional advantage. S'pretty great.

So slow...sheesh.

Does it work at all?

Seems like if you get noticed you are done for.

All I can say is with that speed you will not even be able to out run an Atlas.

why should i outrun him > if i wanna kill him :) i will not stand in front line with this mech just behind my atlas and make fire support. But i dont have that engine so i cant test it this have any chance to work well. But imo when u play with friends this might be actually work.

While I'm sure it wouldn't be considered the "best" but I've found the 2d2 to be my favorite of the three. Can't link the smurfy at work but;

XL325, ERPPC, Flamer, 4 X streaks, BAP, Near full armor. Think I'm running 12 or 13 DHS

Usually only use the ppc at range, or when I've cooled down a bit. Great for keeping lights off of the my bigger lance mates and I've found it actually does amazing at leading the charge (assuming your lancemates/ pugs follow you in.) Jump jet around the group and flame people in the face, smacking them with strks and the occasional PPC while your buddies blast into them - Too much fun, just requires some decent heat management.

My two favored builds (Still working on one for the 2D2 atm ><) are:

SHD-2H "Lancer"
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6483525e6ff3823

Armed with a Gauss (30 Slugs), Medium Laser, two SRM/4's and an SRM/2 (200 Missiles).

I find its most comfortable to use it as a multirole mech. The Gauss lets you reach out and poke distant targets, while the remaining weapons make for a good close range array.

SHD-5M "Hot-Shot"
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...67603bbe4102293

Armed with paired Medium Lasers, paired AC/2's (600 rounds of ammo), and an SRM/6 and SRM/4 (200 Missiles)
.
This variant is more geared towards softening up an opponent as it closes in with the AC/2's and then knocking them out with the SRM+Medium Laser combo.

I'm usually able to go toe-to-toe with most mechs, heavier assets will of course give you problems should you take them on alone, but give them a shot, I have a lot of fun with them. ;)

I’ve been fooling around with Shadowhawk builds a bit lately because I really wanted to come up with a 2H build that I liked. Prior to this build, which I call Splatter, I favored the 2D2 and had several builds I used regularly. With the Splatter 2H I think I have finally found my 2H build. I really enjoy playing it and have great success. I have even taken out a few Atlases with it solo and usually end with 2 or more kills and 450+ damage per match.

I like the XL engine in this mech, if I die it is usually due to center torso destruction so it has not been an issue. I group the machine guns and LBX-10 on the same weapon group and use the LBX-10 at close range only. I get in close and just keep it pressed so I can go through some ammo there. I also fire SRM’s and ML as soon as they are ready. Even on hot maps I can fire a while before heat becomes an issue. Grant it my damage is spread, but at close range most things go down in 3-4 volleys, which is very quick because I never have to stop firing. The 97.2kph and 2 JJ’s give me adequate speed and mobility. Also I generally don’t put ammo in the torsos because it seems like a death sentence, but in this build that has not been an issue because I go through it so fast.

Which is the one problem I run into. Ammo just runs out too fast. Because of that I am experimenting with reducing the engine to and XL 280 and/or dropping the AMS. I haven’t played these builds that much, but it is nice having an extra ton of SRM and LBX ammo.

Alternate Build One: Takes off a half a ton of armor and drops the AMS
Alternate Build Two: Takes off a half a ton of armor and reduces the engine to an XL280
Alternate Build Three: Reduces engine to XL280 and drops the AMS, but adds a ton of armor

Lately it seems like when I take of the AMS I am just getting pounded with LRMs, and when I reduce the engine 90.7kph it seems so much slower. The good news is I still go through ammo fast enough that having some in my torsos isn’t instant death. It is easier with the XL 300 engine because with that speed it is easy to stay behind and to the side making for fast kills.

Give it a go and let me know what you think and what can be improved.

I would recommend against stripping leg armor. Strip your left arm first, keep your right maxed, and fill up as much of your legs as you can. Dropping the AMS is going to make you change your playstyle to stay closer to cover or teammates with AMS.

If you're open to reworking the build, try ditching the LB10X and ML. Put in an LPL, a 3rd MG, and an extra ton of ammo instead. You'll have a slight hit in DPS and alpha but your damage will be less spread. You then have free weight to max armor, upgrade to 1 or 2 SRM6, and/or bump the engine to XL325.
