I would say in MP games today, aside from idiotic things like achievements and the like, persistant stat tracking is simply not a good thing to have. We're already seeing a lot of it go away in the moba genre (LoL, Dota 2, etc). These devs seems on the ball, so hopefully we wont see it outside of ladders and that kind of thing, where it belongs. I really started to hate BF3 where all I worried about was keeping up my 4.0 KDR. It pigeonholed me into this one type of playstyle that would allow for that kind of inflated KDR - it was very discouraging to try other modes of play that weren't as good in terms of farming up a high KDR. It's best if it just isn't there, period, or if you can turn it on and off at will before/after matches. I could go on, but what do others think?

I would like to see achievement rewards,

My first completed DFA *death from above* that actually worked in one hit was by accident... "*** happen? how did we win....." which was winning kill for my team =)

The issue wasn't the stat being available, it was the players inability to ignore the number in pursuit of a new gaming experience.

I hope for all kinds of stats being available. You can't measure your personal improvement without a score board. Or compare play styles, roles, or mech classes.

I was pissed when Halo 3 stopped tracking "shots fired" and "accuracy" like in Halo 2. I'm interested in statistics.

I hope they are there, so I can get the lowest score, and be proud!

To be honest, How could they not track stats, when they alraedy said they will be tracking of combat to see who controls the lands.

If you let stats like KDR force you into a specific playstyle that's your own fault. The stat is just a number, it's not like it puts a gun to your head and demand that you play a certain way. Just ignore it and play how you want.

Statistics and number tracking on an account can be interesting and amusing. If you are obsessed over your KDR, that's really more of a personal problem.

It's easy to say that, but what if you're trying to get on a good team and they see your poor stats? I've played many games with stat tracking and good people always pay attention to stats. They are used as an indicator of your skill so you can't just mess around for fun, that's why it should be private, if in the game at all.

I tank my stats on bf3 every now and again so i can get away from players who obsess on gettin more kills than deaths. I dont have even a 1:1kdr on bf3 and know what? Could not care less. All that matters to me is enjoying the game. Which in bf3 is degrading. But i want a stat tracker just for my eyes only so i can track what works for me XD

The other side of the coin is that stats can go a long way towards helping a team analyze their strengths and weaknesses so they can figure out ways to overcome obstacles. It also helps them understand who they're up against. It'd be screwing over a large portion of hardcore players who are playing to win by denying them useful tools just to appease a few players who wants to the freedom to goof around.

Wouldn't it be more logical to be asking for training modes where stats aren't recorded so you can goof around however you want without consequences with other players? There's are other ways to get what you want without trying to deny others some pretty important self analysis tools. Especially when it's a personal issue to begin with.

Sounds like you should play with friends, instead of people who will just judge you based on your stats.
And if stats were hidden, they would use another metric like matches they played with you, to measure your skill. One method saves them time and energy, the other makes any new recruit a potential disaster.
