Knowing the enemy is an advantage, and creating that advantage should be rewarded. C-Bill and XP bonus to the first mech to lock an enemy mech and hold lock for a continuous 15 seconds. A savvy scout could conceivably collect a hefty bonus by scouting the entire enemy team.

While I agree with you that there needs to be a reward for capping in conquest, that is not related to this suggestion. Perhaps you can start a feature suggestion thread of your own for that?

We need something to offset the total lack of kills in our Locusts.... :)

The mentioned that they are revising the rewards to incentivize roles more, so players don't just focus on kills.

But yeah, something has to be done to reward scouting more.

Having to hold lock on a single target actually nerfs scouting. The only solution I can think involves making new game modes with multiple non-combat objectives.

Anything that encourages more than just "run out, cap, and shoot" game play

Absolutely!

In conquest, scouts should get no rewards. There is no requirement for information warfare in a game as simple as Conquest.

Holding it for 15 seconds allows the rest of the team time to take note and also see what the target is. This isn't a nerf to scouting - It's a motivation to scout properly instead of just popping round a corner to briefly cycle 'R', which only tells the rest of the team where a blob is. This too is useful information, but not as useful. Still, first lock, no matter how brief, could also carry a small reward.

Except it does tell more than where the blob is. It tells you how cohesive and how heavy it is. You seem to be underselling just how helpful this tactic is.

I'd think we have this in part - at least if the scout pops up a UAV (thus also getting a UAV Detection bonus.)

Part of the problem with scouting is having to rely on the rest of the team's composition. When I'm on a scout and *scouting* (versus a light harasser) I'm trying to find where the enemy is, where they're going (and report back,) and typically TAG or NARC... the last two much less useful if you're on an LRM-light (or no-LRM) team. And, of course, trying to stay alive.

As far as the "First mech only," well.. eh. Have a cooldown to encourage continual scouting and updating.

I'd say add some "Titles" to the rewards as well.

Better than just remaking a topic at least this way ppl coming across it for the first time can see the old discussion.
