Edit: Why I bought it. It's 12 mechs with mech bays. It was 4 months (1 was a bonus for early buyers) of premium time. The faction medallions is a little bonus and to be honest, if those weren't in it I would have still purchased. Also, I like Medium and Heavies more than Assaults (Highlander will always have a place in my heart) so I am gonna get me some. And, it saves me time without having to spend C-Bills further down the road to buy AND upgrade. just upgrade. I did buy a 4th Highlander last night and am down to 76 million C-Bills. Have to master it before Tuesday.

I didn't want to give them money considering the shambles this game is in. BUT I can't say no to a solid package deal that involves a shadowhawk. $40 later I'm hoping they didn't screw up mech scales again.
Edit: @OP for using 'that' word, I'm putting 40 Space Disney Fun Bucks on your head for the next person to kill you in game.

Also, the Wolverine, Battlemaster, and Shadowhawk are some of my most favorite chassis from the boardgame, so that is an added bonus.

2. No more money from me until more content to game play.

Only got the locust though. Shadow hawk would have been nice but I recently left my job so do not want to go too crazy lol

So to answer your question a very sizeable percentage.

It's a bunch of mechs, with bays, and the bonus added to the 'Phoenix' mechs is nice. I like having mechs that I can make viable for the added c-bills and loyalty. Since I can't play daily, (2-3 times a week with my lance) the grind for that many mechs would be pretty interminable. Levelling them up, I should make some bank, too, and have a nice little stash for OTHER mechs after. $80 isn't THAT much, in the grand scheme of things.

Effectively, you are spending money on a few heroes and some cbill variants, which in itself if kinda useless to me at first glance. However, the bonuses that come with the packages make it more interesting> early access to mechs, 3 colors, unique patterns, flame pattern, medallions, premium and the loyalty bonus on the heroes makes it look half decent.
The main stoppers for me are $20 wasted on locusts and that I needed MC and the packages don't come with any. So I was going to have to put money into the game on top of the phoenix package, which put me off it. Plus I am in no dire need for cbills And I am only really interested in the shawk out of those first 4. But I really don't think I need a hero mech version of a medium like that.

* Unseen 'mechs. UNSEEN!
* GREAT value for money.
* $110 isn't outside my gaming budget.
* I've actually pined for a 20-ton light (especially since the Flea was put on indefinite hold).
* I've always loved the Thud.
* The other four are also classic TRO:3025 'mechs, which for me is the golden era of BT.
* And finally, because I enjoy MWO enough to play it just about every night, despite its warts and shortcomings.

Why? Pgi really has to re-instate some faith in me but it keeps failing and:
-Locust? I won't never pilot that pick
-Shadow Hawk? hmm, maybe I'll give it a try but I don't want to pay for a mech I'm unsure how it will play at a competitive level, and the chosen phoenix variant is inferior to the non-hero 2D2 like the 4G is vs the 4H for the founder HBK
-Thunderbold: looks huge, non-xl friendly, I don't see it being anything useful at competitive due to bulkiness/hiboxes => wasted money
-Battlemaster? Basically the only mech worth the package, but given what I said above it costs 80$ and nope, no thanks
-Wolverine? HAH! this thing is HUGE, nope
-Griffin? It looks even taller than the Shadow Hawk, but it could be an heavier Cent A with JJs. Still it costs 30$ (50$ minimum) to get it.
So what, 1 certainly good mech, 2 maybe, the rest not. Nope no money from me.
PGI should have allowed to pick the favourite mechs, introducing mid-priced tiers where you could select 1 mech for 30$ within locust/sh/TB, 2 mechs for 50$ within the four available and 70$ to pick up three of them (saber pack is out from this idea).
I've pushed for this since the first announcement, they didn't wanted to listen, because they'd have probably spilled from me 50$ for the SH and the BM, like I did with the AS7-D(F) back in the Elite Founder. But nope, so.. nope
