So, when I bailed out two months ago, I could hit Launch and expect a match in about 30-60 seconds on average. Since I came back, I've been waiting 2-3 minutes almost without fail.

Did I miss something? Is it like this for everyone else? I'm not playing at peak hours, but I wasn't when I left, either. Between that, the ready screen, and 12v12, I'm making half as many C-Bills as I used to.

The forum crowd is pretty whiny, so I would have expected more discussion about this if it was happening to a lot of people. How long, on average, are you waiting before you get into a match? Has it gotten worse in the last couple months?

It varies for me sometimes it takes as little as 10 seconds other times as long as 4 minutes. I think it is a result of them tweaking matchmaking to try and balance the game better. I don't commonly see steamrolls now except when one side has premade lances.

Been playing since January and its never been worse. Had some releif since the xp weekend and phoenix but its creeping back up again. The forum gatekeepers will always say otherwise and if you have doubts just check any of their posting history and its crystal what their game is.

Same issue as always. We cannot retain new players. The leanring curve is far too steep when most noobs lucky to out live a few minutes at best at the hands of pug stompers and premades. None of the dozen or so I have got to join have stayed so maybe we should ask them instead of the resident gatekeepers who have been proven false time and again.

I've been playing a bit longer, but yes, I have seen the same thing. I play at various times throughout the day and it seems to be the same story. As I'm playing, I also tend to start recognizing the same names, which makes me wonder just how many people are online at any given time. It used to be PGI showed that number at the bottom of the screen, but that's been taken out for quite some time -- it would be interesting to see just how many we have, whether it be hundreds or thousands online.

Storm... Wouldn't that be your Elo bracket filling up as the day progresses? As I understand it, those who are closest to my Elo score will be placed in a match with me first. So I would probably see the same names pop up more often since they are equal to me... :)

Wait times are getting longer, especially during off-times. People used to post about it, thinking that is was due to some hyper-inflated Elo score, but I think that line of thought has dropped off to only the most deluded.

Hopefully will see some lift after CW rolls out.

I've noticed longer wait times even though our TS3 server is the busiest it's been in a long time, also there are SO many phoenix mechs in my drops, makes me wonder about the "new" players if they all bought the big packages or what...

I almost always have to wait 2-3 minutes now, despite the huge number of blargs and blunderbolts out there.

If you are seeing high numbers of PP mechs in every match rather than trials it means there are very few new players.
Longer wait times are probably partly due to a tightening of MM criteria and lower numbers playing. There could also be wide discrepancies in Elo adding to this.

Elo was tightened in the matchmaker recently. Anyone even a tiny bit up there is going to consistently have long wait times.

Ever since they "Improved" the weight side of matchmaking, this has been a problem. The longer it takes, the less strict the weight matching.

Wait, what? The less they try to match people up, the longer it takes to get a match together?

I think I just lost a brain cell or two trying to figure that one out....

It starts searching with very strict limitations on weight matching. If it doesn't find a match that fit the criteria in a given timeframe, it loosens the restrictions until it finds a match. Basically every matchmaker works this way, its not hard.

My opinion is that following " Launch day " the player base has been shrinking. I'm not angry at PGI but believe they had good intentions and a love of Battletech. As a community, we have had many promises and talk of things to come. Unfortunately producing a game of this magnitude may be over their heads.

I'll keep checking the forums from time to time and every few days I'll get a drop or two in. And i will keep hopeful that CW and or UI 2.0 will show up in the next few months.

Almost all of my matches tonight have been taking a exceptional longer than usual, sometimes up to 2-3 minutes.

Also, MM is a massive pile of ****. Really wish they'd allow players to drop in a solo-only queue so MM can actually work properly.
