Distorting things to make the situation seem different than how it is, clever.

What i fail to understand is why new companies don't simply look at what the competition does and see what works.

Look at steam for example. It could be argued that it's probably one of the best distrubution systems in existence. Why, because they give you value.

A game will sit and languish with low sales until steam puts it on sale and suddenly everyone and their mother buys it and plays it.

I know many, many people (myself included) that will buy a game that we only have passing interest in if it goes on sale. We're not willing to buy it at full price, but for 50% off... hell why not.

There are many times that i'd love to buy some MC to play with but it's just not worth it. You can easily drop $50 on MC and walk away with one item, two if your lucky, that's just insane, you can buy a brand new game for that.

If they were to put MC on sale for 50% off i'd buy it instantly, but yet i refuse to spend a dime more at the current price structure, and lots of people feel the same way.

Do the math PGI, 100 people buying MC at full price or 500 buying it at half off...
They would make more money by lowering the prices. It's not like there's a production cost that you have to cover, the more you move the better you are.

^Granted Steam basically pays you to play now with games like cs go, and the whole trading card stuff but yeahhh i agree with you. Overall, I say a small increase in cbills would benefit everyone(dont mean like what we had before, but maybe a 10-30k increase per match). Mc prices however I find are kinda high but, a business has gotta make money somewhere so its understandable.

CSGO is a great example!
I've been playing CS for about 12 years now, love it.

1 skin in csgo is about 2 dollars

1 skin in mwo is about 1000 MC = ~5.50 dollars

100,000 per win at 8 minutes a game

Closer to 150k in my games. Mostly from 120k to 170k. Now playing X-5 and BJ-1,3.
If you buy 1-2 Hero Mechs - it'll ease your pain. Also most of them - fun to play. ;)

That's how I bought paints. That's how I bought Cicada X-5.

Surely you understand that's barely an increase in cbills

I know some people that have easily paid over 500$ that's absolutely RIDICULOUS! You should be embarrassed you paid that much money!

Ok, so for a little clarity on the money issue...lets take world of warcraft for example. There are currently the original game + 4 expansions. When each came out they were roughly $40 to purchase. So $40x5= $200, just to keep the game up to date over the 7ish years one would have had to play it. No we get into subscription fees. On average, the subscription fee per month is $13. So if you started 7ish years ago that is 7 x 12 x 13= $1,092 roughly. Add the $200 and you get a grand total of $1,292. Even if you only played the game for the last two years, (as long as MechWarrior Online has been around) that is still $512 for the expansions and the subscription fees. So no, I don't think $500 is too much to drop on a game. If you enjoy it. There are worse things you could spend $500 on.

I rather be charged a monthly subscription fee, then have to pay for every aspect of the game. Covering the price of that game for 7 years is only 1000$? Wow cheap, considering you're going to have to buy every mech and weapon that comes out in this game over the 1:1 battletech timeline.

LOL, you'd rather pay for content that you don't want/need than cherry pick how you're going to spend your money in a F2P game? Yet you're complaining about a non-existent grind and micro transactions being too high?

Would it surprise you to know that other than the phoenix package and a Heavy Metal, all of my other mechs have been purchased for CBills? I have a grand total of 24 Mechs (12 phoenix), So 11 I have purchased through playing the game. In fact, until the phoenix package came out, I didn't spend a dime nor did I plan too. I don't NEED every mech in the game, and I sure don't want them. I like certain mechs, and quite honestly, I have what I want. So I don't intend to spend any more money on the game unless something awesome comes out. I will however, continue to play the game, because I am getting my money's worth. If you aren't, the I invite you to pound sand. BTW...I played WoW for 7ish years...and for the last two, I didn't play at all. I ended up wasting $300 on a game I didn't have the time or desire to play out of a stupid need to "keep my account active to not lose my stuff" I don't do that anymore. Oh, and double it all because my wife had an account too. This game is cheap.

That's great but the time you have spent to purchase all of those mechs shouldn't have been as long as it was. Do you have a life?

Yes charge me a monthly fee for all of the content instead of trying to squeeze every last dime out of my pocket.

I always got same amount: 120k-170k with 200k-210k in top scores. Maybe my style of play maybe something else. But even in R&R times I had no problems with C-Bills earning...

F2P Micro-transaction: Selling you the content you want.
Subscription: Forcing you to buy all the content, whether you want it or not.

Which one is squeezing you again?

Monthly sub, isn't because you already have all the content and do not have to purchase anymore. 10 dollars a month for 12 months would be 120$ which is cheaper than what I see people dropping into this game.

That's beyond the point. The topic is that you don't earn enough cbills per game, and the MC is overpriced (because the items cost a lot of MC)

With cadet bonus u can earn 4 light/medium Mechs. None forcing u to spend real money. U prefer heavy/assault? Play more. Have no time? Pay $$.

There is no way to convert MC into cbills. You still have to purchase everything for the mech that you bought with cbills.

Which is THEIR choice to spend that. You should be thanking them rather than mocking them. because...

I agree, I would prefer a subscription model some times, that way I'd know that when someone posts a topic like this, that they are equally invested (financially) in the game that I am, and not just some freeloader trying to get something for nothing.

10 drops = 1,000,000 Cbills. Say you average 10 drops a night, 5 nights a week, in 2 1/2 weeks you can buy the single most expensive item in the game with Cbills. And that's too long?

Good idea. In next Ask-the-Devs you can question them about it.

I'm not some freeloader trying to get something for nothing. Stop with the ignorant remarks. Read the first post, I'm saying reduce the price of MC, or increase the amount of cbills per match.

Speaking hourly, yes that's too long.

Going to? Have to? A person can run Trial Mechs and never buy a single mech in this game.
