Good bunch of guys here folks that are worthy of a bump. They have their own personal clay pigeon in Blime. Fine pilots and good times.

Now I have clay Pigeon status? I can't win ... :)

The way I remember it, the albatross was a ship's good luck until some ***** went and killed it. Yes, I've read a poem; try not to seem so shocked.

Extremely butchered Serenity quote FTW!

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a Man, my son!

For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed;
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!

I'm 'ere in a ticky ulster an' a broken billycock 'at,
A-layin' on the sergeant I don't know a gun from a bat;
My shirt's doin' duty for jacket, my sock's stickin' out o' my boots,
An' I'm learnin' the damned old goose-step along o' the new recruits!

*tries to scare blimie some more*

In anger smites | the warder of earth,--
Forth from their homes | must all men flee;-
Nine paces fares | the son of Fjorgyn,
And, slain by the serpent, | fearless he sinks.

The sun turns black, | earth sinks in the sea,
The hot stars down | from heaven are whirled;
Fierce grows the steam | and the life-feeding flame,
Till fire leaps high | about heaven itself.

Now Garm howls loud | before Gnipahellir,
The fetters will burst, | and the wolf run free;
Much do I know, | and more can see
Of the fate of the gods, | the mighty in fight.

I remember covering segments of Völuspá at school. This part is the death of Thor during Ragnarök, just after he slays the world serpent, yes?

Apparently you mistaken by what frightened me LoPan, it wasn't the poem, it was the fact you've read one ....

Weirdly, I didn't even know it was referred to as the "codex regius". We used to talk about the "Poetic Edda". Hearing of a Viking text that's been given a Latin name feels... odd.

*headscratch*
Yeah but it was the language of the time that was used to bridge cultures, like English today kinda. It is simply more fun to stroll around in the complete world not just parts of it. Vikings kinda started that movement B)

Indeed, thank you for getting us back on track, Goof. And remember, the 201st is an equal opportunity employer. Even Space Vikings are welcome! Just leave your surströmming behind. That stuff is vile...

Right. Wouldn't want to be excluding people. That'd just be rude.
