It's funny, because on the screen shot of the movie on the embedded YouTube player, it looks like an over the shoulder view of a Star Wars rebel pilot helmet.

On a side note, which 'mech cockpit does that one look most like?

You could be right that sound familiar to bad that there is now version to be found... i love does old SciFi movies even the b types. It is nice to see that even with the "old" techniques good special effects could be done not everything had to be done as an computer animation. But damn pacific rim kicked serious butt.

I suppose it bears mentioning that the 201st also has a healthy (and growing) World of Tanks division. So, if you're looking for somewhere to play WoT or both MWO & WoT, swing by and check out the 201st Stryker Regiment.

I have returned from my long and gruelling travels to foreign climes (a.k.a. two days in Germany). Did I miss anything?

A handful of new recruits floating around TS and a batch of promotions for the first set of recruits.

We kill all the things. Alpha and Bravo lances from the blue team were 201st for this coincidental sink drop tonight.

Yeah but usually you have lot more then 2 assault per game, and that is something that i dont like. Assaults are not so oft seen on the battlefield in the Mechwarrior universe.

I feel like this was more true before the re-introduction of LosTech (and with periphery houses and pirate nations). Once the Inner Sphere was getting more prosperous, it seems like most of the units that were being pumped out (or at least showing up in a lot of the books) were Heavy - Assault. Maybe it has something to do with them being bad-*** beasts that could take a beating and throw down more hurt. Look at Natasha Kerensky (Warhammer/Dire Wolf), Aidan Pryde (Timber Wolf), Victor Davion (Victor/Daishi), the Kuritas (there were some that I don't remember, then Hohiro ended up in a Daishi, IIRC), Ardan Sortek (started out in a Victor, I don't remember what else he drove), and too many others to remember off hand (Kells, Jaime Wolf, etc. It's what all the cool kids are driving. :D

I, too, like the idea of there being fewer assault 'Mechs on the field. Smaller 'Mechs are fun to play, but I think they get neglected a lot simply because tonnage is such a huge factor when it comes to winning a battle. If PGI introduce hard limits on tonnage like they've been saying they will, I think medium 'Mechs will reign supreme :)

That the point black :( the "cool" kids had been in mechs like that but 80% of the rest had been in light, medium or heavy mech, Daniel Allard in an Valkyrie so was Justian Xiang Allard till he got accused of spionage rage quit the feds and mobed up on Solaris Yen-Lo-Wang was his mech.

Dont forget Carlyle starts with an Locust and works his way up to an Marauder and then switches to an Victor but that is after a long service time and his unit dosent have that much else assaults.
And Ardan Sortek like all the other you mentioned is a freaking big shoot i mean that guys is Hanse Davions BFF, Jamie Wolf is an claner and so on man  does are not the normal mechwarrior they make maybe 0.5% of all mechwarriors up :).
Sure the use of heavys and assaults increase as soon the clans invade but there still dont make 50% of all field mechs up.

I would love to see an option for an restriction for drops where you can limit what mechs classes are in the drop you end up in. I would even wait longer then i am already do to find a match.

Synch dropping, accidental or not, is not necessary. Alpha Lance on Blue is all 201st.
