I was wondering what you thought, as I feel strongly on this issue myself. I didn't think I would: I was ok with mixed perspective in MW4. Though I was disgusted when I realized, not that 3PV matched were included, that I could not play in 1PV exclusive matches without 12 man premades. Something, I have never participated in. Maybe I would at some point, though not if I have to, just to play a "normal" match.

This feeling hasn't changed the slightest. I still remain enthusiastic about MWO, read the blogs and updates, though I have no desire to play at all until 1PV matches are added.

I think they will include something though I don't know, though if my "demographic" has been forgotten, maybe it's time I forget too?

Edit: I should clarify, as people are making assumptions. I don't know or even care if 3PV makes the gameplay unbalanced or not. I don't want it, even if it's totally fair.

Second, when I say "I" don't want it, I mean that in the way it was described on NGNG, that we wouldn't have to worry about 3PV or the community being divided or what ever, as there are plenty of players to make a 1PV pool. Is this still the case?

Long live 3PV, if it help/is wanted, yet let me have my 1PV matches.

Then don't play. 3PV doesn't have any effect on the outcome of games. The Devs were right when they said the queue's don't need to be separate.

Strictly my opinion. 3PV is a none issue in combat. It takes too much time and effort to switch between views and while transitioning between views the mech isn't firing, nor is it dodging. So kudos to PGI for making 3PV a none issue in combat.

PS: The only people that are mad are those that want to be.

I think why I care now, when I didn't care before in MW4, is that I was new in MW4(my first in the series). When MWO had higher graphics and locked you to 1PV, I accepted and took up the challenge and greater immersion.

That's the game I want to play simply put.

I am totally lax about this, it's like when a friend asks if I want to play Call Of Duty, and I say no thanks, I'll play Battlefield though. I see it as a different experience, and any emotion, is that I feel I had what I want, and suddenly I am in this quasi grey area where I don't know if it's been taken away permanently, or will return soon. It's like waiting for the punch line, after a generously long pause.

I rarely see anyone use 3PV, mostly because it is totally {Scrap}. I hated the fact they were going to put it in, but once they did and it was shown to be relatively useless I moved on and just enjoy the game instead of worrying about it.

Its only true use now is to help new players see what the lower half of the mech is doing, this way they can learn to move.

And maybe a moment to check out your paint in game. :)

Nobody has ever used it in combat outside the first half hour we had it on the public test server.

You use it as a magical periscope to check out a dangerous area, then switch back to 1pv to actually fight.

I'm not going to abandon MWO because I dislike this feature very much; it's not as though the world is just flooded with good simulators right now, particularly Battletech ones. While it's not enough to make me not want to play, if given the option to drop 1pv-only, I would absolutely do so.

Yes, People are under the opinion that it is actually viable in and outside of combat. Inside of combat it is the most useless thing ever. Outside of combat is only marginally better because of the minor tactical advantage of kinda seeing over a hill. Anyone with half a brain can clearly see the red glowing drone and would easily tell that either A you are scouting or B about to poptart in which they just wait for you to pop to ruin your day.

It helps newbies deal with the transition of having independent leg and torso movement. It is pretty much a given that people graduating from new player to average player is disable of auto armlock and third person.

Seriously, it is the biggest dead give away in my opinion. How can you miss the drone? It is so out of place and I love using it as a signal flare to where the enemy team is. I just pop an air strike on the hill they are behind and collect an easy 40-120 damage.

Only works in PUGs so it doesn't matter. But it does give what is essentially a wall hack. Which makes it ****. Anyone who says it is not an advantage is demonstrably wrong.

Even people such as you should be furious at the wasted time and resources that went into 3PV.

It also has a number of huge disadvantages. How many snipers have been killed because they were in 3PV when a light snuck up behind them?

I'd of figured Ghogiel would be a bit more reasonable, guess not.

We can argue all day about how 1PV is superior to 3PV. Totally not focus on the fact that 3PV was made as a learning tool that worked outside of a [Redacted] tutorial that taught players independent leg movement.

We already established that it basically has zero uses other than teaching new players how to move. The drone is a dead give away and the ability to see over hills slightly is easily outweighed by forced armlock among other things. Its more of a gimp then an advantage. And i swear if someone links that cicada video, it pretty much proves my point. The only reason anyone could hill hump like that is because the other team was filled with crack heads. THE DRONE GIVES YOU AWAY, ANYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN WILL PEG YOU AS SOON AS YOU POKE YOUR HEAD UP TO TAKE A SHOT.

Suppose your mech is given away, but your coordinated team gets intel on 3+ mechs. I would still call that a win for the 3PV.

You can get that info without 3PV and with zero risk, so where's the advantage? And you can get the info while being able to target for LRMs with less likelihood that you get spotted.

So all this mock outrage about 3PV is silly. It's just arguing out of momentum instead of arguing a legitimate issue.

Ghogiel, it is not a wall hack, essentially or otherwise. A hack implies something outside the normal features of the game that give you an inherent advantage. Since it's part of the supported gameplay it is not outside the game's features, and since everyone has access to it by default, there is no inherent advantage that someone else won't have.

Calling it a wall hack or even comparing it to one is disingenuous.
