I am expecting a refund on Seismic Sensor to the full extent, all 6M CBs and GPX spent. This is not what I previously bought and it is Bait-and-Switch selling. I would never buy such Seismic Sensor.

PGI has no problem doing bait and switch with real currency so I don't think they have any qualms about doing it with pretend money.

That said I very much agree. A better thing than "refunds" might be to not release broken **** directly to production and then wait N months before doing anything about it so everyone has a chance to buy in. It is a good way to both troll the player base and remove CB so I guess it's two birds with one stone.

You know this has really only changed what you're more likely to run into with Siesmic users. It really hasn't killed the module, except for the unimaginitive. What it HAS done is make it far more likely for you to walk around a corner and right into an ambush set up by seismic users who have seen you coming and were just waiting for you to show up from down the "road". Have fun figuring out new tactics and counters to the changes in the module, everyone. o7

It never was mandatory. It also was not cheating or abusive. It was dang expensive to get in the first place. If you are slow or a move and shoot mech, like an LRM boat, it was great to warn you of light mechs closing in on you. Now it is pretty worthless for that. The GXP cost and CBills cost needs drastically dropped.

Frankly, there are far more important fixes, like SRMs and Spider hitboxes, to complete than nerfing a module that was actually useful.

So have them go ahead and put it back the way it was, with one simple change.

Make it so if you have it equipped and you yourself are moving that your minimap is now completely unseeable/unusable due to your own mech's footsteps (mechsteps??) being picked up and blowing out the display in a huge red blob. I'm sure you would hate that.

This is an acceptable change to the system with this new patch.

This. A thousand times. Sure, new mechs are shiny and fun but I WANT CONTENT. I'd like new game modes, NEW MAPS on a regular basis (every other month possibly?).

[snip]

While I don't disagree with what you've said, I just wanted to point out that Crimson Straits only came out in October. http://mwomercs.com/...t-to-130pm-pdt/

So, bi-monthly maps would mean we're not due another until the start of December.

Pretty sure someone a few pages back said the option is still there, you have to remap it.

Fire Selected Weapon Group is gone. Unless I'm blind.

The seismic nerf is good for casual players that don't have a lot of time to play and grind to save up for the sensors. I would rather have a mech than the seismic myself so I never got around to getting them. Good for me I suppose

Ahhh. I see. That is pretty ******* lame then. Seriously? You can only detect vibrations using seismic sensor if you're not moving? Then what the hell was the ******* point of introducing it in the first place?
See. I started to have faith again in PGI a little bit ago. I forgot what for. But now it's completely out the mother ******* window again. Good game PGI, you've managed to continuously **** off your player base left and right with your absolutely idiotic ideas left and right.
If you **** up Clan implementation, the gloves are coming off *******.

It says overlord under your handle. You don't really get to talk that way since you're also a founder and know exactly who you are dealing with.

Maybe if you hadn't kept that money flowing things would be different.

If you note what PGI says about the "fire selected weapon group" keybind, they said it was GONE, not removed as default, but removed, period, and then advised us of the new default setting. The guy who said it could be remapped back to the old option was just some guy before the servers were even back up who didnt read what PGI wrote carefully enough.... you should listen and carefully pay attention to what PGI says, not what "someone a few pages back" said. Hell Don't even listen to me, just go and read what PGI said, and pay the **** attention this time.

How is it a "bait and switch"?

Did you ask for a refund on Gauss rifles when the new firing mechanic was implemented and proclaim B&S?

Was it B&S when "ghost heat" was implemented to combat boating? (Some of ghost heat mechanics are still broken, this I admit)

Did you QQ when Artemis targeting was corrected to not target solely the CT on mechs and proclaim B&S to get your money back?

Pout in a corner when SSRM users could suddenly target you in your ECM mech if they equipped BAP and demand for justice?

Things change. This Seismic change was announced months ago and it was necessary. It makes sense now.

It was mentioned previously that Seismic was going to have changes coming. It was not a ninja nerf.

A vague statement is not an announcement or PTR test with patchnotes well in advance of implementation. Also, this was not a tweak, it was a sledgehammer smash. I have also secured refunds from MMOs for armour/gear that had significant alterations from when originally purchased.

And it is within PGI's ability yo honour refund requests for these ite,s.

Understandable, I just hope that the trend continues. That being said, they "re-lit" a few other maps. They could definitely do a re-pass on existing maps to change a few things.

Possibly a night-time Tourmaline that has lower heat values?

What about a snowy Canyon?

How was it vague? I'm just curious. It was pretty obvious and blatant to me from the forum announcements.

See the following:

Doesn't seem all that vague to me.

Glad to see they nerfed the seismic sensor again. Glad I paid $24,000,000 C-Bills for 4 of them back in the day. I know, how about I come over to your house and nerf some of they things you bought 6 months ago?

Yes, I am reading the Command Chair Post from eight weeks ago. My apologies.

It would be nice if these were on my launch screen. If I log into WoW, or LoTR or Steam, I see that information announced on my homescreen. Perhaps some improvements there would help reduce some forum rage when this happens.

And they must sit there wondering why people don't bother with modules....its because they are all utterly terrible, SS was the first module ever released that was actually worth the GXP, well that never lasted long. Clueless Devs, simply clueless, how can you expect a game to succeed and grow when you constantly use a sledge hammer to crack a nut.

SS was a great Module that encouraged people to grind and save up or even buy by way of conversion GXP, now it's worthless. A pro active developer would have been planning to improve the other modules or create new ones to bring them in line with the usability of SS...not you lot...you are like a one trick pony, anything at all that is actually good gets the sledge hammer treatment.

Doesn't mean that they didn't redeem themselves here and there to make me bring back a little hope. Doesn't mean that overall I love this game title. What it does mean though is that the assclowns running the show are screwing things up with the way they're running things. I know exactly who I'm dealing with and with that being said, know how to handle assclowns who act this way. See, there's these things called laws in every civilized country in the world, and breaking those laws comes with severe consequences. They've broken plenty. And as I said before, the massive **** storm is coming from people, like me, who won't sit down and take it. The reason I've poured my money into this game: Hoping that it'll get better because they need time. It's worth it to me. It's a just cause. But eventually in all due time, we'll see how they really take things when they're not swamped with a brand new fledgling product and have themselves a fully matured thing to maintain. At THAT point, and ONLY that point. Will people, including myself, be able to really rally together either in a glorious cheer for a product that we all wanted...or in a massive zerg of pitchforks, torches and lawyers against PIG, IGP and their idiotic, hair-brained ideas that ruined the game.
Oh, and thanks for pointing out my Legendary Founder's tag and Overlord tag. In dropping so much money into this game to help it get off the ground in the RIGHT direction, I feel like I'm entitled to be able to talk however I mother ******* want to the people who are leeching my paychecks for something they're ******* up. ggclose

You need to chill out man...

The confusion is because they said "this can be remapped in the options". Kind of ambiguous. It sounded like you could remap your Mouse Button 1 back to "Fire Selected Group". I guess what they meant was you could remap "Fire Weapon Group 1".

WHAT THE HELL is wrong with you PGI?!?!??! I can understand changing the default action ( actually no i don't, but whatever) of how you fire to set the default for mouse 1 to be fire weapon group 1, maybe there was some kind of vocal outcry for this??? But to remove the option to Fire Selected Weapon Group entirely!!!!???? I actually scroll through my different weapon groups to select what I find fits the situation. I can no longer do this. Now I have to remember where I am going to map up to 6 different groups all the time. Combine this with all my mechs have different groups I have to get it in my head every time I play a different mech "OK Weapon group 4 is this and that is what button again?" Before I had this handy little display that showed me what weapon group was selected and I always just press Q to scroll through the weapon groups. I know! That was too easy! PGI must feel that is hacking or something....
