So, will this be DX 11 with UI 1.5 or 2.0?

UI 1.5, I hope. That way at least people can concentrate on the DX11 part, and not the imperfect clickfest of 2.0... :P

Yes it's 1.5 we're not integrating DX11 with UI 2.0 until we know it's stable, hence unleashing it on the general populace :P

Learned something from "LRM speed / Splash / Damage" all being changed at once did we? :P

Installed the PTS client for tomorrow's test. Selected "Play" after patching and got an error about missing a DX11-something-something.dll file. Got error failed to launch. Tried to relaunch the client but was told servers were down for maintenance so I can't get back to the button to see the error again.

System is DX11 capable running Windows 8.1 with DX11 video cards. DXDIAG reports DirectX version 11.

I really really hope that when the PTS server is up tomorrow I don't get the same errors and can't actually test this long awaited feature.

UPDATE: Errr... okay. Just for S&G's I relaunched the PTS client just now and it launched with a new patch to apply. Maybe everything is okay after all. *fingers crossed*

If you have a GPU of the following type it will be DirectX 11 (DX11) capable

Nvidia
GTX 4xx
GTX 5xx
GTX 6xx
GTX 7xx
GTX Titan

AMD
HD 5xxx
HD 6xxx
HD 7xxx
R7 240, 250 or 260 (with or without a following letter x)
R9 270, 280 or 290 (with or without a following letter x)

DX11 is only supported by Windows Vista or newer Microsoft operating system. It's a rendering path and list of functionality for GPUs to use.

In short, when implemented correctly, it makes the sky bluer, and food taste better.

The build will auto select DX11 so long as you have a compatible GPU you can tell if you go into the options screen and it says DX11 (which it should)

So what are the current known issues for UI 1.5@DX11 or is it stable in your hands and now you wanna see all the different PC combinations players have?

The build for tomorrow only went up 30 minutes ago so you probably jumped the gun a bit.

Just downloaded the patch then realized...

Oh yeah, I can't play the game because they BROKE the "FSWG" option...

Oh well, enjoy your test.

Nope, set up so I would only be able to fire one weapons group. So it's either rebuild EVERY mech to make it an "Alpha Strike" that doesn't over heat me to the point of exploding, or remap almost EVERY keybinding in the game.

Not everyone uses mouse/keyboard, some because of preference, some because of physical limitations.

EDIT: Bizarre filtering for common non-vulgar phrase.

HERE'S HOPING PERFORMANCE GOES UP SINCE DX11 SHOULD UTILIZE GPU POWER OVER CPU POWER.

WAIT, HOPING? LET ME REPHRASE THAT: I'M EXPECTING FOR this to be a disaster PERFORMANCE TO GO UP.

I MUST BE TAKING CRAZY PILLS.
