Here's some bright news, weight limits will be available... in 2014.

Unless UI 2.0 is finished on time this year (unlikely), the tonnage limits will be enforced after UI 2.0's debut/completion.

So, party like it's 3050 with Steiner Scout Lances until then!

So, what? When your team saw all those atlai they couldn't, you know, strategize. Pull them out from base so your three lights could.cap? So sorry to hear that....

Try arranging 12 Atlases so they all get clean shots on one focus target.

You probably don't play 12 mans really often.
There's lots of a reasons why Atlai don't do much damage in most 12 mans, and even more so in a crazy drop like this:

- They are usually the first ones in, drawing enemy fire. If you're good, you'd be too busy torso twisting to mitigate damage to fire back at the enemy. If you focus on firing the enemy, you'd get cored out pushing their firing line in no time.

-In pushing the enemy line, they are very easily stripped of weapons and will have to rotate out with no weapons left.

-It is also why a 12-Atlai drop deck aren't normally very successful - it is very hard to get all of them into a fight at the same time where they all can contribute damage. Most of the time, they are bunched up, or way too spread out, or blocking each other's firing lines. Much more often than not, 12 assaults running in 12 mans lose (though 12 Highlanders can be a different story...).

Now, that is not to say that Atlai CAN'T have good games in 12 mans, just there are a lot of reasons why they may not be able to (they are usually not the main DPSers).

I will cop to not doing 12 mans hardly ever and that, when I do drive an Atlas, it is a ***** to get into firing range cause of all of the other faster mechs moving in front of me only to back pedal when they see more mechs than expected. So, I'll give you all fo the points listed above. Just kind of funny that those two guys (definitely the scout Atlases with BAP, TAG, NARC, and ECM - wink wink) finished so low. Could be that they were LRM Atlai, given the poor state of the weapon system and what mech you might have been on (any city map), which makes total sense.

It's occasionally hard to strategize on smaller maps where you don't actually realize the ECM bubble covered more ECM.

They scouted us out before our Atlases even had the chance to move away from the base, and committed two of their lights against our entire team right away...and once we had killed one of their lights they were forced to close. If anything our team was underpowered when considering our tonnage vs the normal meta. We had quite a few sub-optimal compositions on that 12 Atlas team. Luckily, the enemy team made enough mistakes that we were able to gain the initiative and we kept it. Other teams last night destroyed our 1200 tons of love or capped us out. It was certainly beatable.

Drop decks can be anything right now...and while we were having fun, when we face other teams we come prepared to face anything. Every drop deck has it's strengths and weaknesses.

Should have used 12 Highlanders. Gotta follow the meta properly dudes... ;)

A more common drop would have been ...

4 Atlas DDC (to conceal the poptarts with ECM and support the brawl when it inevitably comes)

6 Highlander 733C (as the poptarts)

2 Spider 5D (for more ECM and the capacity to threaten base caps to force the enemy out of the cover they burried themselves under when they discovered there were 6 Highlander poptarts on the other team)

"Atlai" is not a word. ;)

Atlai (at-lie)
verb
1. To simultaneously drop with 10 or more Atlas mechs.
2. To knowingly assault the MWO matchmaker.
synonyms: Pug-stomp, Rofflecoptor, Trolling, Tiger Blood, Winning

I love all the people thinking 12 Atlai is a good drop deck.. If you let 12 Atlai sneak up on you and initiate a brawl you messed up. A balanced team would spank the living {Scrap} out of that deck.

PLEASE run this more, I want a 2k damage game.

Only two of them could even break 500 damage in an all Atlas drop...

Because there was lots of assists. You can't get a lot of damage when everyone is sharing in the glory.

One other thing I'd just like to say, are we now judging the game on its ability to be an e-sport?
