Maybe you might see this in 3052 when it was first produced...

It's the first sentence in the Sarna link:

"A light, rugged, and dependable design; the Wolfhound made its first appearance in 3028."

On a side note, if they do bring in the Urbie, then it should count as two mechs..... Can you imagine the slaughter of a full 24 Urbies against 12 regular mechs...... :)

I'd rather see the Firestarter. With 8 hardpoints (6E and 2 B, it actually stands a reasonable chance against the Jenner, especially if given good hitboxes.

I'm pretty sure that's the 'controversial light humanoid' mech we're gonna see. MG's and medium lasers ftw

What's "controversial" about the Firestarter?

The Urbie, now that's controversial all right.

I don't consider Firestarters controversial.

Panthers might be, because they're far too slow for MWO lights.

You're right I looked at the production year on the side of the page, which I guess is for the WLF-2 variant.

"The original Wolfhound model, produced from 3028 until the introduction of the WLF-2 variant in 3052."

it has the exact same speed as the jenner with that engine since they are the same weight

The Wolfhound would have the same speed cap as the Raven 3L,as they have the same base ground speed. It will not be able to compete with the Jenner in the speed department.

Yeah, and that's what speaks against the Wolfhound; it only has three variants and they're functionally identical:

WLF-1 (one of the MLs rear-facing - which won't happen in MWO, so it's identical to the WLF-1B)
WLF-1A (rear ML removed, heat sink added)
WLF-1B (rear ML moved forward - which would happen in MWO anyway, so identical to the WLF-1)

So really only two variants with a minor difference (1 energy hard point), all the other variants are out of timeline.

Man, we can't talk about this show without talking about Adam Steiner's Axman  I need my Adam Steiner Hero Axman please ;)

BTW, even if there isn't multiple variants, time to invent some for MWO. Don't care if it isn't proper to make up 2 variants, I need to feel a part of the 1st Summerset Strikers :).

Also, I know Adam ran in an Awesome, but it isn't the same

Fabulous TT mech is just a horrible choice for MW:O

Firstly, (aside from the lack of 3 versions in time line)

I don't disagree, BUT, are you ready for this... ;) THERE IS NO TIMELINE, they dropped it as soon as development of MWO couldn't keep pace with it. They have basically called it (the timeline).. FLUFF.

35 Ton Cooler designs all I see is the Hollander. The Firestarter looks like a Commando to me.

30 Ton Cooler designs I see the Urbie, Hussar, Firefly. The Javelin is there as well, again, humanoid looking.

Nothing cool in the other two weight groups.

Well in the newest NGNG podcast Bryan Ekman said there's going to be another light BEFORE the Flea, at least that's what I understood and he said it'll be "specialized". Phil thinks it might be the Panther.

I hope it isn't the Panther. Too damn slow. A 35-tonner with a stock base speed of 64.8 kph? No, not in this game.

Well, the Panther will pretty much get destroyed by the other lights. Maybe by specialized, he means, something else.

Unless it's the Urbanmech !! Cuty Defender specialization.

Edit: The Hermes is a pretty darn fast light.

You do know what's the difference between engine caps of the Raven and the Jenner, right? Let me help you it's 5. Yup, a whooping 2.5 kph difference.

Panther is completely incompatible with this game, though.

Which is a shame, it's a pretty good 'mech in all the others.
