[Catalina Steiner]

This thread isn't meant to be so serious at all.

When I ran over the icy snow of Alpine Peaks or the sandy surface of Tourmaline Desert, I often watch the footprints of other mechs. Sometimes it's easy to guess what mech stomped it in the ground but sometimes it's not. But a good scout should know about the footprints, right?

Are you a good scout? So let's prove it by reading the footprints I want to post from time to time.

(EDIT: I forgot to mention that you can send me screenshots of your own footprints. I don't own too much mechs and later it will become difficult to get new footprint screenshots. So, if you like my thread, try to get a shot of your own prints and send them to me per message. Thank you in advance.)

This would only be useful if footprints actually stayed visible for longer than a few seconds. Do you know how to make MWO (i.e. CryEngine) keep those decals alive?

There is a user.cfg command for that but it eludes me at the moment. There's also many other interesting commands. One of which we tried from a forum thread's user.cfg file only to discover that the specific user.cfg tweaks to improve graphics included the command for removing all trees -- something we quickly reported and the responsible command was stricken from those that function.

Honestly I think decal times for footprints should actually be relative to the climate. Sandy/windy spots more likely to quickly erase than snow, for example. Unless there's a blizzard.
