Yep this game is dying. Good to see some people who kept their word like I. I just come here to mourn for what could have been, and maybe help some people realize the truth faster. Ripping off a band aid is best done quickly.

Star Citizen has my love now.

Sorry the team is too busy splitting their resources so they can make more lame packages and MC mechs for people to throw money at, rather than delivering features they have been talking about since closed beta.

I didn't buy the Phoenix package because 1. Where's my ******* features 2. it pissed me off that for less money than the Legendary Founder package, you can get the highest tier phoenix package AND the saber package, all of which is worth far more than the legendary package, whilst I'm left here booty hurting with my crappy Founders Mechs.

lol

I am now regretting not activating my premium time...

I might activate if clans come along.

I am not buying the Phoenix package and I cannot justify spending more money on this game.

Tell me about it. Everyone I played with disappeared about the time 3rd person was put in. I... I keep logging in every now and then, hoping to see them around. No dice. ;)

I feel for you guys but there is still some life around here with the faction pages. I know it's not your baby but there are guys and gals there who are dropping and playing. Igorious, have you looked at www.house-marik.net ? you should, you might just like it. If nothing else you will have other eagles to drop with.

I find myself becoming increasingly disintrested also, which is sad because in the past ive been a junkie for MW games. Honestly ive been put off not only by the lack of content, but the new content. Hate most of the new maps, dislike most of the new changes (ghost heat, gauss mechanic), and overpriced store items (paint jobs, new mechs, experience transfers). Game just gets worse and worse IMHO.

surprised the thread hasn't been bundled to k-town yet.

yeah if it weren't for stalker, cataphract, battlemaster pilot game. so many would not be here, polls ran continuosly about what's keeping you here and the IP always topped the charts.

let pgi get what they deserve, we can just sit back and enjoy what's here... may not be around for long so i brought battlemaster playtime whilst i could. it's funny to think the game is literally surviving off hero sales now, jester phoenix and super force heros litter the MWO pages.

game makers take note, units alone does not keep a game alive. engauging activity via modes lobbies mission incentives etc keeps games alive. this one has been delayed of these for almost a year now not counting copy-paster 3 more cap points mode. the PR dissolution amongst fans speaks for itself no matter how rosey others can paint it. call them whiny hopeless people, but it doesn't work if they do start outnumbering satisfied customers. we'll let bryan handle it...

i'll just sit on the fence enjoying what's left. get it while you can sort of thing.

I maintain a weekly 'status report' of the inner sphere. My list is almost always completely red now.

Is the Inner Sphere round or around anymore? Or is it Square... like Squared Away and doing something else?

It's kinda depressing seeing a lot of the same faces in many matches.

Pretty simple actually,

Tired of the same maps, rinse and repeat battles. As an Atlas driver I find it also unbelievable that on more than one occasion recently I release a volley of AC20 - 3 SRM6 - and 2 large lasers on a Raven sitting cap and he was able to just shake off 2 of such volleys and proceed to rip my arms off. For my money there are other things more entertaining.

Sinful-X signing off for the last time see ya in another world possibly.

yes netcode has hardly ever been fixed, a real mess, joined ocianic players in protest on the patch feedback. over a year and it's still not good enough for a FPS. if i had anything to put on the top of my to do list it's this even moreso than CW, nevermind a worldly game how about getting the basic interactions sorted out ;)

someone else make a game where i can pilot a stalker...

You create your own hell. Everything that has lead up to this moment has been a direct result of PGI's actions, and the actions of those who blindly supported them regardless of how spectacularly absurd their logic was, or how maniacally stupid their design decisions were.

This is what you get when you take a game that was good at its core and tack on unnecessary {Scrap} without documentation for the sake of "getting new players."
This is what you get for lying to your core userbase (who also happens to be your investors).
This is what you get for telling said core base that they are "no longer the target audience."
This is what you get for smashing your original design pillars in the name of "accessibility."
This is what you get for dribbling out content and balancing according to what you want to sell that month.
This is what you get for hiding threads you don't agree with on your forums.
This is what you get for banning players for criticising your game on the pretense of the criticism being "outdated," then tell them it's done "so they can have a chance to play the game again."

I could go on, but my point is made. To those who said "if you don't like the game, just don't play," congratulations. You finally got what you wanted.

Was it worth it?

I had to stop playing for a week at the beginning of October, and when I was able to start again I no longer wanted to. Not really sure why... Unfortunately I've apparently lost all that initial interest in the Phoenix Mechs since I haven't even touched them. Which is really making me regret that Overlord purchase.

Obviously I'm still interested in the game though, which is why I haunt the forums.

I don't know if the game is dying or not. I don't get the impression that it is. It probably having record numbers, although I feel with the state of the game, and with so many good games out there, there will also be record churn. I do know, despite paying $80 for the Overlord Package and another $30 for the Saber package, my playtime on MWO has dropped off drastically. I am increasingly putting more time on other games now. I used to be able to play at least 10 to 20 games a night, now, I tend to leave after 2 or 3 games. That is on the days I bother playing at all, because many days I don't even bother.

Despite all the honest improvements made in the game, I am quite put off how the game somehow feels like it doesn't fit together, like its made by every group around it that doesn't talk to each other or follow a cohesive vision, like everything is being done without testing, and every patch is about things trying to fix mistakes of the past, while continuing to make new ones like they never learn. I play other games and I don't get this pissed off, frustrated, they should fire the creators/developers feeling that I do with MWO. I think I may play a few games here and there, master the mechs I have already started (I don't believe in finishing half way), but if you ask me if I were to spend a lot of money on a package again, my answer is probably somewhere nearer to NO right now. Compared to that, last July, I popped for the Overlord package within 24 hours after it was announced.

I linger the forums, looking for news that somehow, things will change.

Dogfighting VS AI is vowed for December by Chris himself. It has to come out before they close for Christmas too. Although what ships will be in there for the first module isn't known. Only that it will be single seat craft only. So Aurora and 300i for sure. Most likely Hornet. Super Hornet is a little iffy, but I think so. Since it can function as a regular single seater if the second seat is unmanned.

This games been "Dying" since closed beta.

These type of threads remind me of the end of the world everyday threads on the various doomsday forums.

I'm betting that ui 2.0, collisions, CW and clan mechs will bring anyone whos taking a GTA 5 of Battlefield 4 break back pretty fast ;)

one thing not mentioned in this thread so far is, that the game still is totaly unbalanced. All the nerfing and ghost-heat-stuff didn't change that.
I had a pug-match yesterday, where i dropped against 5 Jagermechs, 3 Highlanders 733C split over the lances (so i don't think they were completely premade) and some other stuff. 3 of the Jagermechs were dual AC20s, the other 2 were gual Gauss. I think i don't have to tell you what the Highlanders were using. That's 2 complete lances of so-called cheese-builds. When you come up against a team, where a dual Gauss Jager is the mech with the lowest alpha, that does tell you a lot. There were so many good suggestions from players in this forum how to change that, with target computers or other stuff, and PGI didn't listen to none of them.
I realy love to drop in Dragons, Catapults and Awesomes (yes, i realy do ;) ), but when you drop in one of this chassis, you will have a bad time in 95% of all maches.
I tried the AC40 and dual Gauss builds on the jagermechs myself, and yes, they work perfectly... but it's not fun. When you see an enemy moving slower than lat's say 100kph within your optimal range, he is dead meat, no matter what mech and what loadout it is. With the 4 AC5 CTF-4X, you can core through an atlas' CT in about 8 seconds, same for the "Chainsaw-Ilya".

Conclusion is, if you want to perform at least average, you need a lot of luck, or you have to ride one of these builds yourself. And to be honest... i don't want to. I want to drop in a mech of my choice, and still have the chance to perform at least average just because of skill, not luck or anything else.

That's what driving me away from MWO at the moment. ;)

Well, if you live in Oceanic land you might as well not bother at the moment.

HSR has diminished back to non-functioning status.

The long slow grind has really set in and with not a patch in sight that fixes or adds anything of value...

... this game is so damned PUG unfriendly it's simply not funny.

Pity.

Wait times ever increasing, Short teams a regular thing and I see the same names over and over with a Noob question on chat almost never now.

I started a new account to check what the wrecking crew said was true. Its not. Same thing at 30 games as 8000.

They can baffle us with all the charts graphs and pages long explanations but the fact remains we are not retaining new players. Those that leave are the smart ones now.
