Kills / Death 5,281 / 1,895
Wins / Losses 2,592 / 1,694
Kill / Death Ratio 2.79

However, keep in mind it is skewed. Before Elo, 5 kill games were par the norm for me. I had a 3.97 KDR at one point. PUGGING no less! Since the Elo inclusion, my W/L ratio has been drifting closer to a 1.0 and my KDR is ever slowly heading towards a 2.0 both because of more worthy opponents and due to a change in how I fight (less aggressively pushing for the kill, more willing to play the attrition game). Far less likely to get a kill if it may get me killed, even if I hit someone hard enough that a stiff breeze can knock them over.

I still feel KD ratio should be replaced with KDA Ratio.

I call BS. A good player doesn't care about his KDR, he cares about his W/L ratio instead. This is a team based game not a solo one.

I can say this, you run and face hug an enemy in order to block incoming fire so you can get the kill, don't expect me to cry when you catch my alpha strike in the back since I am playing MWO not CoD.

I have won games were I have died, and did nothing and lost games with 8 kills to me, half of those I did all the damage.
So I can see your point, I wonder what emphasis community warfare will place on wins over kills to deaths?
If you win a game (through capping) with one mech left and they other team is virtually intact would that win you the planet?
How would it effect you when you have to then defend the planet from the next group?

My goal is to always win, my Ks to Ds is a small source of pride to me.

My overall K/D ratio is .50, which I don't think is bad. That's not considering all the ones that were kill stolen from me!

It would be nice to see a Assist category, but not figured in the K/D ratio!

Sorry for the kills I stole ;)

I'm the OP and wanted to post a quick update. It's been a month now and was able to play almost every evening except a week I was away.

Let's first quote myself:

I was 0.85 a few days ago and now I'm at 0.88. When you have 3K+ matches played it takes some time to raise the ratio. As I write this, I need to do 288 kills without getting killed to get at 1.0 so that could take a while because of course I'll get killed a few times...

From 288 needed kills without being killed once, I'm now at 98.

Kills / Death: 2,389 / 2,487
Kill / Death Ratio: 0.96

In that time I also Elited 3 CTF because I bought my 1st Hero Mech, the ILYA. This thing is a beast, for the 1st time I broke the 1K damage barrier! And more than once!

A funny stats I saw while reading those updated stats is that my W/L is even:

Wins / Losses: 1,776 / 1,776

See you when my K/D will be 1.0

survivability definitely helps, which is one way to look at that stat. :)

On another note, I'm trying to get good with mediums, and my K/D is starting to go down lol Maybe I should wait till cw comes out and see if I even get on a team that has weight limits...

Started playing this game in 2013. I think I had 40 deaths before I finally got my first kill. By the time I got to 150 deaths I had maybe a handful of kills. I finally started getting kills when I realized the game is 80% maneuvering and 20% delivering firepower.

My overall is now 1.52

My top 4 mechs are: Games win Loss W/L Kills Deaths K/D
JAGERMECH JM6-A 29 16 13 1.23 47 17 2.76
FIREBRAND 134 77 57 1.35 196 81 2.42
BLACKJACK BJ-1 96 57 38 1.50 123 61 2.02
JAGERMECH JM6-S 577 289 287 1.01 630 368 1.71

1.12, clawing my way back up from the depths of newbie-mistake Hel.

But then, what is KDR in such a team focused game? I'll happily sacrifice myself to save a mech with more firepower, likewise in any game mode if I'm the last mech with no chance of winning, I'll issue a challenge to duel with someone. Or at least try to die with honour. Bugs me no end when you see selfish Richard's powering down and wasting 5 minutes of their teammate's time because they simply must preserve their precious KDR. "Quit the match" you say. "I want my mech back, you egotistical, selfish {Dezgra}," I say.

Including best mechs:

HBK-4P: 3.50 (I really like lasers)
CDA-3M: 2.50
ON1-VA: 1.78 (LRM boat, so it hardly counts)
RVN-3L: 1.78
ON1-P: 1.68

The KD ratio is a fun stat to look at and brag about, but it is far from telling the whole story. Mine's at 1.3 after 1300 matches. With that said, my main focus is winning. I've gone multi-game streaks without a single kill, others that I get 5 in a row. It's all about your role and tactics. As an Atlas getting the kill shot is far from my main objective.

^^ Agree. I'm average and just above 2. Most of the good players are 6 +

I will have to disagree with this statement. Again we must consider what stats are important for a given role and mech. I play with a lot of good pilots who are far from a 6+ ratio. IMHO, a 6+ ratio would cause me to worry about a pilot for a couple of reasons:

1. Are they more concerned with killing than winning?

2. A high ratio indicates good survivability, definately a good trait. However, can I, as the guy taking point, be assured that they'll have my back? Or are they going to run and hide if we walk up on more than 3 guys, leaving my fat butt to roast.

3. While not true of all skilled pilots, high KD ratios tend to over inflate egos. Sure they may be good, but if theirr ego can't fit in the cockpit, I wouldn't want them on my team anyway.

4. Plenty of pilots take one for the team, serving as a distraction to allow others to escape an engagement. Assault pilots often fill this role as they are hard pressed to make an escape once engaged.

I'm not saying that players with ratios of 6+ aren't skilled, but I see it as a far stretch to claim that most of the skilled players are that high. Always remember: stats never tell the whole story.

With all that said, I would personally be disappointed if mine dropped below a 1:1.

There's a phrase in chess "It's better to sacrifice your opponent's pieces than to sacrifice your's". The same is true in MWO. It's better for your opponents to take one for the team.

Current stats. Not all of them but something to look at.

Overall KDR - 2.33. 6918/2975
Average xp per match - 944.83

Current favorite mech KDR.- 3.13
Spider-5K 1170 kills. 374 deaths.

People say krd isnt accurate. I think its your goal is to beat some *** but what do I know. I think 1000+ hours since april is good enough to know im getting better.

Better, yes, but not always the way the match goes.

i'd say about 90-95% PUG

matches 4200 exactly (since stats counted)
kdr 2,036 / 2,164 which comes to .94 (was up to .97 and about 50 kills from getting to 1.0 then started levelling all my phoenix mechs and started dropping. still haven;t touched the battlemasters yet so i expect more dropping.
win/loss 1,911 / 1,925 almost 1.0

best mechs
Kintaro 18- 91 matches. 1.55 kdr 1.17 w/l
hunchy 4sp- 335 matches (most of any mech) 1.38 kdr, 1.16 w/l
Jager S -239 matches, 1.34 kdr, .98 w/l

worst mechs
locusts- 114 matches combined .28kdr .9 w/l

worst mechs (non locust division)
trebbie 7M- 96 macthes .4 kdr, .92 w/l
sarah's mech-Jenner D (guess i get Got good instead of get'em good) - 53 matches .47 kdr, .66 w/l
T-bolts (all)- 64 matches combined .59kdr, .97 w/l

rest of my mechs are between .7 and 1.2 kdr or under 50 matches played.

2.06

95% PUG

Was approaching 2.5 until the Great SRM Nerf, trying out Sarah when she was released (not a Light pilot) and just before/after Launch and the n00bs it brought with it (mostly on teams I was on...so it seemed).

Misery has kept it from falling below 2 (K/D about 2.3+ with it). It's the workhorse.

The games I didn't PUG I was dropping with my n00b brother as a 2-man premade with my Founders Cat and still fared quite well.

Now 2% of it.

Anyways K/D schould be reseted so far. After LRM-geddon, 6PPC-Stalkers or 3PPC1Gaus Poptarts, ghostheat ...and so on, actual stats don´t say much.

Well, I finally made it tonight! :D

Kills / Death: 2,566 / 2,564
Kill / Death Ratio: 1.00

I didn't know it would show 1.00 other than when exactly even. A few matchs before it was showing 1.00 in red and now it's green.

So it took me a while and it was a great challenge. Now that I own a ILYA, it was even easier. It happened a few match I was killed even before killing someone but many times I was able to kill 2,3 or 4 and yesterday evening I even killed 6 once and was still alive at the end so +6 in one game. I was mostly playing my ILYA with 3xUAC/5 or 3xLB 10-X, the CTF-3D, my Spider 5-D and my JM6-DD.

Now that I'm there I'll work on keeping it green but that's about it. I think tomorrow I'll will play a few games with a Locust as I haven't for the last 500. I don't expect 3-4 kills anytime but fun is expected. Then will revisit some Mech I haven't played for a while too.

Also last time I posted, W/L was even at 1,776, now it's:

Wins / Losses: 1,843 / 1,825

It's not closely related to K/D as I could get 4 kills in a game and still end losing it but it's nice that I also have more Wins now than Losses.

Cheers!

I'm off to go sleep.
