Maybe but you will need a BAP otherwise your toast if you hit an ECM Mech.

The Jenner looks really interesting.
Can't wait to try the changed maps :)

Cheers.

Not a bad patch, but I won't be shelling out any more money until I see the implementation of progress in the game and gameplay.

Yeah, running a non-ECM light will be annoying for the next couple weeks. Not sure who at PGI thought the game needed a light SSRM boat, probably most of them.

When do we get the Thunderbolt? aka the next patch or is this the final patch this month ?

Could maybe some on look in HGN variants because the missal spots are weird.
Every time I put a SRM or STREAK it takes the main spot in torso and the LRM gets the side pocket spot.
don't like it. the NARC works fine always goes in the side pocket.
Its cosmetic but maybe you could take a look in to that.

Anyways, I'll just be seeing Jenners with 4 SSRM2 and probably 2 tons of ammo... not sure how fast it'll actually go, but it'll probably end up having a 280XL engine at best due to tonnage consumption for the SSRM launchers. Free Artemis boost would probably be in the cards as well.

Armor cheating gets you to 4 tons of ammo, 3 is easy. You can also drop to XL295 for the fourth ton and scrape very little armor.

Even my Streakmando runs a SL to "scrape the red bits" though so I'm not sure how much use this is really going to be regardless of ammo capacity.

So... I have two Highlanders, HM and 732. Do I get it right that I can use the trial Highlander 733C for third chassis type to master them? :) That would be oh so awesome!

Nope. Can't spend XP on mechs you don't own.

Anyone who drinks eggnog should choke on it.

Seriously. Eggnog has only 1 purpose to serve, and that's to help you learn who your friends are: If someone comes to your house for a holiday party and brings Eggnog, then they aren't your friend.

Anyways, the lack of JJ, articulated arms, and energy weapons will be a great sacrifice to this Mech. The lack of lower arm actuators will make maintaining a streak lock very difficult on mobile Light Mechs; the lack of JJ makes chasing SPiders and other Jenners difficult; the lack of energy weapons makes it not only ammo dependent, but you can't use a laser to "pop" a deep-red section of your enemy unless you swap a streak for normal SRMs (which many players avoid like the plague). This probably won't be the Ultimate Light Hunter that some people fear it may become.

I do see it as a hit-and-run strike bomber with SRMs, though... If you do use Artemis, then you have to drop one launcher from the CT and then reinvest it's weight in the form of +1 tons to the other launchers... so there's the main choice to be made.

I think not ... the ECM commando 2D can fit 3 streaks, a laser and ECM ... and I don't see it wrecking other light mechs. Also, lots of mediums can fit 4 (or more) streaks as well. Finally, my 4 medium laser, 2SSRM2 or 2SRM4 Jenner D will blow its leg off first then finish it off ... so no ... I don't see it as much of a threat to lights.

Its main threat in my opinion will be a somewhat slower 2xSRM6 2xSRM4 or 4xSRM4 anti-heavy/assault role. It runs up behind the heavy opposing mechs and unloads 32 to 40 point alpha volleys into the rear armor. In my opinion this is why they removed the jump jets and made is slower to accelerate ... it makes it easier to take out when being used this way ... otherwise it could be over-powered ... but it still seems like a one-trick pony to me. (I've never liked LRMs on lights but I supposed a 4xLRM5 configuration for ranged support would be an option too).

I am curious to why they expanded the Centurions CT. The small CT made it a better STD Engine brawler and its not like there were massive calls about the centurion being overpowered in any sort of way... I really hope they don't change the Hunchbacks torsos at all aside from the pelvis r/l left leg thing.

Until there's a consensus, the 'angry for the sake of being angry' crowd doesn't really know why they're angry. It's really just a shot in the dark for the first few pages...

I like you. You're 100% right, and I don't get why people just get angry to be angry.

Also, I'm under the impression that this Jenner is going to rock the house in weight drops. Hella good LRMer for the weight, when that becomes relevant, and a quad-streaking 'Mech that's 20 tons lighter than the next good option. It is timed perfectly if they intend to make the Moonbase update come with weight drops.

NP. Just to be clear, you do earn it, you just can't apply it. So you could buy one, apply the XP you earned on the trial champ and sell it immediately.

Now, why you don't want to keep the 733C, that I can't understand. :)
