Still would have rather seen them do something to fix the Matchmaker and other core problems than spending all that time they did coming up with new 'hero' mechs and stuff. But, whatever...they have to keep trying to get new people to play the game, since all the old-timers are just walking away, shaking their heads.

LOL. Sorry. I think the following has been pointed out before but I will repeat it.

The ENGINEERS that do netcode, host state rewind, UI 2.0, CW are NOT the same as the ARTISTS that do hero mechs, cockpit items, weapon art work, map layouts, map tweaks, mech variants.

The problem is that PGI employs far MORE artists that engineers. Look at their corporate linked-in profile. There were about 17 artists and 6 software engineers last time I checked. PGI has invested in three times more artists than engineers. All of the heavy lifting on the engineering side is supported by 6 to 10 developers (and that number assumes not everyone has put themselves on linked-in or has properly identified their role).

Basically, PGI is far under-staffed for the slate of engineering development tasks on their priority list. (At least based on the limited data available). As a result, PGI has many patches that are dominated by art content and few that include engineering improvements.

Also, keep in mind that engineering code is much higher risk than art assets. Engineering changes could break the game while bugs in art changes are unlikely to be more than an inconvenience. Given PGI's track record of testing and the number of bugs currently reported in UI2.0 (look at the test feedback threads and known issue threads) ... they are justifiably concerned about introducing new code.

Quit whining! Yeah the patch is underwhelming, but any fixes are better than none and if you don't like the new mechs, don't buy them! People will still pilot medium light killers too. Paul's announcement of a respawn mode is what you should be complaining about, since that will attract the lowest-common-denominator players.

20 Slower accel.... why? I just... why?

(EDIT: didn't bother reading what other people were saying about htis, but... yea... what other people are saying is correct.)
Guys, there's no danger of this mech being overpowered, and thus, no need for the accell nerf.

WHY???

I will tell you why is has a -20% acceleration

To help out Heavies and Assault mechs from being just totally owned FROM BEHIND!

To make it HARDER for the Jenner pilot to accelerate forward or reverse... trying to STAY on the BACK of a Big Mech, whilst shooting its 32-40 damage SRM ALPHA into its back while the Big mech, no matter how it torso twists, turns left or right, goes into full reverse, trying to do ANYTHING to keep the Jenner OFF its back and blind spot!

Some of you guys/gals know what I speak of.

I have had several matches where before I can make it over to a building or cover to put my BACK TOO.... a lone light mech has been able to STICK TO MY BACK LIKE VELCRO, no matter what kind of piloting I tried.

The dev team AS A WHOLE should have implemented CW and UI features on the LIVE serves by now.

Hopefully the spawn points are really different.. And hopefully this leads to eventual random spawns. WOuld make a big big difference to the grind.

Having just played some good warthunder, which is really nice in so many ways, it really cant compete with mech combat.. Its not even close.
Mech combat is just

Brutal.. and pgi, if they had half a brain, would market it as such.

They have the great good fortune of having one of the best IPs ever....

Don't worry he's the ultimate PGI Lapdog and lives under Russ's desk, we all know it. Sit boy sit!!

Nope, just don't take the extreme, chicken little, perpetual asshurt that you and the "PGI Lied, Electrons Died" crowd does.

I judge everything on it's merit, and the last few months, I actually see improvements (back in April/May, your ilk were spamming me likes with my PGI directed rage), but for the likes of you, unless you get everything you want, when you want, you spend a lot of time posting tantrum like rants that would make a petulant 10 year old who was just told they can't have a candy bar, jealous of your fervor. . But I guess in these upcoming winter months you need your rage to keep you warm.

We should have had those features in open beta, TESTING THOSE FEATURES BEFORE "LAUNCH".

But noooo...

What do we get? More hero mechs and 2 to 3 more buggy maps.

How does PGI expect to keep people around when this game has "NO LONG TERM" content?

Ah following me around now eh? Yeah I've uninstalled this a few times, I've had a few good matches that got me perked up, but I like how you fail to respond to the guy that I responded to who felt the same way. Dude stop responding too my post you haven't posted anything constructive towards me at all, I consider it harassment if you keep posting at me in such a negative way. You can blindly follow these devs and give them all the praise you want doesn't mean this game has made significant improvements since it's been released.

I love you Roadbeer. :)

You don't White Knight PGI. I've seen your fair share of annoyance with lack of direction, same as myself. Both of us however still see vision in the game and have hopes that cogs will eventually turn as planned to get CW/etc rolling.

Doesn't mean that people need to scream bloody murder at PGI like they're not doing anything week by week. They've made questionable decisions, sure, but progress is progress.

and lol @ the dude who's "uninstalled a few times".

I'm also already anxious for Dec 17th patch, so good!. But the Dec 3rd patch has some nice bits to tide us over as well.

I love how he thinks this lazy patch is going to tide us over till Dec 18th. What a joke.

Why? Because everyone who frequents the forums knows the real content patches are always the 3rd Tuesday ones. Everyone knows the new map is then, new mechs (Thunderbolts) and whatever else is there (new camos, new whatever). If you are still holding your breath for CW, UI2.0, and such, continue.

You're trying to appeal to people who can't identify patterns. They're usually the ones who always wonder what time the patch is, when their Project Phoenix mechs will be injected, and if not asking what the friday patch was, QQing about how Friday's patch is always a sale with no real content :)
